A Presidential Proclamation
By Presidential Proclamation, November 2018 is Military Families and Veterans’ Month.
President Donald Trump issued a proclamation Wednesday designating November 2018 as National Veterans and Military Families Month.
“I encourage all communities, all sectors of society, and all Americans to acknowledge and honor the service, sacrifices, and contributions of veterans and military families for what they have done and for what they do every day to support our great Nation,” the president said in a press statement posted to the White House’s website.
Trump issued the proclamation while also championing his commitment to the veterans community.
“I was pleased to sign into law the landmark VA MISSION Act of 2018, which revolutionizes the way veterans receive healthcare and other services vital to their lives,” he said in the statement.

(N.B.: He did this last year, too, but it went unnoticed in the media. This year, it showed up. Maybe they’ve mellowed a little.)

Ok….so, where’s the pookie?
In your dreams, darlin’. In your dreams.
Finally I get a month. It may not be Italian heritage month or caucasian American month….. but it is a month.
Is it just me, or does it seem that a President who never served, a man who was supposedly “dodging” the chance to serve, is doing more for Veterans and their Families than just about all of them combined have done lately? I don’t think he is doing it from a guilt standpoint. I think The Donald is doing as much as he can because he is a Proud American, he is proud of our Armed Forces, and he is trying to make up for neglect that has gone on for the last few wars. One thing that helps me keep my sanity is the thought that all my tax dollars go to the deserving Troops. Yeah, it’s not the way it works, but I can dream, can’t I?
That’s my view, too.
Nailed it.
Veterans I know really don’t care if you didn’t serve. They do care about posers who claim service and decorations they didn’t earn though.
Less than 1% of the population back then served in Vietnam, and only 9% of military age males went to Vietnam. Just under 25% were draftees. You were about as likely to serve in Europe, Japan, Korea, or on any number of ships or postings around the world.
Trump is the most pro military president we’ve had in a long time. His affection is genuine. He cares about soldiers and veterans.
Amen!
Today like every Friday, I bust out my RED T-shirt. My son is currently assigned to Ft Benning in the CG’s office. But there are a couple hundred thousand troops out there that deserve support. Good on 45
Some great comments above about POTUS.
I like and respect him too.
Now…if you want to discuss Hanoi Jane and what I think of her…that conversation could go on for a couple of days.
Trump has far exceeded my expectations. I just hope the mid terms result in a red wave so great the libtards do actually move!
