Sunday morning feel good stories

| July 10, 2016

In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Christopher Martinez went to work at Outback Steakhouse and dropped his keys off on a table that employees use to leave their personal stuff while they’re at work.

When Martinez discovered that the keys and his truck had been stolen, a fellow employee told him her cell phone was missing, too. Betting that the same guy stole both, they tracked the cell phone to Joshua Ortega’s home. There they found Ortega and the stolen truck. Martinez called the police, but Ortega left before the police got there. Martinez went back the following morning and confronted Ortega. A scuffle ensued and when Ortega pulled a gun, Martinez pulled his own and shot at Ortega as he scurried off.

Officers found Ortega at the local pediatric facility getting his wound tended. Rumor has it that Martinez is facing charges, too.

In these cases, it is better to be a good witness rather than a good shot!

Don’t shoot at the guy when he’s running. The Po-po don’t like that.

He probably shouldn’t have gone to confront the guy the next day. The Cops don’t like vigilantes.

There’s also the philosophy that if someone has your stuff and the police won’t do anything go get it.
