White House Veterans hotline is live

| June 1, 2017

According to Military Times, the White House Veterans’ Complaint Hotline is live;

The phone line — live now at 855-948-2311 — is designed to “collect, process and respond to the complaints of individual veterans in a responsive, timely and accountable manner,” according to Department of Veterans Affairs officials.

VA Secretary David Shulkin on Wednesday described the initial rollout of the line as a soft launch, with “live-answer agents” receiving and processing some of the calls. He promised that by Aug. 15, the hotline will have continuous coverage from a live operator 24 hours a day, every day of the week.

“This is something the president had talked about,” he told reporters. “We’re going to be testing that system starting tomorrow and fine-tuning it over the next several months.”

So there you go, someone to bitch at. According to the VA, all calls are confidential but they may have to ask you for PII to deal with specific cases.

I’d hate to tell the folks at the other end of the line what is about to happen…..(DISCLAIMER, This is a figurative comment on the phone line, not projecting any harm on anything White House related)

Gee, I have no problems. Should I tell them to call me if they do?

C2Show

Yeah, already got a few calls from some folks!

Last few days left working at the VA…don’t give me grief!

Reaperman

And here come the trolls with fake calls concerning the terrors of water fluoridation.

And every “live-answer agent” will have a different answer.

Q: “Am I allowed to smoke my medical marijuana while I am at the VA facility?”

A: “We don’t allow smoking at our facilities”

Q: “So, the VA will deny me my medication?”

A: “No, ahhhh, ummm, you can’t smoke at our facilities”

Q: “But, I gotta have my meds man”

A: ………..click

This should be interesting to watch. Its just more of the same, throwing our tax dollars into a system which is beyond broken. The medical side of the VA needs shutting down. The only thing they should be providing in house is hospice care and perhaps some specialized care for TBI and multiple amputees. Other than that, give us all “insurance cards” and let us find our own doctors/care on the economy.

What could possibly go wrong with any of this.

Yeah, I’m sure that this ‘hotline’ will be very responsive and effective, 24/7. Uh huh.

Veterans will end up talking to rude, apathetic ‘operators’ who can’t (or won’t) even properly conjugate common use verbs in the Standard English language, and who will also absolutely not ever give a shit about anything that a Veteran may need or have to say. Nor will they ever lift a finger to actually help anyone.

This is just another of the VA’s placebos for Veterans. Now suck it up, move along, and do as you’re told.

Sounds like the clerical personnel I encounter during most of my VA visits. Some are really good locally (Dental, MHC); some could give a shit less (PC, Eye). I’m talking of the clerical staff here, not the actual providers, the majority of whom I consider top notch.

Pretty cool though despite the likely amount of baloney they will deal with from frauds. It will really make it easier for veterans to get information they need as the old system was atrocious in terms of “on hold” time.

simply great
