US Airman and family caught in Brussels attack
Our buddy, Susan Katz Keating who writes at People these days reports that a US Air Force airman was among the injured in Brussels yesterday.
“The United States Air Force can confirm that one U.S. Air Force service member from Joint Force Command Brunssum, the Netherlands, was injured in today’s horrific attack at the airport in Brussels,” Maj. Melissa Milner wrote in an email. “The Airman’s family was also present and has sustained various injuries.”
Citing concerns about privacy, the Air Force spokesperson did not release the family’s names, or describe the extent of their injuries.
The service member is assigned to a noncombat unit that trains and assists NATO’s Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan. The unit also is tasked with primary response duties for crises and disasters.
According to the Air Force, it’s ironic that the airman would normally be responding to the situation in Brussels as part of his duties.

This is not going to dissipate any time soon.
The author of this article from Reuters makes a good point, that these attacks can generate divisiveness in Europe.

The increased visibility of vigilante groups makes it clear that the general population is NOT happy with what has been foisted on them. They are finding their own voice. How much will the EU be affected if the UK decides to exit?
ISIS wants a holy war…perhaps they will manage to get one.
If they do I suspect there’s a good chance they’ll learn the meaning of the old phrase, “be careful what you wish for, you just might get it…”
Neither Cruz or Trump seem to have any problem with firebombing the middle east and leaving tens of thousands of dead people behind.
I could get behind any war that was an actual total war and involved annihilating any country where these people were operating similar to our conduct of operations against the occupied territories to stop the Japs and the Germans…avoid civilian casualties where you can but don’t avoid killing the enemy and everything he uses to conduct operations.
Of course any such war would require we address the bankers of jihad in the Kingdom where our supposed allies fund most of these murderers through a variety of funding operations.
Any pretense that the Saudis are on our side should be dispensed with once we are done slaughtering ISIS and the royal family killed and replaced with an appropriate US military governor until such time we declare the place able to operate democratically on its own which may not be for hundreds of years.
