Wednesday morning feel good stories
In Austin, Texas, an intruder is expected to survive after his ventilation by a homeowner.
In Tampa, Florida, a clerk warned off an armed thief in his store but when the thief continued to approach him he shot criminal one time. The police performed CPR when they arrived and took what was left of the thief to the hospital where he’s in critical condition.
In Albuquerque, New Mexico, Darrel Salazar was angry when a teller at the Bank of America wouldn’t give him any money, so a bank customer followed him when he left the bank in a huff, and alerted police to his whereabouts. When police arrived, Darrel’s anger came to a head and he pointed a gun at the officers, so they shot him. He was in court yesterday to answer to the attempted robbery charges.
In Dripping Springs, Texas, a woman, whose husband was gone watching a sports match with his friends elsewhere, called police when she heard someone breaking into her home. Minutes later with her “large caliber handgun” she shot Randall Dorsett in his abdomen after she warned him that she would. The police say that he’ll be in jail when he gets out of his little hospital stay.

A good start to a good day.
Uh, the Austin & Dripping Springs stories are the same incident. At first I was all,”yay, two sorry motherfuckers down”. Too bad, they are both about the same little prick getting hosed with a hawg leg. Still a good thing. I wonder where she hit him. Some wounds will never heal.
Weekend Warrior. Good morning. Are you by any chance in the Airborne National Guard unit out of Austin with the 36th Infantry Div?
No, I am simply a Gun Bunny of 4/133 FA in San Marcos. I am acquainted with some of the folks up in Austin, but it is a small world after all.
Too cool! My Dad is from San Marcos and we have Family there. We’re only 90 minutes away. Do you like the NG? I considered the guard a few years back but as of August I’m “too old” to join even with prior service. I was an 81mm mortar maggot so I think that makes us cousins. Lol !
If you’re less than 70, you could join the Texas State Guard. We always need good prior-service soldiers.
Yes, but as in everything, there are down sides. As I have said before, I would do it again. I was 46 when I signed up, but I had 13 good years already with USN/USNR.Mortars? Yeah, sure. We have rockets now. I would rather my Howitzer, or a mortar.
46 when you signed up? Did the 13 years prior service (I’m assuming some active duty) push out the age limit? I had a 3 year active duty enlistment, that’s all.
If I calculated correctly, my last chance to sign up would have been while 43 years old. I’m 44 now.
More instances of guns protecting life, limb and property. Good work, people.
“When he walked into the kitchen he was met by the woman, who told KXAN she was holding a 44-magnum handgun.”
Bet that made a mess.
Odds are that Randall Dorsett will be learning how to change out his colostomy bag before he leaves the hospital.
I wonder if she said “Go ahead punk!…. Make my day.”
I guess that is why she only had to fire one shot.
One more from Cocoa, FL (which is not the same as Cocoa Beach, but is in the same county.)
A store owner shot and wounded a would-be robber and two others are in custody this morning following a botched heist at a Cocoa convenience store that has investigators working to determine if they could be connected to a series of other robberies in recent weeks.
……
The store’s owner, Sowann Suy, told Cocoa detectives that two men attempted to rob him at gunpoint when he pulled out his own firearm and shot one of the men and then fired on a getaway vehicle as it sped away from the store. The same vehicle, described as silver in color Camaro, was found a short time later in Rockledge with several bullet holes.
A third person was found in the vehicle.
The store owner is not to be trifled with. He was robbed in 2008 but in 2009, he shot an attempted robber in the stomach. In 2010, another would be robber was scared away when the owner pulled out his gun.
