Saturday morning feel good stories

| November 26, 2016

Two men forced their way into the home of a 75-year-old man in Detroit, Michigan. One escaped injury, the other was found DRT (dead right there) collapsed in the old man’s backyard.

In Bangor, Maine, a homeowner was able to discourage two burglars when he showed them that he was armed.

Jimmy Nguyen broke into James Wiedman’s Lubbock, Texas home through a back window. During the resulting altercation, Nguyen bit off part of Wiedman’s ear in the struggle. Wiedman retaliated with a knife. When the police arrived, Nguyen was DRT (dead right there). Wiedman has been treated for his injuries.

Picking someone in their 70s to rob, rather than someone younger is really dumb. We older types are aware that we can’t go “toe to toe” for as long as the younger ones, so we use other means of defending ourselves. Most of us do this with firearms. Some of us are pretty damned good at hitting what we need to. At home or when out and about, I have one or more firearms very close to me, and keep my head on a swivel so that I can avoid surprise.

NavyEODguy

You got that right, Frankie.

At 65, I know I ain’t what I used to be. Like the saying goes: Lord, if today is the day you’re calling me home, let them find my body in a great pile of empty brass.

Cast iron skillets work quite well, too, Frankie, especially the larger ones. I always have one on the stovetop.

Claw

Ex. is your stove still on the fritz?

I just saw a FREE gas stove in the Chicago area Craig’s List in Park Ridge.

The gal who’s giving it away says it’s in perfect working order.

Only drawback is you have to like Avocado Green. (Flashback to the 70’s)

Check it out. Maybe worth your while. The ad was posted on Nov 24, so better hurry. It could already be gone by now.

Ex-PH2

Well, the stovetop works. I just don’t use the oven. But avocado green — eewww! There’s an appliance store not too far from me that has reconditioned stoves (show-room floor models) at modest prices and will take away my old stove. I will just set money aside for replacing the stove, and meantime, not worry about it.

I made chocolate chip cookies last night.

Claw

Oh, I guess I should have added that the gal who posted the ad says the stove has to be lugged up a flight of stairs which has 10 steps, so I guess an appliance cart, two men and a truck need to be involved.

So maybe the stove won’t go as fast as originally thought.

But, Hey, I’m thinking about you and your need for a stove.

Ex-PH2

I appreciate the sentiment, Claw!

Claw

You’re Welcome, Ma’am.

I was half expecting today’s feel good story to be the glorious death of the Cuban douchebag Castro.

11B-Mailclerk

I was about to add that to the thread!

Hopefully, Cuba may now move towards freedom.

NR Pax

Not with the remaining Castros still in power. But it’s worth hoping for.

Roh-Dog

If you tune to the MSM left-leaning networks you’ll here somber music like the guy was a damn Saint.
I’m not pro-celebration of death in general but FFS.

Frankie Cee "In the Clear"

“MSM left-leaning networks”? Those that also revere Che Guevara? Par for the course, look who they admired most in the recent POTUS campaign. You weren’t surprised, were you?

Roh-Dog

I’m just disappointed. I can not fathom why the so-call educated, elite left would practically beatify this tyrannical douche’s passing.
Unless you’re saying that it’s………intentional.
What. The. Actual. Fuck.

jonp

Always bring a knife to a food fight

Sapper3307

Fidel Castro is worm food! That’s a feel good story.

Ex-PH2

Ding dong, the Goat is dead!
