Wednesday morning feel good stories

| August 16, 2017

From Summerfield, Florida;

An intruder armed with a handgun entered the home at 10420 SE 158th Place in the Sunset Harbor area and injured the homeowner’s dog, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told deputies he barricaded himself in a room in the house to get away from the intruder who attempted to forcefully enter the room. He then shot the intruder who then fled. Soon after the home invasion, the suspect was dropped off by unknown persons outside the Ocala Health Summerfield Emergency Room, where he was later pronounced dead.

In Hampton, Virginia;

Police think a 22-year-old Newport News man forced his way inside the residence and began rummaging throughout the home. The homeowner, who was armed with a firearm, was awakened by the alarm and got up to investigate. The suspect charged at the homeowner and was shot one time during the incident, Jenrette said.

The 22-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound that is not believed to be life-threatening, according to Jenrette.

In Canada, a man caught thieves coming out of his house and gave them a good pounding. When one of them tried to escape with his cell phone and wallet, he took a shovel to the head and shoulders of the punk, who had a hammer and a knife. He has the support of his neighbors, but not the government;

Crown prosecutors will have to decide whether the homeowner in this crossed the line.

“The fundamental rule is you can defend yourself, but don’t inflict punishment on those who are breaking into your home. Protect yourself, protect your property, but if you find yourself inflicting punishment, you might be charged,” Schneider said.

The investigator in the case will determine later this week whether or not to recommend charges be laid.

From Anchorage, Alaska;

The man shot at a Jewel Lake four-plex early Tuesday has died, according to Anchorage Police, who describe him as one of two suspects in a “home invasion shooting”.

An updated statement on the shooting in the 3700 block of Core Court near Jewel Lake Road and East 88th Avenue, first reported at about 5:20 a.m., said the man found with a gunshot wound to his torso succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

“One of the residents shot one of the suspects as they were attempting to enter the residence,” police wrote. “Both suspects (adult males) ran off. The injured suspect was found by officers lying in a driveway.”

Texas is as far away from Canada as I can get in the CONUS correct?

Graybeard

I think the southern tip of Florida is further from the Canadian border, but…. Florida.

Eden

I would sooner move back to Calistan or Taxachussetts than to Canada.

Ex-PH2

Canada is right next door to Alaska, isn’t it? Can’t that Canadian guy with common sense move to Alaska?

OldManchu

Good advice right there Ex!

Graybeard

More like the weather he’s used to.

We’re getting too many folks in Texas as it is.

The Virginia homeowner should have applied The Taxpayer Shot and saved the citizens a lot of money in hospital bills, trial and jail costs.

How can we spread the word among the Canuck CITIZENS (as opposed to the serfs) about The Four Esses:
Suppress
Shoot
Shovel
Silence

Sounds like this poor bloke had the ideal situation to combine several steps, seeing that he was using a shovel TO DEFEND HIMSELF anyway.
I wonder how those crown prosecutors would like it if they were to switch places?

The Po-Po are not your friends
The law is not your friend.
The “judicial system” is not your friend.

Ex-PH2

Simplest thing is to sue lawmakers for endangering the lives of voting citizens with the ‘no self-defense’ crap.

I noticed that in the UK now, people are not being prosecuted quite so quickly if they defend themselves from attacks. I think that started this year or late last year, not sure of exactly when, but things are changing slowly over there.

“The fundamental rule is you can defend yourself, but don’t inflict punishment on those who are breaking into your home. Protect yourself, protect your property, but if you find yourself inflicting punishment, you might be charged,”

Well that’s just great! What’s left, harsh language? Protect yourself but don’t inflict any “punishment” doing so. Just how does that work?

Canada, a great place to be a thug.

David

Well, at least we have one example of the effectiveness of shovel-fu.

In other good news, Miss Punkin Squawkypants has proven her skills as a hunter once more and killed the mouse. I have pictures this time. This is 2 for 2.
She has not only earned her catnip for the year, but can sleep on my computer any time she wishes to.
Best mouser EVER!

Eden

Make sure you lock it up so that she doesn’t go shopping on Amazon with your credit card while you’re asleep.

Jeff LPH 3, 63-66

I guess Miss Punkin can take a CAT NAP.
