Friday morning feel good stories
A woman in Kansas City, Missouri heard someone at her door when she wasn’t expecting anyone, so she grabbed her gun. When he kicked in her door, she was waiting for him and plugged him. He was DRT (dead right there) when the police arrived.
In Lexington, Tennessee, two masked men tried to rob 61-year-old Johnny Adams while he was working at the corner liquor store. They punched him in the face a few times too many. He grabbed the gun near the register and fired the gun for the first time in his life missing both. He punctuated their departure with another errant round. Police are still looking for the suspects.
In Lexington, Kentucky, a husband tried to win back his estranged wife by ignoring an order of protection, breaking into her home and threatening her. She responded to his romantic gestures by shooting him. He was DRT (dead right there) when the police arrived.
There’s murky and strange story out of Henderson, Nevada, where four people got into an altercation inside a Nissan Altima. The folks in the backseats shot and killed the two in the front seats. It might have been a kidnapping/robbery situation since it looks like one of the people in the backseat was a local beloved jeweler and the two in the front seats were from out of town. The car crashed into a house and caught fire. The folks in the front seat were DRT when the police arrived. Backseat folks sustained minor injuries. The article says that no one was arrested but it’s still being investigated. At another link, it’s reported that the jeweler was zip tied at his home along with another store employee, but the kidnappers didn’t do a good pat-down of their victims, one of whom had a concealed weapon.

Looks like a helluva good “day at the plate” for armed citizens vis-à-vis thugs. Six total perps; 4 perps DRT, the other two in the wind and likely needing new underwear; and no serious injuries to any of the armed citizens.
In baseball parlance, that’s 6 PAs, 4-for-4 in offical ABs with 4HRs, and 2 walks. Most MLB players never see a day like that in their careers.
Too bad about the minor injuries and the property damage to the armed citizens and their property, though.
Remember former Atlanta Braves Bob Horner had a 4 HR game way back when…the highlight of his somewhat unexceptional career. Anyway, Johnny in Lexington TN needs to spend a few days w/ a fire arms instructor doing some drills. Glad he’s safe, but the hood roaches will be back.
True, a few MLB players have had such games –
RuthGehrig and a few others. (smile) But most don’t ever even come close to 4-for-4 with 4 HR, whether consecutive or not.Wasn’t Bob Horner a pitcher?
Negative – corner outfielder. Was NL ROY in 1978; played 9 seasons for the Braves, plus 1 for the Cardinals. Hit 218 HR and had a 0.499 career slugging percentage.

Thanks.
Yep, I remember that game. July 6th, 1986. Horner hit his homers in a losing effort to the Expos. So the 30th anniversary is coming up in a couple of months.
I remember watching the game in a TV lounge at the Tulsa Airport waiting for a flight back to Colorado Springs. The wife and I had went for a small vacation to my best old Army buddy’s place in Missouri shortly after he had retired from the Army.
My old, tired eyes saw “Homer” vice “Horner”. Ironical isn’t it.
I guess a piece of paper is almost as good as a firearm to protect yourself; said no victim ever.
DMFs all over the place! Nice shootin’ folks!
The summaries are a hoot. You’re on a roll, Jonn. Love the summary of the woman in Kansas City. I have this image of the guy coming in suddenly and getting blown right back out more suddenly.
Dear Lexington ex-hoosband,
Let me sing you a song AT YOUR FUNERAL,
“Lookin’ for love in all the wrong places. . . ”
Dumbass.
Ahhh. . . 4 for 6. . .
“And the world is a more peaceful place. . . beginning now.”
Kansas City,
What level of un-edumakated dumbass writes these stories?
“Police said a wounded man was found on the front porch and pronounced dead.”
Huh??
That’s why I started writing the summaries myself instead of C&P from the local media.
I’m just surprised they didn’t say “the wounded victim was found…”
Sounds like the four DRTs were no real loss to their communities.
