Fascinating.

From the ‘Hollywoood values’ thread:
“A Cultural Revolution destroys the glue and structure of society to weaken it. Families are to be broken, traditions demolished, manners and respect for others is cast aside, and professionals are replaced with the uneducated.”

That describes an entire generation raised under bodaprez. And they’re blaming Trump for that?
‘Bout that minimum wage thing and contract labor: it is cheaper to hire a contractor and not pay for ACA costs at all than it is to hire the same person as a full-time employee, especially if there is a threat that the minimum wage may be raised to $15/hr.

If only they recognized that they are complaining about the very things they wanted now coming true.

There are still print phone books with those old-fashioned yellow pages. I’m sure it’s easy enough for them to find shrinks at somewhat reasonable fees, to express their angst and get some ‘feelz good’ pills to relieve things.

Meantime, Venezuela is sinking further and further toward the pit of chaos. Maduro wants a vote on a complete rewrite of that country’s constitution, something that will give him the opportunity to fully install himself as dictator. Even many of his former supporters are turning against him now. He’s raising the minimum wage by 50%. But when inflation raises prices every day and there is nothing available, not even rice, it becomes Germany during the Great Depression. A wheelbarrow full of money couldn’t buy a loaf of bread.

It was how Hitler rose to power.

I didn’t understand the point of Tuesdays with Claymore when I sampled it on a couple occasions. Today I devoted a few hours to pursuing the various threads. I was appalled, honestly, at the poisonous language and malicious remarks. I’m happy that most of their acronyms remain a mystery to me. One amusing contention stood out-the widespread conviction that “the press” is a Republican dominated force, unfailing in it’s support of the Administration, a veritable organ of the GOP. Reading the DU (Democratic Underground) today serves the same purpose that had me reading the Manchester Guardian in my youth and, until I could daily predict their crosseyed coverage of current events, Mother Jones.
