Linwood Kaine arrested
Tim Kaine’s son, Linwood, yes, Linwood, was arrested in Minneapolis for taking part in an attempt to disrupt a pro-Trump rally, according to Fox News. You might remember that Tim Kaine was Hillary Clinton’s running mate in her failed attempt to be our president. So Linwood’s actions might have been personal;
Linders said Kaine was seen with four people who lit fireworks in the capitol and fled. Police were investigating whether Kaine lit a firework, the newspaper reported.
Linders said Kaine and the group were arrested a block from the capitol. He said police tracked Kaine and the group down and arresting officers had to use “some force” to take him into custody.
I wonder why fireworks were the chosen medium here. Because it sounds like gunfire?
Sen. Kaine, from St. Paul, released a statement to the Pioneer Press Tuesday night.
“We love that our three children have their own views and concerns about current political issues,” he said. “They fully understand the responsibility to express those concerns peacefully.”
Well, I’m glad that Linwood isn’t anywhere near the White House with that kind of upbringing.

If you look at the 2016 election map by county, the state went for Trump except for the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and the sparsely populated far northern counties, which I suspect have large Native American populations.

I’m wondering if some kind of Electoral College should be implemented on the state level to prevent the tyranny of the Majority in these kind of situations.

Advocated for years that Electoral College votes should not be winner-take-all. If 51% of a state goes one way, the other 49% of the votes are effectively invalidated. Split the vote to the nearest whole number (ie. from 13 votes, in this case they split 7-6) and get EVERYONE’S votes counted.
The number of EC votes was supposed to increase as the population increased.
Actually they are supposed to be the exact same number as the members of Congress from each state. Which they are. You want to increase EC members, you have to increase the size of Congress
Every vote cast does count. It’s just that some votes are cast for the losers and others are cast for the winners. Talk about inequity. How is it that Wyoming and California have the exact same number of senators?
