Monday morning feel good stories

| November 16, 2015

Amy sends us our first story this morning, coming from Houston, Texas like many of our stories. A neighbor noticed two criminals coming out of a house and went to confront them. When one of the criminals pulled out his gun, the neighbor ventilated him, DRT (dead right there). The other un-assed the AO.

Bannock County, Idaho, Sheriff Lorin Nielsen urges his citizens to carry concealed weapons after going through the licensing procedure, because he admits that he and his deputies can’t protect everyone.

In San Antonio, Texas a burglar was surprised to find a wheelchair-bound resident at home. He was especially surprised when the handicapped fellow stabbed the living sh!t out of him with a pen knife. So he un-assed the AO through a window and the police rolled up on him. The homeowner was uninjured.

It is the job of Law Enforcement to apprehend the law breakers, not to provide each of us with a personal security detail. We are our own protectors. Learn to use firearms, own firearms, carry firearms, be prepared to use firearms. It takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun.

Amen and pass the ammunition…..

The Police are minutes away when seconds count. The average response time to a 911 call is about twenty minutes while the response time on my 1911 is about 850 feet per second every time I pull the trigger! 😀

It’s a few years to never in places like Detroit and south Chicago.

1902OR4, you should expand that to ‘most of Chicago’.

The cancer is spreading outward from the south side more and more every day. My old neighborhood is seeing it. Glad I don’t live there any more.

I AGREE 100%.It is our law enforcement agencies who are supposed to protect and serve, but due to budget cuts, can’t be everywhere.
All states need to let their citizens carry and if needed take care of business themselves.
We all learned to shoot at a young age and continue the tradition with our kids..

Idaho? I thought they were hinky about guns.

Hmmm… pretty state, lovely mountains, lots of potatoes, next door to Montana. Now there’s a thought.

Idaho? OK as long as you don’t mind freezing yer ya-ya’s off in the winter.

Friend of mine grew up in Idaho. He told me about a trick they’d play on newcomers during especially cold winter days.

They’d pour some gasoline into a can, then throw a lit match into it. The newbie would back off expecting a flash flame.

There was no flash flame – because below -17F or so, gasoline doesn’t vaporize too well at all. It often got colder than that where he grew up.

Thanks – but no thanks. (smile)

A good breezy day also work if you’re quick about it. Put your cigarette out in the gas with a quick throw. Trying to do it slowly with it in your hand… doesn’t work well. Liquid gas doesn’t burn. But the vapors burn real well. And quickly.

EX, You would love Idaho. I saw a tee shirt a few years ago that sums it up perfectly. It said, “Idaho is what America was”.

From the Idaho article:

“The home’s occupant was not injured, and residents were relocated to a temporary shelter at Longfellow Elementary School for about an hour as officers scoured the area looking for the suspect.”

Why would anyone take refuge in a “gun-free” zone?

Went to the pistol range yesterday to put a few rounds in some targets. In the lane next to me were two Arabic speakers – one attempting to teach the other how to use his new pistol. Kinda gave me the willies. Anyway, after watching them shoot for a while, I figured out why they use suicide vests….

Thanks for the laugh ?
