From Littleton, Colorado;
Police told Denver7’s Jaclyn Allen the off-duty police officer was asleep in the basement but awoke to someone breaking-in to his home. The officer reportedly heard noise upstairs and shot the suspect from the base of the stairs.
Neighbors were concerned about their safety as word about a possible second suspect spread.
The burglar was DOT (dead over there) a few hours later.
From Forsythe County, Georgia;
A little later, about 2.5 miles away on Keith Bridge Road, a second victim reported bumping into a burglar who stole several items, including their Chevy Tahoe.
In that case, the homeowner got off a shotgun blast as the burglar escaped.
From Rochester, New York;
A man doing repairs outside a city home late Friday night shot a man who attempted to rob him at gunpoint, according to police.
Rochester police said the unidentified repairman was approached by a man with a gun outside the Sixth Street home about 10:15 p.m.
During the confrontation, there was an “exchange of gunfire” between the suspect and man, who is a licensed firearm owner, police said.
The suspect was shot at least once in the lower body and ran from the scene on foot, police said. He was later dropped off at Rochester General Hospital, where he is being treated for a non-life-threatening injury, police said.
The man who was doing repairs was not injured.
