Bobo sends a link to the story of Lt. Col. Erin Weatherly and Chief Master Sgt. James Clark who were the commander and senior enlisted member of the 90th Civil Engineer Squadron at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming until they were canned last month;
Col. Stacy Jo Huser, commander of the 90th Missile Wing, “lost confidence in their abilities to carry out their duties and determined that new leadership was necessary to ensure the highest levels of precision from a squadron leadership.”
[2nd Lt. Nikita Thorpe, a spokeswoman for the 90th Missile Wing] said there was no single incident that led to their removal, but that Huser’s loss of confidence in them “accrued over time.”

My former Shipmates told me that after some of the Viet Nam Ops, the Marines after landing on the OKIE 3, used to throw bricks of grass into the inflatable life raft nets hanging off of the flight deck then retrieved later. Was also told that some of the bridge watch standers were stoned while standing watch. small arms munitions and grenades were recovered from some of the AC duct access doors. I got out during the “good” times and not during the drug and racial problems which crept up after I got out.

Some major squeakhole dorking done by the LtCol and CMS… things had to have gone to shit real fast in the unit for both to get canned.
You guys were complaining about the Navy being ahead in the SV ranks.

Kinda glad to see so much house cleaning going on in the upper ranks these days. Maybe war fighting can once again become the primary focus.

Finally, The Military has its guts back and the “P C” world of military people are slowly disappearing for the good of the Military – USAF, Navy, Marines and Army.
The Coast Guard is part of Home Land Security. Maybe their cleaning house too.
Noticed that. too, didya? It would seem that the worm has turned. For, oh, the past nine years or so, an officer had to commit a crime or surrender a vessel and crew w/o a fight to be canned. Now, there’s a rash of firings for “loss of confidence.” I say keep cleaning house. We never know what’s coming.

Dead weight got promoted because they ticked off a quota box or sucked serious ass. Now the bill has come due with adults back in charge
