Court overturns conviction in killing of home intruder

RICHMOND, Va. — A Virginia appeals court has overturned the conviction of a Springfield man who fatally shot an intruder in his home.

The court ruled 7-4 last week to affirm a divided appeals panel’s September ruling that the judge in Thomas Lienau’s trial erred in refusing to instruct the jury on self-defense, as Lienau’s attorney had requested.

Lienau was initially charged with murder in the 2015 death of 25-year-old Mohammed Najim, whose brother was renting a bedroom in Lienau’s home. A jury convicted Lienau of involuntary manslaughter.

According to court records, Najim had been told repeatedly that he was not welcome in the house and was shot after breaking through a dead-bolted front door.

Today’s totals, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, are a satisfactory 2 / 1 / 1, with two committing their last crime, one in the body and fender shop, and one in the wind considering a new line of work.

I’m no fan of the criminals, but what a blue falcon the second thug was in the San Antonio story!

“had been told repeatedly that he was not welcome in the house and was shot after breaking through a dead-bolted front door”

I got no problem with that.

Virginia again. Where you can wait to see the newborn child then kill it.

I got a problem with that.

Never paid much attention to that State but my eyes are wide open as are a lot of people lately. The rats are scurrying as the War of 2020 approaches.

Virginia…one of the 19 States suing President Trump about the Wall.

On the same note, have read NYers are fleeing NY to go to Florida because of high taxes. Hope Florida does not become a Liberal State.

Same with California..folks are leaving to go to Texas…hope Texas does not become a Liberal State.

We bailed from Maryland in 2016. Great place to make money, but I don’t miss the taxes, traffic, and constant selection for jury duty. Maryland’s unreasonable gun laws make law abiding citizens a sitting duck also.

Just read Tampa weather will be in the mid 80’s today. Ahhh….

As a resident here in the Communistwealth of Virginia. I moved from New Mexico to get away with this ass hattery but it seems it has followed me here.

Try to break in my house, you gonna get shot; graveyard dead. Richmond locking folks up for protecting their home, but it’s OK to murder babies and rape women? Oops my bad, that’s for demon rat polis only.

San Antone; Be a bad mofo, accosted by 2 that’s armed, avails himself of one of their weapons and kills one dirtbag and runs the other off. Good job!

Tuttle; Didn’t he serve in a M.A.S.H. unit in Korea, KIA helping the orphans? Good to hear they named a town after that hero. Apparently an intruder got shot. Come on staph infection.

A 2/1/1 always makes for a good day at the window. Prolly can afford to loan outcast a little now. Hat for the boy to hunting for loose change on the ground.

That Miss Thang with the wanna be gun pr0n, is she sister golden hair surprise?

Outcast

Just hang on to the loan for now, pert near found enough yesterday for a short beer but the bar that served them has closed their doors, King must have put them out of business also with his constant happy hour business. Sort of appears to be a keg per sitting during a happy hour, at least that is how the mid section appears to be shaped. You are what you consume after all.

Hottie with the pistol is gonna get a thumb crunching if she ever actually fires with that effed up grip.

Om nom nom nom goes the slide.

Outcast

Her hands are getting tired as has strong resemblance to two earlier photo’s on site.

IDC SARC

I’ve seen guys lose fingers. That shot of adrenalin she’ll receive will increase her stamina exponentially. 🙂

David

I stop people constantly on the range who have no clue how fast the slide moves, nor what to do with EITHER thumb.

I learned about that when I was five and my father was showing me how to shoot his Colt Woodsman. While helping me hold and sight the pistol, he failed to notice I had pulled the back of the gun to within a few inches of my face as I tried to align the sights. I pulled the trigger and the firing block (slide) struck me in the right side of my nose, creating a small triangular cut. Needless to say Dad got a severe tongue-lashing from Mom when we got home.

26Limabeans

She’s going to thumb her nose at the perp.

FatCircles0311

I’m surprised this wasn’t the first comment. That picture is retarded.

David

Yeah, like when you see an attractive girl you first check out her thumbs! More like “hmm, pretty girl. Tupperware gun. Pretty girl.”

OWB

Didn’t used to be so bad, iirc. Was wondering about that a few days ago – maybe my memory is flawed, or maybe there is something else wrong.

Outcast

Well, Denver is trying to get police procedures changed in the handling of what they call low level crimes. They want the officers to provide more help in the rehabilitation of these individuals, provide mental health assistance, stop arresting of them and also not issue citations. Well the west coast freaks are here and trying to take over this state. Also the folks that represent us at our Capitol are trying to form legislation giving police the right to take our guns away with no real reason to do so. How did the Border Patrol in La La land manage to make a major Fentanyl bust at the border, I thought that the governor there as well as her majesty in DC opposed any interference by Border Patrol with all traffic into their state.

I can see why the guy doesn’t shave.
Bathroom mirror is no place to get animated with a razor while venting.

IDC SARC

I haven’t shaved my face since the day I retired…useless endeavor. 🙂

I don’t begrudge anyone that chooses to tho.

I just watched that video with the clips from these BuzzFeed soy boyz’ visit to an indoor range. These pajama-boi metrosexuals (many of whom are likely gay) will never suffer from masculinity, toxic or otherwise. Anyone want to predict the over/under on how many of them will be “transitioning” in the next 18 months? I bet they went back to the fake newsroom for a circle jerk or a little dutch-ruddering, after all that excitement at the range.

NavyChief ‘95

That judge in the first case was an idiot.

E.Conboy

May I ask a question,? I always appreciate the news and commentary from youse guys and ladies, as all the men in my family have served in military and as I respect them so I respect y’all. I have noticed fewer messages from Graybeard and Wilted Willy and hope both are busy recovering and rehabbing from something serious like heartburn or flatulance. Hope all of you are A-OK. (If this is too personal, I have no doubt it will not be published and apologize.)
Keep up the great work; you are inspiring and enlightening. Old folks like me can feel assured that as long as America is guarded and cherished by patriots like you, who paid such a horrific price for the freedom we share today, America will remain “Land of the free and home of the brave!”
