By Lucia I. Suarez Sang
A U.S. Army civilian employee living in western Germany used a kitchen knife to fend off a group of men who tried to force their way into his home – stabbing and possibly killing one during the confrontation, local police said.Police said the apartment owner – only identified as a 41-year-old American – stabbed one of the suspected burglars several times while fighting him off inside his home in the town of Landstuhl on Sunday.
The robbers initially fled by car, but a short time later, a 43-year-old injured man was found lying on a street in the nearby village of Krickenbach, Stars and Stripes reported.
The man died from his injuries while his 51-year-old brother called for help. The older man was arrested by police.

Deputies: Business owner held thief at gunpoint
Staff report
A theft suspect met his match when he tried to haul off a pickup truck load of tools from the Cronland Lumber Yard on Highway 73.Deputies were dispatched to the business at around 5:40 p.m. on Feb. 7 in response to a breaking and entering in progress. When they arrived on the scene the business owner, Stan Cronland, had the suspect out of his truck and on the ground at gunpoint, according to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Cronland told officers he was pulling into the business when he saw a white pickup truck parked by one of the buildings. He saw the truck try to leave the scene so he turned his vehicle around and accelerated to cut the suspect off before he got to the gate.
He held the man at gunpoint until deputies arrived on the scene.
The man, identified as Matthew Stone Hulett, 32, of Highway 73 in Lincolnton, told the owner that he had taken items from one of the buildings and the items were on the back of the truck. Cronland said the suspect begged him not to call the police because he had been in prison before.

Police: Intended victim shoots back injuring attempted robbery suspect
By Eryn Taylor
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — New information has been released after a man showed up to a local Taco Bell injured during a shooting.According to police, Jamario Dotson called 911 from the 5320 Knight Arnold Road location early Monday morning stating he had been shot in the foot while driving his silver Acura with Kentucky tags down the street.
Shortly after Dotson made his call, another man contacted authorities saying he’d just shot a man who was trying to rob him in the 3400 block of Castleman.
The man stated he was driving home from work when he noticed a silver Acura following him. Once he reached his driveway, he said the suspect jumped out of his car and approached him asking “where the cash was at.” The suspects then pulled out a gun and began shooting.
Fearing for his safety, the man said he also pulled out his weapon and returned fire, apparently striking the suspect in the foot before he fled.
The description that the attempted robbery victim gave to police matched Dotson, police said. He was arrested and charged with attempted aggravated robbery.

Even without a gun, Americans can be dangerous. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid.
It IS Germany, where almost no one has a gun, not even most bad guys, so Mr American was lucky there.
“Don’t mess with the chef in his own kitchen. He knows where the knives are”.
Funny thing, almost everyone in my reserve group had multiple civilian guns. (A couple even had their original soldbuchs from WWII.) They di, however, say they had to jump through multiple hoops every time to be allowed to own them.
Dear Mr Hulett,
Don’t call the police? Sorry, you sealed your fate when you tried to steal……again. Apparently, burglary is not your strong point. Find another, legal and legitimate, line of work.
Jamario Dotson…..
Call for Claw and the Whiz Wheel! I hope you’ve been maintaining it regularly.

Oops! Lesson learned for next time.
That’s all I ask, Tox. All sins forgiven.
Pretty low score for Jamario Dotson (WOT), not hardly even worth pulling a PMCS on the Whiz Wheel™®, but after a vigorous spinning, the score is 23×2=46.
Do we have a top 10 Whiz Wheel™® list?
Negative.

Sorry we’re late. Had to go by FIRST and drop some scorn on Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy. Dippy had left some disparaging words on Denise’s Post. Pretty stupid move on his part.
I’ll take a 1/3 winning score; doesn’t pay off as bigley as a 3/0/0, but the week is still not over.
Tanks for the pic of the cutie pied auburn (rtr) haired Ms Thang. I “Likes” (+_+) pony tails. ‘Bout anything else with auburn in the name is little more than a cow college(go dawgs). Well there is a nice little town in SE Nebraska named Auburn, gots a killer Veteran’s Park and Museum. Stop by and visit.
“Cronland said the suspect begged him not to call the police because he had been in prison before.”
Absolutely fascinating – he goes right back to stealing but doesn’t want to go back to prison… so why did he take up theft again????
Sorry, but I can’t help laughing over this one.
Guess he is going back now, huh…
Convicts have the highest self-esteem of any group in the USA, ranking right up there with leftests.
But they are demonstrably some of the stupidest people around as well. (Both groups.)
Guess that is why you and your co-workers get to deal with them in da joint.
