Bobo and Amy send us a link to a story in Houston, Texas, where two fellows tried to rob a couple. When they took the woman’s purse, he companion pulled out his own gun and fired several times at the thief who had a gun. It turns out that he had an Airsoft gun, but the victims didn’t know that. Anyway, the thief is in critical condition and the couple were unharmed.

Tankerswife sends a link to a story that happened in St Louis, Missouri, a homeowner defended his home and family from two armed intruders who forced their way into the home. The two knocked on the front door and when no one answered they went to the back door and kicked it in. The homeowner met them there and a gunfight erupted. he shot one of the pair who was DRT when the police arrived. The other thief unassed the AO at a high rate of speed.

In the self-solving problems category, a vandal in Los Angeles, California, was interrupted in his endeavor to slash an acquaintance’s tires by the owner, so the vandal pistol whipped the man, who fled. While the vandal himself fled the scene, he shot himself in the leg making it easier for the cops to roll up on him.

People never cease to amaze me with their attacks of da stoopid. Airsoft? Oh, well.

Houston, Harris County sure does provide a lot of great news for this daily roundup of good news!
One would think that these stories being on the news every night here would have a result by forewarning thugs that the good citizens here fight back. Some of us even know how and when to shoot.
But, you just can’t fix “teh stoopid”. Well, actually you can but it requires a couple of well placed rounds of ammo…

UpNorth

Fortunately, for law abiding citizens, unfortunately for the thugs, thugs don’t watch the news very often.
They’re usually having breakfast in the kitchen about the time the 5pm or 6pm news comes on the flat screens they’ve stolen.

OK, let’s look at today’s “good citizen batting line”.

6 total perps; 1 doing the eternal dirtnap, one in critical; another shot (self-inflicted) and in custody; and a fourth possibly ventilated as well.

That’s at least 2 for 5 (plus a reached on error) with the 2 being a HR and an extra base hit. And it might rise to 3 for 5 with a HR and 2 extra base hits when we get word about the possibly wounded perp.

Not too shabby.

Too bad about the car owner in LA getting pistol-whipped, though. Hope he/she’s OK.
