John Kerry criticizes media coverage of terror

| August 31, 2016

kerrypinkbike01

Katie Pavlich at Townhall reports that John Kerry suggested that the media should stop reporting on terrorist attacks because it highlghts the Obama Administration’s failures in that regard;

“If you decide one day you’re going to be a terrorist and you’re willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people. You can make some noise…perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much. People wouldn’t know what’s going on,” Kerry said.

[…]

Here’s the reality: Kerry doesn’t want the press giving attention to the issue of terrorism because it further exposes the failure of the Obama administration’s foreign policy over the past eight years. Terrorism doesn’t go away if you simply ignore it but instead, expands.

It’s that pesky Bill of Rights again. Who needs an informed public which votes given the best and most reliable information available? Certainly not John Kerry – the guy who says that air conditioners are a bigger threat to civilization than ISIS.

Don’t you just love this Pussy riding his little pink bike??? I hope he drowns on a gun boat!!
Cocksucker!!!

He steals little girls bikes like he steals Valor.

Asshole.

Durpity…Durp..durp.

John Kerry can just eat a giant bowl of dicks.
Cold ones.

Blaster

Or a little bow of big dicks. He should have choices after all

David

I’m sure if it was proposed we stop publishing the names of all the mass murderers the Left constantly refers to in their quest to ban any and all guns, the Constitutional hand-wringing would be deafening, despite the evidence that most of them are sick attention whores who just want to go out in a blaze of notoriety.

Sparks

Shitbag!

IDC SARC

Gotta admit, reporting such things really does screw up Kerry’s ability to lie about them, so he has a point.

Hack Stone

I can appreciate his position on this. By reporting on terrorist at racks, it gives them publicity and offers encouragement to other potential terrorists. By that extension, if the press would just stop reporting on all of the corruption and incompetence from this administration and the Hillary Clinton campaign, other politicians would not be inspired to break the law and act unethical.

PhukYoCouch

Mr. Kerry, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

(Oh, the mileage I get outa this quote from Billy Madison.)

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Well with the media being owned by about 4 guys we’re really only seeing the stories currently that suit those rich men….so I’m not quite as certain we have nearly the “free” press we think we do.

That said I don’t disagree that Kerry and company would love to be able to prevent bad news from seeping out all over the wire and clarifying just how useless their current foreign and domestic policies are currently. That doesn’t make them any different than any other politician, or politician wannabe as Trump’s comments indicate.

The press can be inconvenient at times, but as we can clearly see at the moment with the Clinton coverage the press can also report only the aspects of a story that suits the purpose of its’ corporate masters.

Pinto Nag

That ‘bread and circuses’ door swings both ways, I think. They want us to have that because it keeps us distracted, and the perfumed Princes are free to laze around in their own pursuits. When bad things leak out, we’re jolted out of our stupor — and we get cranky in ways the pp’s don’t like.

Skippy

A true Moron all the way

Well, will wonders never cease-a horse on a bicycle!

I’m sorry, what?!

That’s the Secretary of State of the United States of America?!?

And he just said WHAT?!?

Yes, I do suppose that a talking horse IS even more amazing-even one that says retarded things.

Bill M

Actually, it’s a talking jackass on a bicycle. And he’s too stupid to realize how dumb he sounds when he opens his yap (Air conditioners are more dangerous than ISIS, really?) Just proves yet again that stolen valor is just the tip of the iceberg – in his case, part of that iceberg is unbelievable stupidity. And don’t forget tax avoidance – docked your yacht anywhere interesting lately, dumbass?

Grimmy

He has a point, you know.

If we didn’t know about it, we wouldn’t be fussing about it.

It’d make us so much easier to manage, you know?
Instead of having us demanding they do their jobs, they could just promise us all some more of someone else’s money and we’d behave.

One of the things I wonder about with that photo is that Kerry is evidently leading an animal with a leash in his left hand, but you can’t tell if it’s his service dog, a goat, or a high-ranking State Department official…

USAF E-5

So I read “The Militia Act of 1792″ yesterday. My initial cause was section 1 ” every free able-bodied white male citizen”. Which I had seen quoted in a very interesting military history piece by Krewalsky A. Salter of National War College. But what really opened my eyes was the rest of the Act. It’s kind of obvious when you read that they (Congress and the President) require them to provide their own arms and be prepared to defend the country. Well, The right to keep and bear arms is very much self explanatory. But the rest of paper by then Col Salter was excellent. Can’t help it, love military history.

Hondo

Yep. Those laws (there are actually two Militia Acts of 1792, both passed in early May; the second one provides the quotations above) were passed less than five months after the 2nd Amendment became effective on 15 December 1791 (the date of Virginia’s ratification of the Bill of Rights).

This gives makes it clear that the intent of the 2nd Amendment is to recognize individual ownership of weapons as fundamental Constitutional right – a fact gun confiscation advocates (that’s what they are; “gun control” is merely a propaganda term to mask their true intent) dissembled about for years. A law passed contemporary with adoption of the 2nd Amendment not only allows but actually requires exactly that.

SFC D

So if we stop talking about Chicago shootings, they’ll stop shooting each other?

Green Thumb

Maybe if we stop talking about Kerry, he will just fade away…..

Wishful thinking anyway.

UpNorth

And, if we stop talking about the Mexican Cartels, they’ll stop importing dope by the ton.

Grimmy

@SFC D:

No no no! That’s not how it works. If we stop getting told about the Chicago Shootings, then shootings in Chicago wouldn’t be an issue. Therefore, we wouldn’t be concerned about Chicago Shootings.

Ignorance is knowledge.
Weakness is strength.
We have always been at war with Oceania.
Oceania is our ally.

SFC D

Oh. Thanks for the re-alignment, Grimmy. I feel so much better now. What’s a Chicago, anyway?

Combat Historian

FUCK YOU, KERRY !!!

No. What has to happen is that the national media have to stop covering black-on-black shootings and focus exclusively on any shooting of a black male by a police officer. Wait. Hell, Kerry’s plan has already been implemented.

lostcause

Terrorism is a overhyped threat.

But he is wrong that it should not be reported. It just should be reported for the overhyped threat it is.

And it is being used as a pretext for doing things not in the interests of the US public or in accordance with long term preservation of civil liberties.

UpNorth

Do tell, what is the real threat, Lars? Global warming? Trump? Democratic Socialists? Communists? College professors who won’t allow the debate on global warming climate change? http://behindtheblack.com/tag/university-of-colorado-colorado-springs/

2/17 Air Cav

The 108,000 victims of terror attacks worldwide since 2001 and their families will be pleased to know that terror is just hype.

2/17 Air Cav

Excluding 2015 and this year.

Lostcause

That is less than 10,000 per year worldwide.

The Flu kills twice than many per year in the US alone.

Yet but we are not requiring anyone to wear surgical masks to board an airplane.

We are however, digitally strip searching them and all their belongings.

And it is disingenuous to us global figures in this discussion since the issue is how the irrational and exaggerated fear of terrorism is being used as a pretext to undermine our civil liberties and establish an undemocratic surveillance state.

You seem to support this trend.

In the US more people are killed by bathtubs than terrorists.

We are not spending billions retrofitting people’s bathrooms to make them safer.

Nothing I say will make a difference to you.

Because people like you WANT a security state.

You are so afraid of the world it is the only way you can feel safe.

HMC Ret

Right, but my bathtubs never crashed into a skyscraper. I’ve been keeping my eyes on them, though. I think they’re in collusion, and may join to attack a Christian church.

SFC D

They’re actually conspiring with all those Christian baptismal fonts.

HMC Ret

Damn, I knew it.

Ex-PH2

Ablutophobia is a rather serious disorder. It’s almost as bad as oikophobia, except that oikophobics tend to live on the street rather than in a dwelling. That way, the kitchen appliance and the bathtubs and the plumbing won’t threaten them with annihilation.

68W58

Because human agency and murderous ideology are exactly the same thing as disease and accidents.

68W58

BTW Lars, are you saying that people shouldn’t get immunized or put down non-slip surfaces in their bathtubs? Because that’s how individuals take action to prevent disease or injury. So shouldn’t the agency responsible for security (the government Lars, because I know that to you it is just a giant income transfer mechanism, but believe it or not, it does have actual legitimate functions-primarily national security) take similar steps to prevent deaths from known causes-like better security?

Ex-PH2

Here’s the money shot, boys and girls:
‘Because people like you WANT a security state.
You are so afraid of the world it is the only way you can feel safe.’ – lostcause aka larstaylor

I’m telling you, projection of your own idiotic fears onto other people always gives you away.

Give the shrink a call, and quickly, Poodledik. I’m sure he’ll set up a nice, quiet room in a safe space for you, and quickly, too.

Just make sure that you ask him to lock the door when he leaves so that floor gremlins can’t get in. I hear they bite.

GDContractor

He’s right. For example, that guy that attacked the gay bar in Orlando was just a self-loathing homophobe. Right Lars?

A Proud Infidel®™

And the Tsarnev brothers were simply “Misunderstood Youth”, RIGHT? Lost aka Lars took the perfect screen name for himself.

Lostcause

No. That is a non-sequitur.

I said the threat is exaggerated. I did not say anything about terrorists being misunderstood.

But you go ahead and support the establishment of an undemocratic security state because of your irrational and idiotic fear.

If it was terrorism you would find some other thing to be afraid of and some other reason to whine to the government about the need for more security.

HMC Ret

I am opposed to a security state as are you, Lostcause. Really. I despise what has become a (?) necessary intrusion into my life.

But … I have a solution. Take a few hours, but I bet we could do away with much of the intrusion into our lives in short order.

What we do is kill every raghead who threatens our country or its citizens, at home or abroad. Then we kill their pet goats. Then we kill any ragheads who threaten us that we may have overlooked in our initial quest to rid the world of their worthless asses.

Than we bury their worthless, rotting corpses in mass graves with pigs and sprinkle each body with pig’s blood.

After a time, oh, probably 6.2 seconds, the word will be passed they will go to whatever pig blood sprinkled inferno hell ragheads go after such a death.

See how simple that was? Now, some are gonna say I’m this or that and some of this. Know what? You nailed it. Know what? I don’t give a shit. I will support this country and her peoples to the max, and if that involves killing these fucks who want to kill us, then so be it. I care zip for anyone who wishes harm to my family, my fellow countrymen, my country or myself. See? Simple as hell.

THIS is something they will understand. From my understanding of what I consider their cult, this is the worst possible scenario that can befall them.

Bye now …

Ex-PH2

Threat is exaggerated, huh? Just what IS in those pills the shrink gives you, Poodle? It appears to be amazing stuff. It can induce a wall of Denial of Reality so thick that nothing will ever pierce it, not even pieces from an exploding washing machine.

ex-OS2

Is the threat of running out of cocks to suck scaring you Lars?

A Proud Infidel®™

Overhyped threat? I DARE YOU to say that to the families of those lost on 9/11, SHIT-FOR-BRAINS!

Blaster

And Boston, and the 2 American Embassies in Africa, and the USS Cole, and the suicide bombings in Turkey, Iraq, Israel, etc., and San Bernardino, and Miami, and the planes that are hijacked, and Oklahoma City,

I guess the threat warnings and FPCON, and the huge pain in the ass that is the TSA and all of the punk asses at GITMO are for nothing too.

The reason that terrorism is overhyped is because they have such an ally in the CinC.

I wish I could have all of the years back that I missed with my wife and kids being deployed since 2003 due to an overhyped threat.

You sir, are an idiot. (Lostcause, Lars))

Lostcause

It is among the lowest causes of death in the US.

There are far far far more dangerous things in the US than terrorists.

Like bathtubs.

Trying to hijack the grief of families to champion you need to establish an undemocratic security state is pathetic.

Fear monger.

Ex-PH2

Bathtubs, huh?

I wondered what that smell was. Now I know.

Have you discussed your ablutophobia with the shrink? You could make that the subject of the day’s discussion, instead of your usual ramblings about you Munchausen syndrome.

A Proud Infidel®™

I don’t see him ever being anything other than a Government Bureaucrat wasting oxygen in an office cubicle somewhere.

Hondo

“lostcause” bloviated thusly:

Terrorism is a overhyped threat.

As I recall, that was effectively US policy for 8 years under Bill “Cigar Man” Clintoon and his cronies. They treated the threat of international terrorism as a “LE matter”, and largely ignored it. This continued for over 4 years after bin Laden and al Qaeda formally declared Jihad (Holy War) against the US.

Roughly 7 1/2 months after Clintoon left office, 9/11 occurred. Post-attack analysis which “connected the dots” indicated that that and similar terrorist attacks against the US had been in the pipeline over a year since 1996.

If anything, the threat is greater today than it was on 21 January 2001. And if 9/11 proved anything besides the reality of the threat, it was this simple truth that the US political Left avoids facing: eight years of neglect with respect to a serious national security threat cannot be fixed in a few weeks or months.

Because they neglected their responsibilities, Bill Clintoon and his cronies have the blood of thousands of innocent US citizens and residents on his hands.

“Overhyped” my ass. The threat from terrorism is as real today as it was immediately before 9/11 – when the US was playing ostrich. Playing ostrich then cost nearly 3,000 innocents their lives.

ex-OS2

You are a fucking moron Lars.

Cocksucker.

Lostcause

You idiots are traitors to our democracy.

Your fear of a very low casualty producing threat in the US is used as a pretext to transform the US into an undemocratic security state and you are too stupid to realize it.

HMC Ret

“Your fear of a very low casualty producing threat in the US …”

Lostcause: Standing by for you to reveal to us Cretans what number of casualties are necessary for you to change your opinion. Got to be a magic number. Maybe you can post a graph, where ‘x’ crosses ‘y’ and reveals the number. Keppit sempl, tho, caus we bee dum n shit.

Hondo

Apparently 3,000 dead within a 3 hour period – or a rate of about 1,000 dead per hour – wasn’t enough.

Bluntly, on 9/11 we were lucky. Had the attacks occurred an hour later – or had the attackers aimed for lower floors – the death toll in New York could easily have been far higher than it was.

Ex-PH2

Shrink wasn’t available today, huh, Poodledck?

Have you got a job in the private sector yet?

Hondo

Not at all, dipstick. The loss of personal freedom and the potential for government abuse concerns most if not all conservatives as well. Indeed, political conservatives are far less likely to trust government than leftist of your ilk.

You and your political allies actually believe government can be trusted, and will make things better. We know better.

But acting like an ostrich, head firmly in sand and pretending the threat does not exist, isn’t a sensible response. Threats do not go away simply because you deny they exist or downplay their severity. That kind of thinking leads to disasters like 9/11 – or worse, should terrorists obtain or fabricate some significant amount of some type of WMD.

The bottom line is that radical Islam declared war on the US 20 years ago. They’ve been actively waging war against us ever since. We should treat this war – against a non-state enemy that is not a party to the Geneva Conventions and thus not entitled to claim protections under them – as what it is: war. We don’t. We officially maintain the mendacious fiction that “all is good; everything is under control”. It isn’t; we’re not doing what we need outside the US to ensure that. Rather, we’re bending over backwards to “avoid offending anyone”.

News flash, fool: it’s not perceived as “restraint on the part of a great power”. Rather, that’s perceived as weakness damn near everywhere else in the world. Even some of our “allies” are laughing at us behind our back – if not to our face.

Continue to live in your own Berkeley-inspired fantasy world cocoon if you like. Your security will be provided by your betters, those who actually live in the real world – and realize that there truly are those elsewhere who wish to kill us simply because we exist.

At least, you’d best hope that continues. Like Communists, Islamic Extremists have little use for “fellow travelers” after they take power.

Ex-PH2

Oh, Hondo – reasoning with a blowhard? Really?

It’s about time for the Poodle’s pill drop, so he’s just abusing your good nature.

Mick

Oh, c’mon, Hondo.

You need to get on board here. Everyone knows that terrorism, like communism, poses no real threat to any of us. Never has; never will.

I have this on good authority, and I know this all to be true and beyond dispute, because ‘Lostcause’ has told us so.

LOSTCAUSE:

An overhyped threat?

Yeah, I’m reminded of the overhyped threat of terrorism almost daily. I scan the news to see where the most recent 70+ mass graves have been located. What lowlife ratfucking raghead PoS has blown himself up and taken innocents with him. What scumbag raghead has decapitated or burned alive people for not accepting his horseshit cult. Ya know, now I’m thinking you post stuff even YOU don’t believe. You just want to get a reaction, piss off people. What exactly is your motivation with such an outlandish statement? I mean, it flies in the face of reality. You planning to defend this ridiculous assertion? And please, don’t dazzle me with graphs, statistics, statements from bought-and-paid-for politicians, year-over-year comparison showing the ragheads are defeated or nearly so. Are you talking about the whore bureaucrats and (?) military leaders who have been cooking the books relative to the threat these ragheads pose, trying to demonstrate that we are prevailing in our halfassed war and that the scum are less of a threat? How about every time we retake a town, the bodies of innocents are to be found? And don’t ask me to prove any of my statements b/c you know damn well what I’m talking about. Google the shit. WTF is up with you? Don’t try to prove your assertion with any psychobabble bullshittery.

That gas bag sure didn’t mind all the coverage when he was calling his fellow Vietnam Vets (including my two uncles) war criminals, and terrorists!
Nope; back then he wanted the whole world to listen up and pay heed to his words of how American boys were raping, pillaging, and generally destroying the country of Vietnam through sheer animalistic degeneracy.

Tell ya what, Herman Munster; you can go find a rice paddy, get yourself a hammer, and pound all that rice up your ass.

Hondo

Tell ya what, Herman Munster; you can go find a rice paddy, get yourself a hammer, and pound all that rice up your ass.

That’s how some accounts I’ve read say he got either his 2nd or 3rd PH – rice grains embedded in his butt from friendly grenade explosions used to “destroy enemy food stocks”, with said explosions occurring well after all enemy contact had ended.

Ex-PH2

Well, that does kind of explain the perception generated by that photo, that he’s scratching his ass for some reason. Now I know.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

Presto … Came right up and gave me the info.
