Dave Harper; photoshop fakery
C B sends us a link to the UK’s Telegraph which tells the tale of photoshop fakery so heinous, it makes some of our domestic examples downright legit.
Mr Harper put the picture up on his personal page, claiming to have been awarded the Military Cross for serving in Northern Ireland.
But he instead used a picture of Lance Corporal Alfie Pope of the Parachute Regiment, getting a rightly-earned medal from the Prince of Wales On February 9, 2012, during an Investiture Ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Mr Harper pasted his ginger-moustachioed face over the top – complete with a perfectly level line below his beret – and claimed the picture was taken in October 1969.
He even pointed out that he looked “retarded” in the terribly-manipulated pic – while soaking up praise from gullible pals.
It brings back memories of Gary Etheridge who (poorly) photoshopped his head onto Kyle Carpenter’s Medal of Honor portrait.

I say we put this twatfluff into the status he wants to claim. Put a special platoon or brigade or whatever, put the group together, give them weapons and ammo, water, food, some basic medical training, maps, and drop them off in enemy territory to fight the good fight. Offer them a prize of — oh, say, $123,586.95, tax exempt, and whoever comes out of that mess alive, gets the whole purse.

When I read the UK Telegraph story, I thought that referring to the pansy picker as a Walter Mitty was mistaken. Thurber’s Mitty only fantasized his heroics. He did not claim to be what he was not. Well, it turns out that the Brits call these fakers “Walts,” so it’s a British thing, not a mistake.

Looks like he at least had the decency to apologize saying he did because he was sad and lonely. Though I must say I would’ve at least have made the rest of the photo grayscale. Would have added a nanogram of plausibility.
