Friday morning feel good stories

Deputy Terry Harper stopped off for coffee on his way to work in Cincinnati, Ohio;

…a masked man came in and tried to rob the cashier. He says Harper drew his gun, then fired when 20-year-old Simeon Thomas pointed his gun at him.

Police said Harper’s shot missed, but Thomas dropped his weapon and tried to flee. Police said Harper arrested him, with a Cheviot police officer assisting.

I don’t know whether we did this one or not. It happened in Acworth, Georgia;

The suspect, Deandre Antonio Yates, 20, entered the Subway restaurant and demanded money Monday morning. A maintenance worker on the scene accessed a personal firearm and shot Yates in the chest, who fled the scene on foot.

Police were dispatched to Kennesaw Urgent Care for a gunshot victim on Tuesday matching their description of the robber from the previous day.

Yates has been transferred to Kennestone Hospital for medical treatment and is now in custody of Cobb County’s Sheriff’s department.

In Orange County, Florida, a self-solving problem;

Deputies in Orange County say a suspected armed robber accidentally shot himself moments before he was arrested early Wednesday.

Investigators were called to the Royal Palms West Apartments near the Millenia Mall to check on a gunshot victim.

Deputies said that during the investigation they learned that the gunshot victim was suspected in a robbery at the apartment complex.

He was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Three accomplices were also taken into custody, deputies said.

From Detroit, Michigan;

“I would have given him money if he asked for money,” Dennis said.

But the attempted robber wasn’t begging, instead demanding cash at gunpoint.

“Just shocked we were getting robbed,” Latanya said.

Dennis and his girlfriend, Latanya, didn’t have much time to react. The couple and another customer started throwing their money and wallets on the floor.

“It wasn’t a plan. It was just instinct. He had the gun in my girl’s face,” Dennis said.

But little did the robber know Dennis was ready and waiting for an opportunity.

“When I saw he had the gun in her face, and I threw my wallet down and keys, he turned to look and get the money, that’s when I lit him up,” Dennis said.

Dennis pulled out his gun, [the bullet] striking the robber once in the stomach. He then kicked the robber’s gun away, then tended to the robber turned-victim.

“I feel for him. I’m hurting that I had to do that, but he left me no choice,” Dennis said.

From San Antonio, Texas;

According to an arrest warrant affidavit back on Feb. 8 the victim said he happened to walk into his bedroom from outside his home and found Pajee Rollings, 26, wearing some of his clothes and taking some of his belongings.

The affidavit said the pair began fighting and that’s when Rollings pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim.

The two men fought over the gun and Rollings ended up being shot, the affidavit said.

5 Instances of thugs putting their life and freedom on the line, just to be able to steal a little cash or goods. If they have that little regard for their own lives, do you think that they care about yours. Be aware, be armed, be proficient in your usage of the weapon.

It appears that more and more citizens are fed up with being victims and are responding in ways that are hazardous to those in the thug life career field.

I saw the story from Detroit a few weeks ago, but it is still good.

The Ohio cop needs some range time, IMHO.

and in Houston, a store clerk did not want to be robbed by two guys. He asked one of the robbers to remain with fatal shots, the other immediately got in the wind and is sought by the po-po as we speak.

Avoid dangerous situations. Stay out of coffee shops, sub shops, barber shops and sidewalks.

I prefer bear spray, but use your own judgement.

I read this daily, and I read too many instances where a Well Placed One More Shot would have saved the local population mucho dinero taxes in hospital care, a trial, and incarceration costs.

So remember, boys and girls, ladies and gents, if and when you find youself in “that situation”, you know, stopping a robbery, a theft, a hold up, an irate boyfriend who won’t take a hint and stay away, remember to use that Well Placed One More Shot. Your fellow citizens will thank you for the savings.
