RIP, Beau Biden

| May 31, 2015

Dead of brain cancer at age 46.

I didn’t agree with his politics, or care much for his dad. Regardless, reportedly Beau Biden was a decent fellow and a good man. He was an officer in the Army National Guard.

RIP, Mr. Biden. Gone far too soon.

Damn, 46 is just way to young…RIP.

When is the last time a sitting Pres or VP lost a child? I think you have to go back to JFK.

Sometimes it DOES appear that the sins of the father are visited on the son!

This is very sad. I really despise almost all of what the modern Democratic party stands for, but that is neither here not there with regards to a man’s life (I want the Dems to lose elections, not suffer personally).

You hear about new and experimental treatments for fighting cancer that are being developed and it might be that just a few months may have saved his life. Prayers for his friends and family.

Big Steve

As I recall he was an Army lawyer (JAG). Anyone know what action he was involved in to receive a bronze star???

Jon The Mechanic

End of tour award, the Bronze Star is used in lieu of the MSM for deployments to combat zones.

Big Steve

Since when did an MSM *OR* a Bronze Star get awarded for completing a deployment to a combat zone? Is this an officer-only thing??
As someone who earned an MSM in the 80’s, I hope this hasn’t become another watered-down, anyone-can-get medal.

FOR YEARS NOW, it’s been happening. I KNOW it happened in the First Gulf War and it’s been happening all the time since then at least. Can’t speak for earlier times [i.e. Vietnam era]
Got to look for a “V” device on a BS these days, to see if they actually did anything besides their job……

He was only out of country for a few months if I remember right?

easy enough to get a bronze star if daddykins is a senator/vp….look at fairy kerry, skipper a boat and give yourself a bronze star and what was it 3 purple hearts without even going to a clinic!!

CavRick

He will get another award from Obama for his broken leg.

Rest in Peace Mr. Biden. God bless your family.

And now we know what he was doing at Walter Reed.

RIP

Regardless of his fathers politics, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. RIP.

Common Sense

As much as I think Joe Biden is a joke politically, that man has seen a share of personal tragedy that no one should have to go through.

RIP Beau Biden.

Ex-PH2

I agree. His first wife Neilia, carrying a baby, was killed when a big rig hit her car with her and the two boys, who were both badly injured. Now he has to bury one of them too soon.

I hope someone seizes this opportunity to tell Joe Biden his son must of had big balls. I’m sure that would be very comforting.

B Woodman

No parent should ever have to bury one of their own children.

OC

Amen, Mr. Woodman, from someone who has.

As much as I don’t like his dad, I wouldn’t wish this pain on him.

RIP Mr. Biden.

Prayers for the Biden family in their time of need.

Every story identifies him as the son of Joe Biden. Without that, his death doesn’t news outside of Delaware. He had been ill for quite some time and his illness may explain why he mysteriously declined to take a Senate seat that was his for the taking. His death is a sad event for his family and friends and he appears to have had more class than his brother and father. I hope for his family what I hope for all families who lose a loved one at any age: peace and comfort.

Amen to that, he voluntarily raised his hand and signed the same blank check that every other Honorable Veteran has, that puts him a hundred leagues higher than his dad and brother in my book regardless of his politics, my condolences to the Biden Family.

Richard

He was NG. He held up his right hand and swore the oath. He mad a contribution. Too young gone from us. RIP.

Messkit

The Bronze Star can be awarded for meritorious reasons (w/”M” device). “Action” is not necessary.

Regardless, he raised his hand, took an oath, executed his mission in a combat zone, and returned a Veteran who served with distinction.

Can’t ask any more than that of a man.

When he checked into WR, word in the biz was that it was bad (I tried with push back to explain why he might be there), he deserved a good last shot or the best care because he was a Vet and a child of one of our national leaders.

He was far too young for such a good man.

In the end his Country did the right thing for him and his family.

God Bless the wife, children and extended Biden family.

Well said (as usual) MCPO. Brain cancer sucks in the worst way. I had a friend/boss die of it. The only person I wish it on is Jane Fonda.

MCPO NYC USN Ret.

Rog all. I have seen way too much death lately.

Prayers out for the Biden family in their time of sorrow.

What everyone has said here and more.
Joe Biden may be a EPIC doofus, but, to lose a child to brain cancer, hell, for any reason, SUCKS.
I actually feel bad for him and his family.
Thanks for your service Bo Biden and R.I.P.
