Another One Leaves Us
The Navajo Nation has announced the passing of another Code Talker, Fleming Begaye, Sr., at the tender age of 97.

Per the article: According to the Navajo Nation, Begaye served as a Code Talker from 1943 to 1945 and fought in the Battle of Tarawa and the Batter of Tinian. He spent a year in a naval hospital after being wounded.
Begaye later ran a general store in Chinle. – Military Times

Another piece of History gone to his rewards. After the surviving of the Pacific Battles, no wonder he would want the quiet life of running a General Store among his people and home.

Amen…I have a poster of the wind talkers, got it at a VFW meeting and could the men to autograph it, but I only got 2, the rest were in the patio in the rear of the building and I didn’t know they were there and signing! so I missed out…I hate it, most are gone now! 🙁
