Happy Birthday, Marines!

Happy Birthday USMC!
1777 to 1783. Then disbanded.
A lot of bands have disbanded only to reunite years later when they realized individually they would never be as good as they were when they were together. Besides, all of those women in all of those ports wanted the Marines back as they knew Sailors would never be as good getting the “job” done as the Marines did.
Every branch of the US military was disbanded after the end of the Revolution. The new government intended to rely on militia forces for any military might needed. Your point?
Happy Birthday, USMC!
10 Nov ’66 I was drafted into the US Army.
Where in the hell does the time go?
Happy Birthday Leathernecks!
Still the craziest MF’ers on the planet.
the Marines I served with in Iraq were some good tough hombres. I rode in many of their convoys and knew they were utter professionals and would get things done. Happy birthday, Gyrenes…
Happy 243rd Marines. You don’t look a day over 225. Here’s to another 243. Have a stout and cigar; put it on my tab.
Happy Birthday, Jarheads with a left hand thread.
Y’all want to get good and pissed off this morning, open the link Ed posted, read thru the article and the comments. Pay particular attention to comment 3 from Gus in Chicago. Pissed me off and I was Army.
How the fuck do you light a crayon?
Happy Birthday from your older brothers.
Army will always look out for you.
We promise.
Hack Stone’s oldest brother would wake him up at 04:30 to fold and deliver the newspapers for HIS route. Thank God for the Marine Corps, Hack got to sleep in until 05:00.
Happy Birthday to all of my fellow Marines and also to the FMF Sailors who serve with us.
Semper Fidelis.
USMC!
Mentioned the old “there are only two branches of the military: Army and Navy. The Air Force is a corporation and the Marines are a cult” to the former Marine who married my middle daughter. “Damn right!” was the response. Happy Birthday, guys.
Happy Birthday to all those who have to screw their hats onto their heads!
Happy Birthday, United States Marine Corps!

10 November 1775 – Happy 243rd Birthday to the United States Marine Corps. On this day in 1775 Congress voted to raise two battalions of Continental Marines. This established the Marine Corps for the defense of the colonies which were then to protect their rights, as they saw them, against the aggressions of the mother country.
The men recruited for this force were to be familiar life of the sea, but were to be trained as a military force, and was the intention to have them serve aboard the ships to be provided for the defense of the colonies. It is evident that the founders of the Marine Corps had in mind the fine services previously rendered by the British marines, both afloat and ashore, and that it was the intention to use the marines aboard the ships in naval battles when on the high seas and as landing forces when occasion might offer.
Happy Birthday USMC. It was my privilege to have served with you. They were the best years I spent in the Navy. Wish for a do over.
Happy Birthday Brothers, where everyday’s a holiday and every meal’s a feast.
Kicking ass and banging babes since 1775!
