Megyn Kelly bats Bill Press around like a cat toy

| February 17, 2009

If you missed it, Fox mega-cutie Megan Kelly debated incurably stupid Bill Press on the Fairness Doctrine today;

Press has serious problems understanding that no one wants to listen to him. He mentions that the DC market has no “progressive” radio stations. When he was on one of our local radio stations (WMAL), listeners ran him off because we just got tired of his BDS rants.

Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters writes that after Megyn slapped him around, Press went on another show to take a few more hits and admitted to the host that his interests in the Fairness Doctrine only extend as far as it makes him some money;

I know why I’m interested in it because I get up every morning at 3:45, I do three hours of talk radio every day from six to nine, that’s my life, it’s my business, I want to make money at it, and I want to be heard.

And like most Liberals (not Progressives, Bill) Press thinks the only reason he can’t reach his full potential is because we need more government in our lives. I wonder if he realizes how pathetic he looks getting his ass handed to him by Megyn. If there was no fairness at Fox, Press wouldn’t have been heard at all.

KFI in LA used to have this guy on, oh, sixteen or eighteen years ago. Their lineup at the time could have passed fairness doctrine muster with no problems with Rush, Bill Press, Stephanie Miller, and a few others whose names I misremember (Lycos was one of them, I think). Anyhow, within four or five years, all the overt liberals were gone, to be replaced with more conservative voices (not doctrinaire, just not wild-eyed leftists). The reason? RATINGS! The liberals couldn’t pull an audience, and it’s not like they were in the crappy time slots (some were, but Stephanie Miller had evening drive, Andrew and Karel had afternoon for a while etc.). KFI is not a station that employs welfare cases: if you can’t make the ratings, out you go.

Bill Press never made it past the weekends. It wasn’t political, he just isn’t any good as a talk show host! The fairness doctrine is nothing more than censorship disguised as a liberal jobs program.

Of course, he doesn’t know how pathetic he looks. He’s a lib, and he couldn’t answer any of Megyn’s points. No self-interest there at all, he just wants Uncle to make everyone listen to him. Those evil 5 companies control all of our minds, the Obamunist and his cronies have to save us. What an asshat.

But not on NPR? What’s more public than public radio the taxpayers have to pay for whether they listen to it or not? Typical libtard. I love it when Megyn makes mincemeat of people like Press.
