Rowdy Yates has aged well, lived well, and brought much entertainment into millions of lives.
B&W TV, three main stations, rabbit ears, UHF for video, VHF for audio. Usually a local independent station to distribute the network to consumers.
Stations stopped broadcasting by midnight, just a test pattern and then static. Hmm, I don’t think static is possible at UHF frequencies.
Nearly as I recall, broadcasting resumed at around 6 AM.
I actually liked Bridges of Madison County!
15 cent Coke machines at the Barber Shop which had a 15 or 20″ Ford Philco B&W TV,…
Watched Gran Torino at the theater and when it finished the entire room clapped and cheered. We’ve come a long way since people weren’t so easily offended.
I SO MISS the Good Old Days when this world wasn’t do overfilled with perpetually offended PUSSIES!!!
We have a group of people I refer to as Professional Victims. They are offended by everything with which they disagree. There’s no room for compromise, with give and take. No, it’s their way or the highway. Professional Victims … yeah, we’ve come a long way baby.

Needless to say, I was emotional like many that visit here.
