Rules of engagement for troops deploying to the Mexican border

President Trump walked back his remarks about rocks equal rifles. What the troops will actually be able to do is tightly governed by ROE.
Standing Rules on the Use of Force
Each domestic deployment of troops to any of the 50 states or U.S. territories are governed overall by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction 3121.01B, “Standing Rules of Engagement, Standing Rules for the Use of Force by U.S. Forces.” Two annexes, L and N, are specific to Defense Department missions in support of civilian authorities.
However, each mission is unique, and the rules can be adjusted at a commander’s request.
“It’s imperative that it’s crystal clear” what the specific rules of engagement, or what Pentagon officials refer to as rules for the use of force in domestic deployments, are to this mission, a defense official said on the condition of anonymity. “I’m confident we are in a good place on that, based on the specific tasks we’ve been given.”
Who can be armed?
This week. U.S. Northern Command chief Air Force Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy said only forces required by their specialty to carry weapons will be allowed to be armed.
The Posse Comitatus Act
All active duty forces dispatched to the border are governed by the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act, which forbids troops from carrying out law enforcement duties inside United States territory unless Congress grants an exemption.
Under the act, federal military forces are prohibited from engaging in direct law enforcement, which includes making arrests, conducting searches, seizures, apprehension, evidence collection, interrogations, security patrols, seizures, stop and frisks, surveillance, crowd and traffic control, enforcement of a quarantine or isolation, or other similar police functions.
Congress has amended the act to define the authorized level of support the military may provide for drug interdiction and to support border patrol.
According to the Congressional Research Service, under the extended support, the military may provide “assistance in maintenance or upgrade of equipment; transportation of personnel; establishment and operation of operations or training bases; training of law enforcement personnel; detecting and monitoring traffic within 25 miles of the border; road and fence construction; light installation along smuggling corridors; the establishment of command and control centers and computer networks; the provision of linguist and intelligence analysis services; and aerial and ground reconnaissance.”
Lots of layers in President Trump’s use of the military to augment U.S. Customs and Border Patrol personnel. Along with freeing up agents from performing routine duties, it sends a powerful message to those intending to enter the United States illegally, and highlights the Dems unwillingness to protect the country from the flow of drugs, potential terrorists, criminals, and disease. The fact that Obama is loudly decrying the deployment as just a political stunt tells me President Trump is on the right track, as usual.

Expect that older/larger youths, and ladies dressed “mannishly”, will be encouraged (even outright paid) to throw rocks, etc, at soldiers. The objective will be to draw fire and produce martyrs of women and children.
The folks organizing the current mobs have certainly studied methods of the anti-Israeli mob actions. They are -counting- on a “excessive violent over-reaction” to get even more USA litigation going, and to draw dozens of “court orders” to allow the flood to enter unmolested. This is in furtherance of revolutionary action.
If there is a walk-over, unmolested, it will be to demonstrate the powerlessness and “failure” of the current administration, again furthering revolutionary action.
This is exactly their goal. It’s a damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I like Trump’s stance that we have laws and will enforce them.
If there are troops armed at the border and they are attacked with rocks or otherwise and feel their lives are in danger, I expect this admin to have their backs when they have to use force. Not like the last admin that was all too quick and happy to throw law enforcement under the bus in a clear political stunt to sow racial discord and division.

Hell it may as well be, seems like every other bull$#^t rule is. I can understand not using the Military in a Police role, that’s a can of worms we don’t ever want to see opened. I may be wrong, but this seems more like a determined assault and invasion of our borders vis-a-vis any thing like sneaking across/border patrol duty. In the civilian rule of law, you throw a rock at someone that is, at the least, assault with intent to do bodily harm. As we’ve have said/read on many a time, people that want to let these swarms into our country, illegally, can just volunteer to feed, clothe, house, and whatever out of their pocket. I’m wracking my feeble brain, trying to come up with a country that will just sit back and allow hundreds or thousands of people just to come pouring in and scattering about with no control. Even the Europeans who allowed all of the Muslim migrants are now seeing the folly of their ways. I, too, fear that many of these “migrants” (read assault troops) will do whatever they can to goad our people into doing something that can be used against them or the administration. Just because other peoples allowed their homeland to become a $&^thole, doesn’t mean we want the same thing. And for the people who are bitching about what the placing of troops is costing; Hey being in the field can be better than painting rocks and picking up butts; pay is the same.

Well, this is a test to see if Trump is as strict as he seems to be. The bleeding hearts that only bleed when they want extra votes will set up noisy protests over refusing entry to these people.
But if you look at the contrast between our northern border, which is seldom violated, and the southern border, which is constantly violated, then you know quite well it is not about anything other than counting noses to get votes out of these people.
The ‘go back home and fix your own country’ won’t work on them, because they don’t want to do that. If they really wanted a better life, they’d find a way to make it happen on their own turf. The people coming north on those trucks simply don’t want to do the work it takes to make things better.

Make sure the crowd is repeatedly advised that live ammo is issued and that an organized and determined crowd rushing the line after warnings is -not- a civilian situation.
Let Mexico know we expect a mature sovereign state to maintain order on its own territory, and if they are not actively opposing and disrupting the foreign mob crossing their territory, they have allied themselves with a hostile power, and there are consequences.
Gloves off. Grown up rules. Examples made. Press be damned. Make sure that other cameras catch the whole thing. Promise and deliver war crimes tribunals (Done by -us-) for anyone encouraging or supporting use of protected civilians as mobs to breach a defended border.

Use army and other cams to film the event, and the press activities.
