Tuesday morning feel good stories

| November 14, 2017

From Clovis, California;

The three Fresno men have been identified as 31-year-old Prince Ash, 29-year-old Eugene Spagner, and 28-year-old Antoinne Simpson.

Officers say the victim’s door was locked, with him in a back bedroom with his wife, and his young daughter was in the living room when the suspects broke in.

Lt. Katy Benham said, “When he heard the door open and obviously came out into the hallway and confronted the suspect that’s when he had recovered his handgun and fired a round.”

Officers believe after he shot one suspect he was hit on top of the head with a handgun before the men took off.

But with the quick response of police officers, they were able to catch two of the suspects speeding away from the scene and found the other bleeding in front of the apartment on the sidewalk.

From Hartford, Connecticut;

The man called police Monday morning after the car was stolen from his driveway as the car was being warmed up.

He went looking for his car and found it on Maple Avenue a short time later.

According to police, as the man approached the car, the teenager behind the wheel pointed a gun at him.

The victim pulled his legal firearm at shot at the teen, who quickly drove away, police said.

A short time later, police received a 911 call about a shooting victim on South Street, which turned out to be the 17-year-old car theft suspect.

The car was recovered on Webster Street.

The teenager is from New Britain and has a criminal history, including an outstanding arrest warrant for auto theft, police said.

There was no word on the teen’s condition.

More range time people, more range time. 3 center mass and one in the brain bucket just for good measure!

Damn! No “D”s today. Oh, well. Maybe tomorrow.

The whole “teens” euphemism is getting ridiculous.

How come these twits aren’t forming a gang and robbing banks, like them there Good Old Days of Yore?

Seriously, they have no imagination. Robbing 7-11s and stealing cars is SO 2009.

Regarding auto thefts: Most of us have our house keys and car keys on the same key chain or key ring. There are cars produced now that can be started and shut off by remote.
So why don’t car manufacturers give car owners the option of a remote shut off with a lo-jack signal if the car starts by key but gets stolen by carjackers?

I want remote airbag deployment and door locks. And a voice box that counts down to deployment.

Nice 26L..My option is living in the country with a 300yd driveway… go ahead, jump in my truck while it’s warming up, and see if you can make it out the drive.. then there’s another half mile of clear field of fire to the main road… And with the coyotes in the area, there’s always a scoped rifle within reach…

Nice, every car is now a BAIT CAR! 🙂

All you need is a remote, “ejection seat” button for the drivers side!

Good point EX-PH2.

The downside which I can see to that, EX-PH2, is that the security on car computers, to put it gently, sux like a Hoover.

I don’t want something that some hijacker could use to disable my vehicle with me in it. Eventually, someone will.
Kind of like the bright idea someone had to make it impossible to turn on and drive a car with the seatbelts unbuckled. When a young lady was trying to escape a rapist and could not start her car in a hurry, she got raped, and the car manufacturer got sued (and lost).

Basic security is still the best strategy. Fewer points of failure.

small charge of C4 under the driver’s seat triggered by a radio detonator? Just be sure to carry comprehensive.

Inexpensive cutoff switches for the ignition are easy to fabricate and conceal. I once foiled a Jetta thief by having the switch in plain sight on the dash – I used a factory VW fog light switch, thinking no thief would turn on lights.

Graybeard

Simple, fail-safe, and effective.
Good strategy there, David.

Yep that works…,my uncle was from chicago and always had a cut off switch hidden somewhere in his car, never had it stolen either lol

Ex-PH2

I’m not anxious to be carjacked, but I figure if it happens, it will be at the grocery store in the parking lot. If so, I have a big mouth and a car alarm for starters.
You have to be prepared for any possibility.

Graybeard

And your concealed-carry cast-iron frying pan, but we won’t let the perps know about that until it hits them.
