Eleck Stone, the newest Ranger
Eleck Stone had a wish to be Ranger. He also has cystic fibrosis, but the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Rangers of the 75th Ranger regiment combined forces to help Eleck’s wish come true, according to the Army Times;
Eleck Stone joined soldiers with the 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia, for two days of training last week — everything from airborne operations training to time on the shooting range to a simulated raid alongside his battle buddies and his younger brother, Bryce.
After a stellar performance, “the Regimental Commander and Regimental Sergeant Major voted unanimously to add Eleck to the ranks of the U.S. Army’s premier raid force,” the unit’s Facebook page announced Friday.
I’m thinking that live firing that .50 caliber machine gun would cure anything that ails young Eleck.

He’s got more skills than a lot of Army Corporals I’ve seen.
Nice Grouping.
*runs*
😀 😀
Well, I guess we know now what you Zoomies consider a “nice shot group”. (smile)
Well, we’re used to doing it with an A-10 but you know how that is *THESE* days.
🙁
Fella, those ain’t 30mm holes in that target. (smile)
well, you know how it is with the Air Force… when you’ve been told for years that |————| is six inches….
BZ to the people that made this young man’s dream come true… Well Done!
I second that! Very cool.
Cool.
RLTW.

First picture could be the best EVAH.
Right in the feels.
That is great pic! Here’s hoping the very best for Eleck and his family.
Ahh Good Stuff ! ! ! ! Ranger…. 🙂
Sign the kid up… he has a better grouping than most privates in Basic… Thanks to all that made this happen since it put a smile on my face today…
Awwwww. Nice. Very, very nice.
I enjoy articles like this, KUDOS to all who took part in giving the kid his wish!!
One of my buddies in Batt said that a tabbed spec-4 taught him to walk into any room and yell “TAB CHECK!” It was apparently mayhem.
Outstanding job Rangers!Kudos not just to them, but to the Regiment and SOCOM, and Make a Wish Foundation for making it happen!
One of my fondest memories in the Army, was going to an orphanage in Italy at Christmas to hang out with the kids there. Kids, they still get me right square in the chest.
When they asked him why he wanted to do this, his answer: They’re Rangers! Good Job!
My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis so this article hits home for me. Thanks to the Ranger community for making this kids wish come true. I get goose bumps thinking of the joy this kid must of felt when going through this training. RLTW, All Day Every DAY, ATW, Airborne!
My heart goes out to you and your daughter Hon.
I can only say that the advances in medicine are working 24/7/365 to make this disease a memory only.
I pray that God will see to it your daughter has a long and fruitful life.
Thanks for posting that.
And yes, it is dusty in here…
Either that or I am allergic to Phuzzz the cat all of a sudden.
+1
Thank you for the kind words. They are making great strides against CF. There are new drugs Kalydeco being one of them that are making these kids lead much easier lives. We are hoping my daughter can have that drug this summer. Crossing our fingers and saying our prayers.
Tom
I see two height challedged Rangers in the raid patrol picture. A fine thing to do by the 75th. Joe
This kid is more of a Ranger than Stephen “Cio” Burrell.
Or waddling William Derek “Doughnutslayer” Church!
I wonder whatever happened to turd boy Church.
Outstanding job gentlemen….BZ indeed…
I’ve worked with Make-A-Wish in the past. They do some very wonderful things. God Bless them, the 75th Rangers, and Eleck Stone.
Flagwaver, at the risk of raining on the parade here I have to say that Make_A_Wish used to be a good outfit. After they awarded a kid here n MN a bear hunt, the antis came out in droves and MAW buckled to the PC gods. Last I heard, they won’t grant a hunting or fishing trip anymore. I’m kinda surprised they allowed this, what with all the guns and such. A lovely lady out East stepped in and created Hunt Of A Lifetime. (Her own son had cancer and has since died).

I would bet that a contingent of Rangers is at this young man’s funeral if and when it happens.
What a great story, thanks for posting it !!!
Those Rangers are truly the best and brightest that this country has to offer.
Let it be the sons or grandsons of those Rangers. Miracles happen. They really do.
Is it allergy season already?
It is. Really bad in here today.
Lead the Way little Ranger!
GREAT job Rangers!
Those 2 look to be a little on the short & light side…but if the Sarn’t Major says they are in the Regiment I guess they are stacking up. 😉
BZ Rangers.
When I was in VIETNAM IN 68 AT LZ Oasis
a group of LRRP set up right by our bunker
pretty sure they were from the 75th Man talk about haveing big balls. Well now I know they have a heart as big as they balls. Nice work.
What a great story!
Totally off-subject, but is that the new Scorpion W2 operational camouflage those Rangers are wearing? I thought that wasn’t going to be released until this summer.
