Feds to target No. California for illegal immigrant raids
According to the Houston Chronicle, the Trump Administration plans to import Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to Northern California, specifically, the San Francisco area, to stage large scale raids, hoping to net 1500 illegal immigrants who have been ordered to leave the country or who are known immigrant criminals. The raids are seen as a Federal reaction to California Governor Brown’s signature on SB54, declaring California to be a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants;
[Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan] said at the time that the federal government would not allow California to be “a sanctuary state for illegal aliens,” and would have no choice but to “conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites, which will inevitably result in additional collateral arrests, instead of focusing on arrests at jails and prisons where transfers are safer for ICE officers and the community.”
Early this month, Homan told Fox News that “California better hold on tight.” He said that if local politicians “don’t want to protect their communities, then ICE will.”
Told of the planned sweep, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein expressed outrage Tuesday, saying immigrants “must not be targeted in raids solely because they are Californians.” She said a large-scale operation would show that “the administration is carrying out its enforcement actions to make a political point and not based on the security of the country.”
Yeah, they are not being targeted “solely” because they live in California – they’re being targeted because they committed crimes in California against other Californians and they’ve been ordered by courts to leave the country.
The statewide legislation signed by Brown limits the circumstances under which jails turn over undocumented inmates to the federal government. It also forbids police officers from arresting people on civil immigration warrants and from joining federal agents in task forces intended to enforce immigration laws.
Under the Trump administration, ICE has repeatedly warned that if the agency can’t detain people from local jails, it will be forced to arrest them in the communities that hold such policies.
Last week, a group of politicians, including Reps. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, and Zoe Lofgren, D-San Jose, sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen requesting a meeting with her and Homan to clarify the remarks he made on Fox News about stepping up enforcement in California.
“The statements are a direct threat to Californians,” the letter read. “These statements are reprehensible and the department’s change in policy will instill fear in our communities. … Acting Director Homan’s attack on sanctuary cities is not only an infringement of state rights but a direct assault on communities of color.”
Way to miss the whole point, guys. The statements are a threat to Californian criminals who are in this country illegally.

None will be missed. The folks in charge are very careful to ensure the ballots are in the box well before the polls open.
They want the illegal immigrant votes. They never said they wanted them actually voting.
They do in Kalifornia. It is legal there.
Don’t think it matters at all where the registered voter lives, or even if the registered voter exists. It’s also unclear if voting is paid per ballot submitted or at an hourly rate.
While they are at it, they should round up Gov. Moonbeam and his fellow Donks and jail them as aiders and abettors…

I would encourage everyone to use the correct definition of immigrant and alien as posted here. Illegal alien:a foreign national who is living without authorization in a country of which they are not a citizen.
Immigrant: a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country.
Perhaps to some this may be a difference w/o a distinction. However, another aspect to being an alien is the allegiance to his home land/country.
So when we see these invaders waiving the flag of their homeland, we need to address them accurately.

The federal immigration statutes also expressly refer to them as “illegal aliens.” But that is hate speech to the crypto commie progtards. So that is why the media always refer to them as “undocumented immigrants.” The Demoncrat politicos think of them as undocumented Democrat voters.
After ICE rounds them up in Queer Town, have the Hulk toss them back over the border by the bus or shipping conatiner loads.

Seems to me the Dems are a lot more concerned for illegal immigrants than they are about US citizens. Hope this comes back to haunt them at the ballot box.
That’s exactly my thought. Watching the Dems stonewall the budget process to give amnesty to a bunch of illegals shows their priorities. They’d rather put law-breaking non-Americans above every citizen.
If only the media were willing to see that and show them for what they are.

its not just CA. In my time between getting out of the USMC in 1997 and joining the Army on 28 Aug 01 ( i know great timing in my part!) i did a stint with INS in lovely Santa Ana, CA. At the time a congressional test mandate had me going to Orange county jail, Santa Ana city jail and Anaheim city jail to check for Citizenship of the detainees so the PD’s were actively picking up people that they thought were Illegals. if they said they were here with out a visa then they got put on a bus after some holding time at the INS detention center in Long beach and shipped back to mexico as a “Voluntary return” we also had some other ways to to catch Illegals and i had one guy that i got and deported that way. we got him to come in for some reason to an empty office space and were able to deport him. thing is we had caught so many that day we did not have enough busses to get every one to detention. some of them had been in custody since 6 am with out food or water so i got them to pool their money and got them some burgers and soda pop and fed them . good thing because it was another 6 hours till the busses got there. fast forward to 2001. i had just returned to NY from CA a few months before after having enough politics in INS and enough California in general (5 hours to go 32 miles on 3 freeways on a friday night!) and was having trouble finding work that fit my skill set. ai had started to talk to a Guard recruiter and we became friends. he was dating an Illegal Guatemalan so he asked my advice on a bunch of INS related things and he found me a job bouncing at a place in Kingston NY that was a restaurant by day and on friday and saturday nights became dance club for all the guatemalan, honduran and nicaraguan… Read more »

Good idea. Would like to see it expanded a bit – instead of sending any federal dollars to a sanctuary city or state for them to spend as they wish, spend a similar amount of federal dollars on enforcement of the laws the sanctuary designation attempts to avoid. Spend the money, but on ICE activities, beefing up border security, etc. Spend some energy ensuring that most of those dollars go to out of state residents. Use some of those FEMA trailers for housing, for instance.
Can you imagine the Donk head-sploding if Texas announced it had criminalized the assisting of Federal enforcement of the 1934 and 1968 Gun Control acts? (Especially under the prior administration.)
