Wednesday morning feel good stories

| March 29, 2017

In Escambia County, Alabama, a family was awakened by the sound of 37-year-old Robert Ryan Delgadillo breaking into their home. The father of the family retrieved his handgun and went hunting for Robert and found him behind the couch. Delgadillo begged the resident to restrain himself from shooting the crook. Police arrived later to find the crook compliant and stretched out on the floor. And unharmed.

Juan Delgado, 65, in Orlando, Florida claims to be a veteran and found himself defending his family and his home from an intruder yesterday. The man stood in Delgado’s doorway claiming to look for landscaping work;

“He says, ‘I’m looking for a landscaping job,’” Delgado said.

Delgado told the man to leave, but said the intruder didn’t listen.

“He pushed me to the side, and I’m kind of scared now. He ran inside my house,” said Delgado.

Fearing for his life and his property, he said he gave the man one last chance, and yelled at him to get out.

“He started coming at me, running at me, so I pulled out my gun and I shot him in his legs,” said Delgato. “I didn’t want to kill him. I just wanted to stop him. I called the cops.”

Delgato said he held his gun over the suspect until Orlando police arrived.

On the bright side, with those debilitating leg wounds, the intruder from Orlando may be able to go the head of the ride lines at Disney World.

jonp

How is he going to run from the alligators?

Wilted Willy

Center mass people, center mass!

Hack Stone

By the time Hack’s wife Rosetta gets ready for mass, we are lucky to find two seats together in the back of the church, let alone in the center.

OldManchu

Delayed spew!!!! But I spewed none the less!

Graybeard

In a Baptist church, on the other hand, you have to come early to get a back-row seat.

Deplorable B Woodman

No “D”s today. (sigh) Oh well, not every day can be a perfect day.

It isn’t necessary to fire your gun if the bad guy is compliant with your order to stop. Don’t let him get into your “Circle of Safety”, though, or he may have your weapon to use against you. Fortunately, in both instances here, the homeowner was able to hold the bad guy at gunpoint until police arrived, with only one of them having to shoot the thug.

Ex-PH2

Note to potential temp employees: landscaping jobs are at greenhouses and golf courses.

Are all crooks really this dumb?

OldManchu

Not dumb at all. I think what he meant to say is…

“I’m here to volunteer as future compost.”

Dapandico

Was he carrying a Mexican bagpipe?

Well I see a lawsuit coming against the home owner. As Gordon Liddy once said, “Double tap them. It so uncomplicates things at the inquest when there is just your testimony.

OldManchu

Shot him in the legs? Yeah right, that’s just your feel good cover up excuse because you missed his chest.

Your dumbass statement gives credibility to all the “they did’n have to shoot ma’ boy I know he wunnt’ doin’ right but they coulda just shot he legs” crowd.

Eden

Too many people don’t understand that a criminal hopped up on drugs will not necessarily be stopped by shooting him in the legs or other efforts to merely would him.

OldManchu

Exactly. Nor do they realize that if a criminal is charging them they’ll be lucky to actually put rounds into the body anywhere, much less an intentional “leg shot.”

We had a police involved shooting here a few years ago. Unfortunately both of the police officers and the dead citizen were all veterans from Iraq and / or Afghanistan. But the perp charged with a machete after a tense standoff and they used deadly force and shot him and killed him. The cry for “why didn’t they just shoot him in the leg” was loud and wide spread.
