Blast From the Past – James Kauffman’s fake military service deadly for his wife
It has been a while since we had a Blast From the Past post. Today’s “winner” is James Kauffman. He made claims about being a Vietnam Veteran. However, his wife, April, discovered that not only was he not a Vietnam Veteran, he didn’t serve in the military.
This devastated her, as his claims factored in to her decision to embark on a relationship with him… And eventually getting married to him. According to those that knew her, she was looking at getting out of the marriage. He ended up murdering her. He committed suicide while in jail.

April Kauffman, 47, was found by a caretaker shot twice on May 10, 2012, in the bedroom of her Linwood home. Five years later, Kauffman was arrested on weapons and obstruction charges resulting from a 45-minute armed standoff with police as they attempted to execute the search warrant.
In January, after he was charged in April’s murder, James Kauffman, 69, died inside the Hudson County jail, where he apparently hanged himself.
It was our partners at Guardians of the Green Beret who exposed Kaufman’s lies. They discovered that he had never served in any branch of the military;
After her murder, friends of April Kauffman told investigators it was James Kauffman’s alleged military service that attracted April to him in the first place, according to the warrant.
“However, within a year of her murder, April became aware that Dr. Kauffman had never served in Armed Forces and was not a veteran in any capacity,” the warrant states. “It is known that April was devastated by this revelation and it is believed that she threatened to use this information to procure a beneficial divorce from him.”
Kauffman wore a green beret and fatigue uniforms to his wife’s veteran events according to witnesses;
Atlantic County Director of Veterans Services Bob Frolow…who first met April Kauffman about seven years ago at a breakfast at the former Northfield Diner before joining her on several veterans projects, said although James Kauffman never told him explicitly he was a veteran, he did things like wearing a green beret or fatigues to insinuate that he was.
“Little things where you would assume he was a veteran,” Frolow said. “He would make little innuendos that he was in the service.”
I wouldn’t recommend murder to cover up stolen valor fraud, and I guess Dr Kauffman wouldn’t at this point, either.

I will admit to being a medical Doctor who sometimes wears pair of scrubs in the Navy “blueberry” camo.
I don’t think anybody gets the impression that I was ever in the military because I sometimes wear a pair of camo scrubs at work.
I also usually wear Russian digital or Danish Flectarn camo when I’m at the Secret Shooting Spot out in the Everglades.
I’m certain that none of my Shooting buddies think I’m ex military.
You have to do more than just wear camo to give people that impression.

I noticed that age gap too. I guess with more males embracing MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) lifestyles, the marriage pool is shrinking so compromises must be made.

By doing so, he saved taxpayers the expense of feeding, clothing and housing him for the rest of his worthless life.

His wife April was smokin’ hot! I mean SMOKIN’! It’s too bad she didn’t do a little more of an invest on him. She was a step up in his world since he probably relied on the dr. title get chicks.
Word on the street regarding the health care fraud is that dr. dickweed was dealing prescription medication (perhaps steroids?) through the State Health Benefits system to those in the world of “public safety” and other .gov workers up and down NJ (the facts of which still may cause some future embarrassment, wringing of hands, and gnashing of teeth).
The racketeering, distribution of drugs and conspiracy to distribute drugs was done with some dirtbag biker gang scummers (and perhaps involved fake scripts for OxyContin or other similar medications?)
April supposedly caught wind of what was going on and threatened to call some other .gov people when she was silenced. The guy that dr. dickweed hired to do the silencing could be a member of the afore mentioned dirtbag biker gang scummers.
Well at least that’s the word on the street anyway…..
Yes, he’s DEAD, Jim. And thankfully so.
We can only hope that he strangled to death very slowly as all of his bodily fluids gushed out. We can only hope that the bodily will to live forced him to struggle to get out of his bonds and “necklace”.
