Gunman who killed Pasco man says it was self defense
by Thomas Yazwinski|
KLICKITAT COUNTY, Wash. — The man who was arrested for the shooting death of Pasco business man, John Roger Swigart, told the sheriff it was self defense and he feared for his life.Action News has obtained court documents that go into great detail about the shooting incident that occurred on June 16th.
According to court documents, Swigart and the man accused of killing him, Mark L. Allen, have been fighting for years in a property dispute.
On June 16th, investigators say Swigart and Allen almost crashed into one another on Jensen Quarry Road.
Eye witnesses say they saw both men exit their vehicles after the near collision and began to physically fight with one another.
Allen told authorities that Swigart was choking him. Allen told investigators he heard Swigart say he was going to kill him while he clamped down on Allen’s neck.
Allen says he reached for his .40 caliber pistol in his truck and fired a shot over his shoulder, striking Swigart in the head.

Ex-boyfriend killed after forcing way into home in search of ex-girlfriend
DETROIT (FOX 2) – A homeowner shot and killed a woman’s ex-boyfriend as he intruded into the home on Detroit’s west side with the intent to kill, witnesses say.
“He out to kill. He didn’t care,” said a female resident, who did not wish to be identified.
Police say a 20-year-old Hispanic man entered a home on Chopin Street on around 10 p.m. Tuesday without permission. The woman says she was inside the home when that man, carrying a gun, allegedly forced his way inside.
This mother does not know the suspect’s name but he was her daughter’s ex-boyfriend.
“He was seeing my daughter but he beat her … and she took off because he said he was going to kill her,” she said.
Through her tears, the woman said the suspect pointed a gun at her and told her if she didn’t call the daughter, he was going to kill her. But the man also allegedly pointed the gun at other family members.
“He shot at my son-in-law from what I understand. He shot at him twice,” she said.
Police tell FOX 2 that their initial investigation shows the 39-year-old homeowner shot the man after he entered the home. At this point the homeowner is not in custody as police are investigating — this as a likely case of self defense.

A 17-year-old boy turned himself in Wednesday morning after police had arrested three other people, according to authorities.
A man told police he was ambushed and nearly shot and killed by the suspects. Local 4 is protecting his identity.
“I noticed the driver had a gun in his lap, and they all had masks on,” he said.
He said he was getting ready for work on Prospect Avenue early Wednesday morning and walked to the corner for a pack of cigarettes.
A car with four people drove up. Someone inside asked him for a light and he noticed one of them had a gun, according to police.

Fired a shot into the air?
Oh, hell no!
You fire that shot as close to center mass as possible. Give the perps a souvenir to remember you by.
What a waste of a round. Those things don’t grow on trees.
I’m just curios why the kid said he was getting robbed? Sounds like they were just going to shoot him, not take his money…that would be assaulted or murdered not robbed!
Yeah, Step-mom could have helped a whole lot more by aiming a shot or tagging the door. Much easier to tell the cops “look for a blue car with a bullet hole in the passenger door” than look for a blue car!
You will know them by the smell, after all of them $hit their pants when they ran away!
Two people wearing hoodies backwards, with eyeholes cut into them and the hoods pulled up over their faces, went into a suburban bank, waving guns and demanding money, and scared the pants off the bank employees, getting away with $5,000 cash and swollen egos.
They also had an umbrella with them.
And I can’t find a link to that story anywhere. 🙁
Would this perhaps be the story?

That’s them!!! ID’d by they sweatshirts they done stole and wearin’!!!
Thank you, Hondo!
I think it’s time that bank tellers had guns issued to them.
I wonder if John Swigart is from the E&J Swigart Co. that printed the illustrated manual of American watch movements (Elgin, Waltham, Hamiliton etc) of which I have a copy of.
A very good start to the end of the week. A total of 6 dirtbags of the streets, 2 of them forever. Shows that more and more people are fighting back. Keep it up, but as TDBW pointed out above, aim to hit center mass.
The high IQs of the people in these stories astounds.
How is it that we have been blessed by such intellectual giants and why are they aggregated into neighborhoods?
Don’t answer that…LOL
some of the urban neighborhoods remind me of the area of my home town we call “podunk”.
One of the defining characteristics of podunk was crime. The other was that everyone seemed to have the same surname….
I could never figure out why this area was full of first cousins incapable of getting along, but there it was.
