FedEx is hiring vets in Indianapolis area
Our friends at Blackfive wanted us to let you know that FedEx is looking for a large number of veterans to hire for “handlers” at their hub in Indianapolis;
I don’t know any of the specifics except what is on the flyer. So, even if you don’t need a job, someone you know might, so blast this out.

I got something in the mail that say Amazon is hiring in my area.
I started working for Uber.
I love it, it’s 10% as hard as working a checkout at Walmart, I work half as much time and make twice as much money.
No shit. Better than working at Walmart. I’ll help anyone out if they want to get started with Uber.
UPS up in Las Vegas is Hireing Vets. as a priority. DHS or Border Patrol, has a Hire VETs program here in T-Town….
UPS saved me in 1973. Our GI Bill sucked and you had to work. Even with my bad hip they hired me to load trucks working most of the night. I made over $7.00 an hour which was huge back then. The reason I bring this up is that UPS/FED-EX like to hire up from within. I was offered a managers position when I graduated but didn’t take it because it just wasn’t what I wanted to do, but I thank UPS for giving me a chance and without them, not sure how I would have gotten my first degree. FED-EX is a Vietnam Veteran owned company.
I forgot to mention that to work there, we had to join the Teamsters at $75 a month, but could receive no benefits because we were part timers. We had to pay the Teamsters for the right to work there.
Don’t ya just love those “union shops”? (smile)
Hondo, nail on the head buddy.
Several family members have worked themselves up from loading UPS trucks at 0 Dark Thirty (like 1AirCav) to now driving. They love it. Great benefits and work environment. Almost zero turnover. Only way to get in is load trucks part time and wait til enough people retire. Our UPS driver has been there for 35 years.
SJ, you are absolutely correct. The drivers were clearing over $500 a week back then. It was tempting and I knew I’d make even more as a supervisor. The loading hours were awful, especially when you had an 0800 class in the morning, but we were treated great, except for the union. Christmas was unbelievable, and AVON days made me want to kill all those women selling that shit! Very few ever quit UPS.
Afternoon tour in the car put me behind an 18-wheeler with a big sign on the back:
YRC Trucking is looking for drivers.
Looked them up. They have a website, and many categories are available including OTR positions for women. They are veteran-friendly.
HOT. Mid-Atlantic.
Safeway and Giant Foods are hiring. Safeway is keen on hiring Vets and has an online app that converts an MOS to nearest civilian job.
Here are the links, which include positions available (wide range.)
