Rick Dean Starr; another phony secret squirrel

| April 3, 2015

Rick Dean Starr (5)

Scotty sends us his work on this fellow, Rick Dean Starr, who says that he’s been quiet about his service as a secret squirrel who invaded Nicaragua for the DEA in 1884 with his M60 light machine gun, but no helmet or ammo.

Rick Dean Starr claim (3)

And we all jumped with Claymores taped to our helmets, didn’t we?

Rick Dean Starr claim (1)

You should have gone with your first instinct and kept your mouth shut, Rick;

Rick Dean Starr claim (2)

Rick Dean Starr rack (6)

It must’ve been tough fighting those drug dealers in the Nicaraguan jungles dragging that 105mm howitzer around with you, Rick. Because he was an artilleryman in Fort Ord, according to his records, no Distinguished Service Cross, no Purple Hearts, no service awards for leaving the country, but probably because he’s so secret squirrel;

Rick Dean Starr FOIA (1)

But, hey, hes got that Army Service Ribbon, but they don’t just hand those out to everyone, you know. Not to mention, the Army Lapel Button – the highest award for valor.

Vietnam War January 1, 1961 – August 14, 1974
Persian Gulf War August 2, 1990 – November 30, 1995
Global War on Terrorism September 11, 2001 – Present Day

scott

Why is the Army lapel button on his 214? I’ve never heard of that as an award.

Chris

The Army lapel button is given to soldiers at ETS, it’s added to your DD-214 because you are only automatized one.

Chris

sorry authorized ,,damn auto-correct.

Make Mine Moxie

Am I reading that correctly? Did he tell someone on Facebook that he received an Army Distinguished Service Medal for “over 800 days in active combat”?

Over two straight years of combat…well, maybe combating the urge to lick the windows.

Mark Lauer

Not only that, but apparently it’s a DOWNGRADE from the Silver and Bronze Star Medals!

FasterThanFastjack

He’s legit, I was in the same company as him as a space shuttle door gunner during a secret op to the moon. His codename was Chocolate Starrfish.

Hondo

Bet he liked hot dog flavored water, too. (smile)

FasterThanFastjack

Are you kidding me? That’s all we had to drink up there until he pushed leadership to put a Starbucks in the ISS… Talk about a high speed warrior, man. Total inspiration.

David

Always love seeing the seekret skwirrels who were so awesome, who, y’know, barely managed to qualify with their weapon. Wait – I should remember – gun bunnies spend hours every day on the range with their M16s – silly me.

Hondo

The text accompanying his “ribbon rack” is a riot.

What a tool. Nothing but a LSoS.

USAF RET

At least there is a reasonable explanation for only getting an AA for his involvement in Grenada. He was only there at the very end of it since he only joined the Army in 9 Dec 1983 and Operation Urgent Fury was from 25 October – 15 December 1983. So instead of the first week of Basic he went to Grenada, got himself only a AA then back to Basic; must have been hard for him.

Just incase your new here //sarc//

Bobo

I love the excuse about the DSM being for being denied a BSM w/ “V” or SS. That’s one hell of an upgrade from BSM to DSM. Asshat.

Instinct

Good Lord! The shit is piled so high he must have used a backhoe to do it!

MustangCryppie

“…invaded Nicaragua for the DEA in 1884 with his M60 light machine gun…”

Wow! Looks great for having been in THAT long!

Bobo

Also, no OLCs go on the AGCM. if he’d gotten more than one, he might know that.

Mike W

Did they have M60s in 1884? 🙂

MustangCryppie

The claymore on the helmet is CLASSIC!

Hondo

Bet he’s got it facing backwards, too. (smile)

A Proud Infidel®™

Absolutely BRILLIANT! I wonder what story he tells about that? Is he a sooperdooper Giduck-trained Shovel Ninja as well? He looks like the type you’d see in a bookstore wearing camo clothing while reading “Soldier of Fortune” with a scowl on his face thinking it makes him look like an intimidating badass!

Bathory

He liked to claim he was a Green Beret when I knew him. I guess he hadn’t heard of Delta back in the 90s. I’m surprised he didn’t add Somalia on there, or maybe he did and I didn’t notice.

GDContractor

My money says that gitarcarver will tell us where that photo originally came from.

ChipNASA

Google Claymore HALO and you’ll get about 6 of those.

USMCE8Ret

According to him, he was at the “Proving Grounds” when that photo was taken.

I guess he was testing to be the new “Claymore-from-the-air weapon-delivery-system”.

Frankie Cee "loud and clear"

A personal, local friend of mine, a retired CWO out of 7th SF Group offers this:
“It was done by an instructor (note the black container) at Yuma Proving Grounds AZ back in the day as a joke and has been all over the internet! I had one with three guys with training claymores taped to their heads in free fall somewhere. If I find it I will post it!”

Dennis - not chevy

The claymore on the helmet was the proof of concept test done for the new lasers from the eyes weapons. These weapons, code named Medussa 2015, are so secret they can only be shown on the internet and late night tv 1950’s monster movie classics.

A DSM for 800 days in combat? Where’s mine? All I got were 2 ARCOMs and an ICM with a buncha stars on it…

Skippy

I feel cheated to. All I got was a ICM a GWOT-E ARCOM now I feel cheated Lol….

Weekend Warrior in Texas

Cheated? Man, I got three DD-214s from the US Army, and one from the US Navy and nary any kind of lapel pin. Unless one counts the one I got at the San Diego Zoo. It has a Polar Bear on it.

Skippy

Wow you collect 214s too.. I have three also it’s the last two that kill me Lol…. I’ve never gotten a pin either I feel left out… Hmmmm no big deal before my retirement I was placed in recruiting I have all kinds of Pogi bait (aka) tee shirts pens foot balls ext ext…..

Ho lee fuk.

RM3(SS)

If you read his timeline, he was so secret and so cool that he was in Afghanistan in 1986. Must have been in that top secret military exchange program with the Soviets.

A Proud Infidel®™

HEY, he might have been Giduck’s wingman on Sooperdooperseekritskwirrelwonderrangerscoutsniper Spetznaz Missions! /sarc. 😀

CLAW131

A truly undistinguished four years active duty as a member of the E-4 Mafia.

Not even a Army Achievement Medal, although he served during a time period when you literally were awarded an AAM for making it to morning formation (on time) five days in a row.

He may as well stay in Canada and run his bogus crap up there. He’s not even eligible for membership in the American Legion here in the States.

Bathory

I feel sorry for Canada, though. His citizenship dropped their national IQ by quite a bit.

trackback
Civilwarrior

…oh and look, he’s an ultra liberal lefty douchebag living in Canada. What a surprise!

USAF RET

Canada is a good place for him. They have stricter SV law. I wonder if it applies to other countries military POS or just to Canadian? Might have to find out and report him.

1371 Actual

Id assumed Canada probably didn’t even have any SVaws on the books. There might be a happy ending to this after all

Bathory

What’s really funny is how he was an ultra-right-wing racist douchebag before he married a Canadian and moved up there… and he also took Canadian citizenship. We should yank his US citizenship.

A Proud Infidel®™

His US Citizenship should have been voided the day he accepted Canadian Citizenship.

Bathory

My mom worked for the feds and said that idiots like him get to keep their American passport, lord knows why.

Mike W

Not for nothing but isn’t the DSM pretty much a GO award?

Hondo

Yeah, from what I’ve seen these days it pretty much is.

Skippy

WHY F up a good service record ????… I spent a total of 8 years active and guard I’m proud of my service. Boring as hell. But I was able to serve my country. In this day and age TV Internet newspapers being Full of shit is not going to work every well or very long also the VA can be a pain in the ass to work with. Just saying… Lol.. Be proud of your servive and be happy live life and be a nobody like me and to rest of us ! ! ! It’s not that hard is it ????

PS I’ve been blown up, all be it quarter mile away. crushed and electrocuted. And shoot at in my civilian job, scared the shit out of me too…why in the hell would anybody go around and brag about being shoot three times is above me. Watch what you wish for you mite get it.
THATS ALL DONE RANTING ALL CLEAR
THANK YOU

Ex-PH2

He should be careful. Wannabe terroristas are looking for people like him. Like my friend said last night, they want to take heads and shoot murrikans.

What – no gedunk medal? Am I supposed to to take this sandbagger seriously?

nbcguy54ACTUAL

Need some Navy help here. On his FB page, he claims to have transited the Panama Canal on a carrier during the 80’s. The last carriers small enough to go through are/were Essex class.
So two questions:
Any Essex class carriers still active in the 80’s that would be swapping from one big ocean to another?
And: Would a whole carrier group transit the canal like that? Seems a little risky…

ChipNASA

Maybe you guys can check with Shane Ladner.

😀 😀 😀

David

Based on http://www.uss-bennington.org/essex.html it appears most of the class were decommissioned at latest in the ’70s. The few that were decommissioned in the ’90s were ships like the Lexington, which was a training ship up to 1989.
I thought most carriers were too big to go through the Canal? I’m just an Army guy, so someone wiser than I needs to chime in.

Airdale USN

The old WWII era carriers could go through the canal. The bigger nuclear ones can not.

Some of the “helicopter assault ships” that look like aircraft carriers can probably still make it through but not the main fleet carriers.

The max length of the canal locks is 965 ft and that is less than many of the current carriers. The nimitz is 1092 ft long (our main nuclear carrier class) and cant go through.

John Gagnier

Shit, I was shot 250 times from a machine gun but all the bullets bounced off my superman outfit or I used my super Ninja skills to deflect them. So, should I get 250 PH’s? He certainly has convinced his “favorite niece” that he is a super hero. The only sad thing about the attack that I survived is that my fellow super heroes (Batman, Robin, The Green Lantern, and Kato) did not survive. That’s why I have not talked about it until now. It hurts so bad. And I thought you were all way too young to understand until now

Frankie Cee "loud and clear"

I went to his Facebook page and left comments on several of his photos, linking back to here. I wonder if the woman that he claims as a wife is unaware of his asshattery, and if so, when she will be here to defend him. Or, an alternative, is she in on it like Derrick Church’s wife, and covering for him?

Mike

Facebook page gone… amazing!

Bathory

So’s his wife’s. lol

Bathory

Nope, there it is. I could only find it by the links his “favorite” (and only) niece has on her page.

The closet Rick Dean “Brown” Starr here got to Nicaragua was hanging out in some Mexican borders towns looking for some “playtime” with under age boys.

I love how “professional” his “rack” looks. my rack from a Star Trek fan club (which had the awards designed by a REAL military veteran looks more real than that crap
