Uruguayans fed up with Syrian ingrates

| October 19, 2015

Last year, the Uruguayan government announced their largely symbolic plans to take in five families of Syrian refugees. Folks in the coastal fishing village of Juan Lacaze pulled together their meager resources to help one such family. The government gave them a home and a monthly stipend and the community offered them jobs. They’ve been rewarded with nothing but complaints from the Syrians.The father of the family went so far as to threaten self-immolation. According to the Associated Press;

“I like Uruguay. I like Uruguayan families. My young children all go to school here,” Alshebli said in halting Spanish, standing in the living room of his sparsely furnished, multi-room home on the outskirts of Juan Lacaze. “But food is very expensive. How can I feed 15 children?”

He showed The Associated Press a two-month winter electricity bill totaling $475 and said everyone in the family who is able works. For example his 19-year-old daughter Nada sells Arab food downtown and recently worked in an assisted living facility, but earned just $68 in a little under a month there.

Alshebli also complained that the government won’t let him farm beyond the modest vegetable garden the family has planted.

“No sheep. No cows. No land,” said Alshebli, recounting what he said officials told him.

I’d stop making children, to start with, but that’s just me. On the upside though, no one is shooting at them – and that’s what the Syrians wanted to escape, right? That’s what all of the European government and news are telling us. The Syrians are not economic refugees, I’m told.

Seventy-two more families were scheduled to arrive in Uruguay this year, but they’ve been no-shows. I think Uruguay dodged that bullet.

I got nothin’. Oh, except this which I couldn’t resist:

Just look at all of the accounts of how they turn wherever they go in Europe into an open air latrine just like they do in the filthy hellholes they came from! They don’t want to better themselves and contribute, most of them just want to mooch and bawl that wherever they are won’t change to be like their home hellholes. I don’t think these are refugees at all, I see them as the vanguard of a Muslim invasion, just look at what they do to the places they infest!

Wait. That’s a lot of baby making for non Catholics. Anyone do a DNA check? Wanna bet the horde ends up in the USA where they can receive a tax refund w/o having paid any taxes, receive water, heating, housing, medical care, electricity for low or no cost? Oh. And a free cell phone or five or six. And free college tuition in a state or two, and in-state tuition rates at others. I know I am omitting something.

OWB

You sure that the horde need come to the US to get all that support? Seems like a bazillion or so folks who don’t live here, never been here, and not likely related to the guys claiming them are already getting all sorts of our bennies. They probably also vote.

No, I’m not at all certain. I suppose those welfare debit cards can be used out of country, but I don’t know.

His electric bill was $475 for TWO months? Shit, must be nice not getting bent over by SDG&E. What’s this dirka-dirka asshole complaining about again?

Silentium Est Aureum

No shit–I don’t spend that much on electricity AND oil in the dead of winter.

El Jefe

If he’d been given land for sheep, goats and cows, he would not have so many kids.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Maybe he can contact the Duggars, they’re pretty good at budgeting for those kind of numbers and TLC could use a show without a pedophile oldest son…maybe they can work something out.

Ncat

Not so fast Veritas, we have no idea what their older children are into.

Cpl/Major Mike

Self-imolation? The villagers will live to regret the day they did not supply the fuel.

OldSarge57

Perhaps he has more than one wife? Regardless, I would be happy to contribute the gasoline and a match to help him fulfill his desire. Inshallah.

A Proud Infidel®™

I’m in a generous mood, I’ll give him three gallons of gas and a road flare if he’s really serious about immolating himself!

Smitty

But shouldn’t the gubmint take care of them? Why should they have to provide for themselves? And if he wants another 15 kids isn’t that his right? Surely the gubmint has plenty of free stuff they can give our to everyone to make refugees happy.

A couple of things. I remember seeing the tail end of the boat people out of SE Asia as a kid growing up in the PacNW. How they settled and for the most part bitched about some of the hicks, but for the most part settled down, got a small business going and either integrated into the local community or got together with the rest of the community that they identified with locally. I remember most of them loved that they were Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotian, and even Hmong; but made sure that their kids understood they were Americans. It hasn’t really changed much. Heck some of the Angolans and other African’s who participated in the socialist uprisings in the 70s and 80s and the endless civil wars; that I meet years later in places like Seattle or Florida or even Virginia were also like that. Pride in where they came from, but now here in the US they were happier than clams to be whatever they wanted and not give a dime to some corrupt government official and sure as hell not their children to some backwoods warlord.

Now its all different. I can’t say one way or another, but it is all different in how we are all settling into our communities and not mixing and that the latest set of arrivals from some of these war torn areas around the world; don’t want to mix they don’t want to be Americans and they don’t want to make their kids to be Americans. Let alone we have folks that are saying they don’t have to integrate into the new societies.

RE: the outrageous heating bill… Someone on my blog posted the following:

http://thelibertyzone.com/2015/10/19/this-is-what-the-administration-wants-to-allow-in/#comments

“Looking at the climate of Juan Lacase, Uruguay it seems the average minimum temp in July (it’s coldest month) is 46 and the average high is 59 degrees. It’s right across the bay from Buenos Aires, Argentina. That’s not exactly harsh weather conditions. I wouldn’t think you’d need much for heating/cooling during that time. And that $475 for 2 months electricity seems about normal to maybe a little low for people down there according to a quick internet check. But if you are having trouble making ends meet, that seems like an area you could cut back on without jeopardizing your health in such a mild climate. He’s got a fireplace there, you can always find things to burn to keep warm.”

Now, for me, that’s ideal weather. No heating needed hardly at all. For someone from a warmer climate, it’s probably meh… temperate. So, how is this shitbird spending that much on heating?
