Nailing the Networks

| September 28, 2016

Political cartoonists are in a tough, very competitive business, having to be many more things than just gifted artistically. They must be politically intuitive in an absolutely up to the minute manner so that their creative gifts can evoke at least a chuckle and more hopefully a gleeful belly laugh from a far more sophisticated audience than those artists who draw for the funny papers.
One of the best of the current lot is Antonio Branco, who has an uncanny ability to come up with imagery that conveys more truth and insight into our current political state than the wisest of political pundits could impart in several paragraphs of sage observations. This latest Branco creation does just that:

Branco

America has never witnessed an election where the unbridled support of the media for one candidate and one party has been so in-your-face-America, brazenly obvious as what is going on now. Even so, it seems the Democrats have saddled themselves with a sick old socialist simply because in their goosestep minds it’s time for a woman president and this obviously debilitated contender is what they just happened to have waiting in the wings. Waiting a long time—so long in fact that it has just become an assumption by those on the left that Hillary is entitled to our presidency, as if it is her presidency, not an idea that goes down very well with those of us who are fed up with the sense of entitlement that pervades so many of Clinton’s supporters.

Looking at Branco’s spot-on art, one can only hope that those in-the-tank networks will keep pushing until their rigid goddess of big government pitches forward into a very long, steep drop.
Mr. Branco, you nailed it…

It makes me sick

I seriously hope that Trump Wins in November so these freaks can take a giant bite of the shit sandwich they so richly deserve.

Today’s mainstream mess media are to the dhimmirat party like Pravda was to the communist party in the USSR, ’nuff said!

Thanks for mentioning him. I also like Ramarize’s (sp?) stuff.

CC Senor

Michael Ramirez always seems to nail the topic of the day. Only once have I seen him get the imagery wrong. I never thought Ramirez was implying a threat to Bush in the referenced cartoon, but Gen Loan’s action during Tet 68 was justified.

Oh, poor little Trump won’t get help from “The Media.” They’re all just a bunch of big meanies, picking on his poor widdle feewings. Boo-fucking-hoo, can anyone hand him some $100 bills to dry his tears? Maybe if he behaved like a normal human being every once in a while and showed some decency and manners, he might actually find some supporters. Instead, all he has is people who are against Hillary, but not necessarily for him. And what ever happened to Breitbart and Fox News? Aren’t they shilling for the GOP anymore? Don’t they count as “The Media” as well?

Usafvet509

Misdirection and redirection of focus doesn’t work here, troll.

Some Guy

But name-calling does? Get a life.

Silentium Est Aureum

Manners and decency?

And Hillary Clinton does have them?

Bwwwwaaaahahahahaha!!!!!

Some Guy

Compared to Trump? Absolutely.

Hondo

Decency? Clintoon?

You’re joking, right?

Some Guy

No argument there, when it comes to decency in the moral sense. But I think you know that I wasn’t talking about that, right? I stand by my statement: compared to Hillary, Trump’s manners when speaking and interacting with other people are extremely lacking. And if he wasn’t such an asshole all the time, he would have more supporters, especially within the GOP.

Hondo

Actually, you gave no context. So no, it wasn’t clear that you were referring to public speaking only.

Generally, when someone refers to an individual having “decency”, they’re not meaning “being polite in conversation”. That is usually expressed differently – with one example being the term “manners”, which both you and SEA used. Using both implies a different intent for the term “decency”. I therefore interpreted it as most would: e.g., as being used to connote decency in the moral sense.

If such an uncommon meaning for “decency” was your intent, your language above did not clearly indicate that at all.

Hey Kool-Aid poodle, how about Whitewater where a number of honest hardworking peoe lost their life’s savings while the Clintons profited? How about the people who have turned up DEAD before testifying about them? Travelgate all the way to her emails and Benghazi where four Americans were abandoned to be murdered and violated by muslim savages while response units were repeatedly told to stand down? Are you just a Kool-Aid head or a paid Soros troll?

Some Guy

Yup, cuz anyone who doesn’t agree with your world view must be a paid stooge. For the record: I am not voting for Hillary. I am not voting for Trump. I might write in Mickey Mouse (or maybe the real Donald, who may not be human, but actually has some military experience, unlike these clowns), but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
I am in agreement that Hillary is crooked. But I don’t buy Trump’s cry-bullying every time something doesn’t go his way. Besides, didn’t he win the debate despite everyone plotting against him? http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/09/28/trump-says-he-won-debate/91212500/

Nobody cares if you got paid.

Exactly…

Well, a write in is pretty much gonna help hitlery, so you might just as well go for the gusto and vote for her anyway.

I’m not a huge fan of Trump either. I like maybe 15% of what he has to say, but that’s a whole lot more than the >0.05% that I like about her.

ex-OS2

Some Guy,

Sure, just throw caution to the wind and vote for Lars “Zika-Commie” Taylor.

Cornholio

And “Uranium One”:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/us/cash-flowed-to-clinton-foundation-as-russians-pressed-for-control-of-uranium-company.html?_r=0

“The article, in January 2013, detailed how the Russian atomic energy agency, Rosatom, had taken over a Canadian company with uranium-mining stakes stretching from Central Asia to the American West. The deal made Rosatom one of the world’s largest uranium producers and brought Mr. Putin closer to his goal of controlling much of the global uranium supply chain.

But the untold story behind that story is one that involves not just the Russian president, but also a former American president and a woman who would like to be the next one.”

VN vet too

You left out the rest of the story where the Russians “donated” 2.8 million dollars to the Clinton Foundation first. Explains why Hillary approved the sale as was required by Secretary of State. She’s crookeder than a dogs hind leg. (sorry dogs, didn’t mean to insult you). Hillary is probably the biggest criminal in the USA today.

Papago Joe

What’s up Billary how is the new world order working for you

I have chased down one “outrageous” statement of Trump’s after another, only to find that his speech is more temperate and accurate than a large number of prominent Democrats, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John F’n Kerry, and Elizabeth Warren, as well as Hillary supporters such as Bob Beckel and Michael Grunwald.

I am not going to put all of the links here, because these events have already been a topic of discussion, here.

Also, I did not intend to flag your comment, only reply to it. It’s stupid but not banally offensive.

Some Guy

Off the top of my head I can only think of the “basket of deplorables” or “something out of the special olympics” comments as even being remotely as offensive as what leaves Donny’s Trumphole on a regular basis, but I’m sure we could sit here all day trading links on who said the dumbest shit. Instead, to save some time, I propose to agree to disagree.

Yes, Trump is a little rough and tumble as President Teddy Roosevelt was. Roosevelts party elites didn’t want him as president either. But the people did and voted him in for two terms. Why? Because he got things done. That’s what Trump will do, not being held back by all the high rollers as Hillary will be if she gets voted in. Long ago and far away, the Democrat party used to be a good party made up of good people. That disappeared gradually after the death of JFK. Now the dem party is terrible and the supporters are stuck in the mud continuing to vote dem no matter if the devil or deviless in this case, were running. It is a shame they have ruined the USA so much. After 246 years of patriots fighting for this country and destroyed in only 8 years by Obama and his henchmen, including Hillary who said she and womanizer/draft dodger Bill were broke when they left the white house. Now they have made hundreds of millions of dollars illegally and still getting away with it. Don’t support these crooks even if the FBI and the AG do at Obama’s orders. Obama promised change and he did change this country into something unrecognizable and disgusting.

John Robert Mallernee

I just now learned that the radio program of Michael Savage, “THE SAVAGE NATION”, was pulled off the air nationwide, because he talked about Hillary Clinton’s health issues, and mentioned the drug, LEVODOPA, which is used to treat Parkinson’s Disease.

I would take anything you read on Alex Jones’ site with a HUGE grain of salt. Like maybe a 1″ cube of rock salt.

JarHead Pat

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH

John Robert Mallernee

@ CHIP NASA, Et Alii :

So, is Michael Savage PERMANENTLY off the air, or was it just that one particular broadcast being censored?

Derek

he was on yesterday recounting what happened…so he’s back on.

Is that the magic carpet of weed?

She’s a grandma. She’s in poor health. She should go home and enjoy however much time she has left to know her grandchildren.

It appears that being human simply isn’t enough for her. I have never seen such scum and villainy all wrapped up in one package.

The San Antonio Express News had two political cartoonists when I first subscribed. When they dropped conservative Leo Garza and kept liberal John Branch, I knew it wasn’t going to be long before that subscription got cancelled.

Excellent!

Terrific cartoon! Hahahahaha, teehee.

One slight correction, unless he hasn’t drawn anything in a while, this isn’t his latest. This came out around the time of the DNC convention.

True, Twist. There’s this one, which was done this week, post debate.

The first real job I ever had was working for a small-town newspaper while still in high school. It was the kind of back-shop scut work that was to being in the news business roughly equivalent to how cleaning up after circus elephants is to being in show business. Still, I liked the job, and found the atmosphere of a paper to be like no other. Years later, working as the editor of a small-town paper, it was still the kind of job you didn’t hate getting up in the morning and going to do. Back in the day, we were taught that the press had a responsibility in the Jeffersonian sense of being the thing that oiled the gears of public discourse. And the best way to do that was to be fair and accurate. We were also taught that what we were doing was not only for the immediate need of readers, but also as a matter of providing some of the building blocks for the historical record. Although I tend to agree with most of the TAH crew that the media is biased, my own interest is in how it got that way, and what to do about it. Here’s a possible theory and partial explanation: Hillary Clinton has been running for President ever since she lost the primaries to Barack Obama in 2008. In all that time, there has been a lot of effort put in to both raise a lot of money, and to set up close personal contacts with members of the media. Hillary doesn’t have press conferences; she has carefully controlled one-on-one interviews. Part of the reason for this is that she doesn’t like talking to the press as a snarling pack, and very much doesn’t like dealing with the public in general. Contrast this to Donald Trump whose entire campaign has pretty much been a low-budget effort taken directly to voters. It seems to me this goes a long way to explaining both how Trump managed to get through the winnowing of the primary process, and how badly the press has been… Read more »

“Hillary Clinton has been running for President ever since she lost the primaries to Barack Obama in 2008”.

Hillary Clinton has been running for President since January 20, 1993.

OWB

An argument could be made that her presidential run began a couple of decades before even 1993. 😉

UpNorth

I believe her run for president started before she said “I do” with Slick. He was a calculated decision on her part.

HMC Ret

Chelsea is probably warming up for the Clintoon trifecta. I note she says all the ‘right’ things so little can return to bite her in the ass if she decides to run.

OWB

You have articulated well the responsibility that comes with having a right, specifically a right enumerated by the Bill of Rights. It seems from the peanut gallery over here that the media (which “the press” has come to mean) has forgotten the balance they are expected to maintain between their right and the responsibility they have to inform correctly. By forgetting they actually imperil the very right which is so important to them, and ultimately to us.

MSG Eric

And I thought Mitt Romney had it tough.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

If that debate wasn’t indicative of the anyone but Trump media bias I don’t know what is…when asked about her home server Holt asked no follow up questions, none…

I might have asked what Comey’s brother does for a living and how that might affect his ability to pay Comey back the nearly million dollar mortgage he holds on his brother’s home…I might have asked if Comey had any apparent or non-apparent conflicts of interest due to serving on the boards of major donor to the Clinton foundation…But nope Holt sat there with his dick in his hand playing with himself while Clinton admitted it was a mistake…if so why a mistake? He didn’t even ask that obvious follow up.

Holt’s a fucking dipshit, and it was there for all the world to see.

thebesig

They’ve been “in your face” on the side of the Democrats for the last few elections, and they’ve been this way for a long time. Yes, it’s getting worse, as evidenced by now, but this has been an issue for a while, where the media stacks the deck against the conservatives.

Bernard Goldberg, who worked for CBS for decades, wrote three books on this bias:

Bias
Arrogance
A Slobbering Love Affair

Ann Coulter advanced books on the same topic:

Slander
Treason

There’s another book that was written on bias in the New York Times.

This has been an active campaign that has been building up. This is part of the reason to why Fox News and many other conservative media started off strong, and did well long after they started.

I remember, in the 1980s, when the media talked about Reagan being too old, too sick (possible mental issues), to be president… yet ignore actual medical issues with Hillary Clinton, who’s also old. Not much there on her qualifications to be president because of that either.

Those books are good reads if you guys get a chance to read them.

Ex-PH2

Oh, hey!!! The Taliban don’t like Trump. They think he’s too ‘non-serious’.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-taliban-idUSKCN11Y1I0

And they will continue their ‘struggle'(?) until they are kicked out of Afghanistan.

Well, didn’t we do that once already? I seem to recall an episode in which US troops went into Afghanistan to stop their abusive treatment of locals, or something like that. But what do I know? I just watched that stuff on C-Span a lot.

The worst candidate in our nations history. If she was running against anyone but Trump she would have been stomped into the mud by now.

It irritates the hell out of me to learn Michael Savage has been pulled from certain stations. Don’t always agree with him, but forever willing to listen to someone with balls to tell it like it is. If we allow his removal to be permanent, and snooze as if it did not matter……..a Dictatorial-led country is what we should expect and accept.

As for the debate, it bothered me that Trump did not go full blast maniac with regards to her minimizing and dismissing the issue of all the emails she ordered destroyed.

Any day of any week, my preference would be that of an ego maniac far and above an accomplished evil liar. Has everyone forgotten the fact that she is married to another pathological liar who was only the second prez. in the nation’s history to be impeached? Birds of a feather scheme together.

JBar

Why does the media always ask Trump’s daughter how it is having such a dad, but Chelsea is never asked about Bill?
