North Korea erasing most anti-US propaganda
The New York Post reports the North Korean government is erasing much of its anti-U.S. propaganda following dictator Kim Jong-un’s sorties onto the world stage.
Posters portraying the U.S. as a “rotten, diseased, pirate nation” and promising “merciless revenge” on American forces for any attack on the Hermit Kingdom have disappeared.
In their place are cheery messages touting praising the prospects for Korean reunification and the declaration Kim signed in April with South Korean President Moon Jae-in promising “lasting peace,” according to reports.
Still the most isolated country in the world, very few North Koreans have access to news and information from the outside world. So state propaganda plays a huge role in shaping their views.
Murals, banners and posters displayed throughout the capital, Pyongyang, have for decades depicted the U.S. as a brutal, imperialist aggressor hell-bent on destroying the North Korean regime. South Korea and Japan were also frequently targeted as willing allies of the U.S.
But things started to take an Orwellian turn in the run-up to Kim’s June 12 summit with President Donald Trump, with the old posters vanishing since then.
“All the anti-American posters I usually see around Kim Il-sung Square and at shops, they’ve all just gone,” Rowan Beard, a tour manager at Young Pioneer Tours, told Reuters. “In five years working in North Korea, I’ve never seen them completely disappear before.”
Infamous posters and postcards showing North Korean missiles on their way to Washington are a thing of the past. Also removed are the anti-American trinkets that used to be sold to tourists as souvenirs. In their place are items showing themes of Korean reunification.
Meeting with Presidents Trump and Moon, removing the loud speakers at the DMZ, repatriating our KIAs, dismantling a nuke test site (OK, it was pretty much done anyway, but still…), no test missiles fired in months, talks involving removing artillery from the DMZ, and now a propaganda Sea Change. I’m still cautiously optimistic, but the facts on the ground thus far are the process seems to be working. Now if only the Lame Stream Media would take notice…

Yup, either Odumbo and Lurch get the “real” credit or they play this as some sort of master stroke from Kim as he continues to game Trump.

They’ve probably already noticed, but it might take awhile to figure out how peace with the Norks is a very bad thing, and it’s all Trump’s fault.

If they truly want to do the right thing then God speed but I suspect otherwise.
Reunification will be very, very messy. One issue not frequently mentioned is that a large number of South Koreans have become less enthusiastic about the idea after seeing what happened to West Germany when the two Germanies re-united. Their GDP took a nose dive.
I’d like to get my hands on 1 or 2 of them posters, could be a future collectors item….IF some how no one screws the pooch on this latest peace initiative

I am sure part of the deal is he insisted that from now on he be referred to as “Lil-Kim”, with the added promise of a hip-hop record deal.
But, I do hope it works. And no, Trump will never be given credit for deescalating decades of hostilities and real threats and hopefully bringing a stone age society into the present. It will all come off as behind the scenes efforts which Hillary and Obama started long ago. And had they not done what they did, we would be at war in Korea. Kim Jong Un is more willing to work with President Trump than the D-rats in DC are! Remember it wasn’t long ago that the left was screeching we were being led into a nuclear war with North Korea.
Trump has really gotten the left to show their true colors. Advocating no borders, rooting against the US in dealings with a nuclear state, and getting them to openly and enthusiastically embrace violent, drug dealing gangs and felons.
And the lil SOB was firing missiles into the sea of Japan…and Trump’s immediate predecessor did nothing in two terms to calm matters or to bring home our Fallen. He did, however, obtain some sort of agreement which was immediately violated by NeedleDick and, in exchange, we shipped millions of tons of food over there. Abject failure, applauded by the Left. Trump gets some real traction with the NORKs and he’s vilified.
It was worse than that. Without Clinton the Norks would not have had the bomb to begin with. Kind of like how Clinton started the whole separating families at the border thing.
Actually, that was a judicial order, not a Clinton idea, but he did follow the order & never changed the language of the law controlling immigration.
Kind of ironic, they’re dismantling their “diseased pirates” propaganda just when it is becoming true.

I think about a year ago was the first time I said something on a couple facebook posts about Trump:
If Trump cured cancer, some people would be calling him a villain for causing so many doctors and scientists to lose their jobs who were studying and working for a cure.
Proof of that is Nancy Pelosi and other lead Democrats defending MS-13 gang members because he called them “animals”.
No matter what he does, some will despise him.
The left likes to carp about Kim getting everything he wanted from Trump (a photo?), and the President nothing. That’s laughable. They expected Trump to return home with all political prisoners freed, the destruction of all nukes in the north being completed, a peace treaty, and reunification. They’re babies in terms of negotiating.
Trump has done something presidents have failed at for more than 6 decades. Plus, they are ignorant about Trump’s style of negotiating by objective. If Trump gets back the remains of missing service personnel from the North, all he’s done so far with Kim is worthwhile.
Proglodytes live in a parallel universe in their small minds. Even if Trump had done everything they “expected,” as you say, it would not have been enough. They actually want him and our republic to fail. That is why they are all orgasmic over their fever dream that he will be impeached. There is only one permanent cure for their derangement syndrome. One of my favorite old sayings is “There is no limit to what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.”
I’m cautiously optimistic as well. Regardless of who does it, it’s past time that the stalemate in Korea come to an end.
I wonder if Kim could end up being the Gorbachev of NK? And by that I mean the one who loosened up internal restrictions enough that the whole stinking mess collapsed under its own weight.
