Friday morning feel good stories

| June 30, 2017

In Charlotte, North Carolina folks coming home from work encountered thieves in their abode and the encounter turned into a firefight, according to neighbors;

In Birmingham, Alabama;

Acording to the victim’s wife, she said her husband had just got back into town and was sitting inside his car when he saw two men approaching him.

She says one of them reached for his gun, and that’s when her husband shot him.

She said he stumbled into their yard, even leaving his gun behind. That’s when the would be robber jumped into a waiting SUV and sped off.

From Anchorage, Alaska;

A store clerk fired a shot at a theft suspect Wednesday evening in Anchorage.

Just before 7, Anchorage Police responded to Smoker’s Choice in the 3600 block of Minnesota Drive on reports of a theft and shots fired.

According to APD, a white male entered the store and ran out with a carton of cigarettes. The store clerk fired one shot after the suspect, though police say there’s no indication the man was armed or that anyone was injured.

From New York City, New York;

A man pepper sprayed an ex-Marine employee at a Brooklyn gun store during an attempted robbery Wednesday — and then ran off as the worker shot at him, police said.

The suspect walked into DF Brothers Sports Center on New Utrecht Ave. in Bensonhurst and asked to see some of the guns just before 11 a.m.

When the shopkeeper, identified by friends as Frank, a 60-year-old ex-US Marine, asked to see his gun permit, the suspect pulled out the Mace and sprayed him in the face.

The crook then used a hammer to smash a display case and tried to steal some of the guns inside. But he was forced to retreat when Frank came up shooting.

Evidence collection team removes evidence from the gun store, including a shotgun used in self-defense by the owner.Paul Martinka

Police said the injured suspect ran out of the store leaving a trail of blood behind, but could not say with certainty whether he had actually been shot or if he injured himself smashing the display case.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

“A store clerk fired a shot at a theft suspect”

Over a carton of cigarettes?
“He was threatening to make me smoke them and get lung cancer and die your honor”

Dapandico

A gun store in Brooklyn?

About like finding common sense in D.C.

My reaction too.

And about as puzzling as finding out Playboy has a White House correspondent as I also did this week.

Rolling Stone had a political reporter in the ’72 election who became the only journalist to score a one-on-one with Nixon – the one stipulation was that they could ONLY talk football, not politics. At that point RS was considered only a music magazine. (By the way, HST reported that Nixon was incredibly knowledgeable and could easily have been a very successful coach.)

I have learned that there is no such thing as an Ex-Marine.

Y’all are recovering!
