Here’s At Least One Democrat Who “Gets It”

| November 18, 2016

Yeah, they still exist.  This article proves it.

Short version:  she was an untrustworthy, crappy candidate who couldn’t convince the American public to elect her.  End of story.

Very true.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Yep that pretty well nails it….

Charismatic young black man replaced with boring old white lady…with a ton of corruption baggage dragging along behind her.

Graybeard

A gleam of hope for sanity in the D@mn0crats?

Wow.

UpNorth

I have full faith in the dems that they will elect Ellison head of the DNC, further alienating those left in the left wing party.

desert

yeh, putting a stinking muslim as head of the DNC should make things “just dandy”!

ex-OS2

The Twitchy Bitch of Benghazi is the epitome of an establishment politician with a huge trail of shit following her, that is why she lost, in my opinion.

desert

OK…I thought that was slime, you know, like a slug!

Ex-PH2

Spot-on analysis.

HMCS(FMF) ret

Cankles McPantsuit is the poster child for the term “professional politician” who is so out of touch with what concerns ordinary people, or as she liked to call me and many others, the “deplorables”.

There is a special level of Hell waiting for her and her type…

Generally speaking, after 8 years of a single incumbent from one party, it is almost impossible for the other party not to win the White House. There are only a few exceptions – George H.W. Bush won after 8 years of Reagan, and Truman won after 14 years of Roosevelt. Before that you have to go all the way back to Hayes succeeding Grant. History was not in her favor, either.

Martinjmpr

Yes, this is definitely a factor – I call it the “Presidential Hat Trick” (i.e. 3 successive administrations controlled by the same party.) Because of the pendulum swing of American politics, by the time any party has been in power 8 years it’s tough for them to keep the white house just because the opposition has had 8 years to work.

desert

no, its because after 8 years they screwed up everything they touched! And the public “finally” noticed and said ENOUGH!

Claw

OK. Got it.

I guess the events of April 12th, 1945 and the size of Truman’s balls in mopping up WWII had nothing to do with him wresting control of the White House away from the Democrats.

He simply won at the polls.

Thanks for the history lesson.

Claw

Disregard my comment. I’m wrong.

Sorry about that.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Chalk it up to a lack of sugar and caffeine…

desert

Even then, some rag of a paper put out an issue with “Dewey Defeats Truman” on the front….sound familiar, history always repeats itself to those that listen!

Eden

Uh-oh. Now they’re gonna take away his Party credentials. He’ll be a pariah in his own party for daring to not toe the line and spout the approved rhetoric.

Martinjmpr

Self-deception is always key in defeat. The biggest lie the Democrats have been telling themselves since the 1990’s was that there was something called “The Clinton Magic” that somehow covered all of the Clintons in a Teflon coating.

What they refused to understand was that the “Clinton Magic” was actually the “BILL Clinton Magic.” Hillary never had it and Chelsea likely does not either.

Like him or hate him, you have to admit that Bill has a certain aw-shucks charm and an ability to get people to give him things (or in the case of women, to drop their drawers.) He had a charisma that few presidents have had and THAT was the key to his success.

Hillary has never had that, and so from the outset, she had a steep hill to climb.

IMO Bernie Sanders success in the primaries had very little to do with the wrinkled old socialist and his wrinkly ideas, and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that Hillary is such a monumentally unlikeable person.

It should have been a warning to the Democrats, but of course, they shut their eyes, put their fingers in their ears and said “LALALALALA I’M NOT LISTENING” when anyone tried to point out what a terrible candidate she was.

Because to the Democratic establishment, still in thrall of Bill Clinton, it was “her turn.”

MSG Eric

Bill and Hillary have never had sex, Chelsea is a clone of Hillary. That’s my conspiracy theory.

But, they said the same thing in 2008, she lost because she’s not Bill. She doesn’t have any charisma, let alone the level he does.

And when it comes down to them rigging the election in her favor, it was all about her power base and getting the position she “deserved”. Heaven forbid she not be the first Woman President. People who didn’t vote for her hate women, must be that….

A Proud Infidel®™

Chelsea JUST MIGHT be a Foster Child!

UpNorth

Precisely! Wideload is, first, last and always, just an unlikeable person. As you pointed out, it’s likely that Webb Hubbell’s daughter, Chelsea, is just like mom, unlikeable.

desert

Reagan had that charm, BIG TIME….and he was CLEAN, unlike the dirty, communist, rapist, pedophile bubba!

MSG Eric

When Michael Moore is supporting Trump voters and telling everyone why they won, you should really stop and listen democrats.

Hell, even their comedy prophet Jon Stewart talked about the utter hypocrisy of this election and why they lost. As liberally leaning as he is, the democrats should do some self-assessment.

At the end of the day, in 2008 Republicans lost BIG. Instead of complaining about losing and attacking the Dems and saying how racist and bigoted they were, they analyzed what happened and fix shit.

Since then, 2010, 2012, 2016, they’ve won big. Very big. And what happens? Democrats and their supporters (paid or not) are whining about how unfair it is, wearing diaper pins, crying about it, etc.

They failed and don’t want to accept it. So they’ll keep on doing the same stupid stuff that caused them to give up power to the Republicans and keep losing unless they stop it and listen to the likes of Jon Stewart and this article writer. Quite a few democrats/liberals are trying to say it, but the rest of them really need to stop and listen.

Eden

Hey, I’ll not complain if the Dems keep shooting themselves in the foot.

Valerie

I will. I want a capable, decent party that represents legitimate concerns of some portion of the national constituency. It’s a big country, and the cardinal mistake the Democrats in Congress made was to ignore all input from the Repubs on important legislation.

MSG Eric

I also prefer a “balance” where you don’t just have one point of view either way. If we’re going to have 2 major parties, they need to have some balance.

The problem is, extreme left democrats have taken over and gotten their way instead of being the example of “this is what happens when you get too liberal” so democrats kept things moderate.

desert

It damned sure doesn’t have to be the communist part of the dumocraps tho….how about the liberty party, nice “ring” to it, oops 😉

Airdale (AW) USN ret.

Important legislation?? Remember Repubs voted no to everything.

Valerie

Clinton herself is not the only person to blame. The Clinton Campaign and the extreme media collusion with it were readily visible, even without the Project Veritas videos and the many leaks from many different sources.

Reddit did a completely unscientific solicitation of stories about how people came to support Trump, and their ability to detect outright media lies was very strong. For the Bernie supporters, it was the election fraud in the primaries. By election fraud I include the use of superdelegates, but there were also substantial numbers of Bernie voters and delegates who were completely deprived of their primary votes.

And while all of this was going on, DJT was telling them the system was rigged.

MSG Eric

And the media bias and all the “polls” proclaiming her the winner didn’t help either. People stayed home instead of voting because she was a “sure thing”.

But then, it also shows how her own ego fails her time and again. If the media had been saying “Trump is leading!” and “we need everyone to vote this year!” all along, who knows what would’ve happened. But her entourage of MSM and politicians stating she’d be winning handily helped her lose.

FTA:
“The bottom line is this: my party lost because the American people wanted change, and Clinton was too flawed and too untrustworthy to own that mantle.”

Sometimes even a blind chipmunk stumbles across the occasional ACORN.

Eden

Ha! I see what you did there. . .

E-6 type, 1 ea

The Democrats haven’t been this pissed off about an election since the Republicans took their slaves away.

MSG Eric

I have a friend named Chad and he says the therapy about those hanging chads is finally starting to pay off.

Martinjmpr

Something else just occurred to me: Identity politics.

Identity politics is inherently divisive (indeed, being divisive is pretty much the whole point of identity politics.)

Democrats tried to have it both ways: They used identity politics to appeal to blacks, women, latinos, gays, etc (IOW they said “we are YOUR candidate and will do things FOR YOU to the exclusion of the white majority) and then thought that they could get rural whites to vote for them by threatening to call them RACIST if they didn’t.

What they clearly didn’t understand is that you can do that in the public sphere (if you have a collusive press to help you) but once people get into the voting booth, you no longer have the power to use accusations of racism to intimidate them.

To put it in simpler terms, for rural or rust-belt white voters, they didn’t leave the democratic party, the democratic party left them.

On 9/12/01, the country was unified in a way not seen since Pearl Harbor. Within a few days, the media began jumping on Bush for not jumping up in front of a class of little kids and running out. They then jumped on him for flying around in the airborne presidential limo when, in point of fact, this was both wise and demanded by his security team. He had to say later, ‘Dammit. Let’s get back to D.c.’ The media in this country suck and do much to assist in the balkanization of the population. Issues are, as you say, played to particular to race, ethnic, and religious groups. What’s best for America and Americans? That’s what we want to hear.

Grimmy

Clinton is a career criminal with no part of her adult life not involved in gross levels of blatant criminality.

There is not now, nor was there ever, any rational excuse to support that woman for anything other than spending whatever’s left of her degenerate life in prison.

That so many people are both stupid and morally corrupt enough to vote for her or anyone associated in any way with her, only goes to prove that it’s a fool’s dream that there’s any hope for a peaceful resolution to this divide in our country.

A divide created and constantly exacerbated by those who invented the Clintons as politicals in the first place.

jonp

Apparently Kanye West also gets it. He went on a 40min rant at his last “concert” going after cankles and praising Trump. Got bad enough that some of his peeps boo’d and walked out

Yeah, I’m stunned too.

MSG Eric

He’s doing it purposely to get some attention. That’s why he married Kim, for the attention. She’s an attention whore and he’s an Attention “fluffer”.

UpNorth

Yeah, Kanye said he’s grooming himself to run for president in 2020. Seriously. Well, seriously for him, laughs for anyone with a functioning brain.
Meanwhile, Kim is busy trying to drag her sisters over to Every Town for Gun Control, so they “can do something about gun violence”.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

I thought she lost because Podesta said she smelled like piss and cabbage. …

farmgirl with a mosin nagant

I strongly suspect that with Clinton having gone down in flames, the Dems’ next pick is going to be Warren. It checks off the right boxes on their social justice bs (female, socialist/borderline communist, publicly stated minority roots), giving her the appeal that Sanders had without being an elderly (gasp – Jewish!) white man, and she’s also more part of their system already.

The Dems already are on the warpath (poorly named, considering they couldn’t win an organized battle with a borrowed general and a willing platoon, if they could find one) so I expect them to come out more strongly in the next election(s) – in 2 years and in 4. No matter how things go with Trump, I think it’s an excellent idea to plan for their pushback plans.

I’m also not just pulling this out of thin air; they’re being very outspoken about this. I’m already looking at changing where I buy my spices from, as the place I’ve ordered from for the past, oh, decade or so, decided this week was a fine time to shrilly beat (and browbeat) a bully drum. Because the best way to pursue free enterprise is to nag consumers about how they choose to pursue their civil liberties and civic responsibilities.

MSG Eric

And since most of them are anti-gun, that warpath is paved with dildos and bongs.

Ex-PH2

What’s the name of that company?

Inserting their political opinions into their business is a surefire way to annoy customers, who will take their money elsewhere.

farmgirl with a mosin nagant

Penzey’s Spices. It’s a shame, I like their products and their prices, and they’ve been reliable – but I don’t need to be hectored from a political bully pulpit.

If anyone’s interested I’ll see if I still have the emails in question.

Ex-PH2

What’s the name of that company? I will be sure to avoid it.

No business should be hammering its customers, especially long-time customers, with political crap, period.

I got a kick out of comedian Rob Schneider’s tweet; “I haven’t seen the Democrats this mad since we freed the slaves!”

Speaking of people who DON’T get it, tops on my list is that genius Karl Rove. He all but guaranteed a Clinton victory, repeatedly faulting Trump for one thing after another. You might recall he also all but guaranteed a Ken Doll (i.e., Mitt Romney) victory in 2012. He is the quintessential D.C. insider, the very sort of person whom the voters rejected in choosing Trump. Bet he has soft, clammy hands and wears a man bra.

A Proud Infidel®™

I say FUCK Karl Rove. IMHO he’s part of the PROBLEM today, he’s part of the buddy-buddy Good ‘Ole Boy DC Insider Club that has caused the vast majority of the problems we have today. He’s part of the inner circle that gave us dud candidates like Bob Dole, McCain and Romney, groomed insiders trained to respond like their handlers tell them to which have cost us elections and I blame some of the failures of GW Bush on him because KARL ROVE SUCKS as a coach, GW Bush should have told him to fuck off while he ate shit and sniffed fire hydrants instead of listening to him.

Ex-PH2

This young lady has some pertinent things to say regarding bodaprez’s last days in office.

There’s another more recent video in which she indicates that she thinks some sort of massive protest is going to take place during the inauguration on January 20. That would not surprise me at all. I’ve had that feeling myself.

Just An Old Dog

The Democrats have went out of their way to woo the votes of everyone but straight white males.
They went even farther than that by openly saying that straight white males are the problem with this country.
In short they did the EXACT same thing to SWMs that they say was done to females, LGBTs and minorities.
They stereotyped them and tried to set the people they supposedly support against them.
Unfortunately for them there are still minorities, females and members of the LGBT community that either 1. Have a lot of the same values of the SWMs or 2. Were so put off by Canckles McHogJowls they didnt bother to vote

It appears that my suspicions about Duterte (P.I.) were accurate, although ‘suspicions’ is probably not the most accurate word to use. He’s fed up with his country being treated like a backwater 5th cousin by the USA, and is wending his way into relations with China – almost a done deal – and Russia.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-apec-summit-philippines-russia-idUSKBN13F09V

He’s also making his neighbors nervous because their major concern is a Chinese hegemony. His annoyance at US criticism of his method of dealing with drug dealers is growing. Well, geeze, Louise, even the Japanese are getting tired of some of the crap the USA has been pulling on them.

Even if Trump can mend fences with Duterte, it may all be thrown out the window by his successor. As others of you have observed, the effects and consequences are long term and frequently not understood by so-called analysts and political insiders.

And in addition, Venezuela’s crippled and nearly-dead economy is losing what little employment opportunities it offered as multinational companies like Clorox and Kimberly-Clark are selling off or giving away their facilities in Venezuela.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-economy-idUSKBN13A0HA

It may seem like something one should not take seriously, but it isn’t just US-owned companies doing this. Any guesses on what’s next?

Anyone?
