Muath al-Kasaesbeh burned alive by ISIS?

| February 3, 2015

Mu'ath al-Kaseasbeh

Reuters reports that Mu’ath al-Kaseasbeh, the Jordanian pilot who was shot down and captured just before Christmas was burned alive by ISIS members according to ISIS supporters.

Reuters could not immediately confirm the five images, which showed a burning man standing in a black cage. Kasaesbeh has been in Islamic State captivity since his plane crashed over Syria in December.

Anyone who flies F-16s against ISIS is my brother.

ADDED at 3PM: It seems to be true, according to the Washington Post;

President Obama, speaking to reporters in Washington, said he was not yet briefed on the details of the video, but he called it “just one more indication of the viciousness and barbarity” of the Islamic State.

That’s it.

Unleash the ICBMs.

Pinto Nag

Looking at what he’s done to our country and particularly our military since he’s been in office, Chip, I wouldn’t say he would never hurt a fly. I would say he hurts who he wants to hurt.

Islamic terrorists don’t appear to be on his “A” list.

faboutlaws

Lets see how long it takes for Jordan to hang that female terrorist.

Arby

Word has it that they have already moved her to the prison where death sentences are carried out.

Arby

Death sentence is to be carried out “within hours” of her and 5 other terrorists. Six to one exchange is a start…

The Other Whitey

They should make the noose out of concertina.

Joe Williams

Or “The Won”B nor C list. Move on people no savages or terrorists here. Joe

While FAE is technically in the no no box.
The folks need an intro.

hymiehizbizkit

Very effective and widely unheard of.

David

Is that by the same sort of international convention by which we don’t use soft-tip or hollowpoint bullets, napalm, CS, WP, and land mines? Think every stinkin’ one of ’em says “you can’t use this against any country’s military” in one way or another. We’re not fighting a national military – the only reason we abide by restrictions like this is because we voluntarily restrict ourselves, I think. Hondo, haven’t you read the various accords? Can you correct/confirm?

H1

Great way to reduce obstacles, with some side effects.
“The [blast] kill mechanism against living targets is unique–and unpleasant…. What kills is the pressure wave, and more importantly, the subsequent rarefaction [vacuum], which ruptures the lungs…. If the fuel deflagrates but does not detonate, victims will be severely burned and will probably also inhale the burning fuel. Since the most common FAE fuels, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, are highly toxic, undetonated FAE should prove as lethal to personnel caught within the cloud as most chemical agents”

And the reason we abstain from using them against non material targets.

“In urban settings it is very difficult to limit the effect of this weapon to combatants, and the nature of FAE explosions makes it virtually impossible for civilians to take shelter from their destructive effect.”

H1

Which makes it a perfect weapon to clean out an ISIS rats nest.

Ex-PH2

Dear God.

‘Anyone who flies F-16s against ISIS is my brother.’ Yes.

Steve

Agreed.

This conflict is going to make some unusual buddies. What was it the man said?

“…the only way to achieve peace between mankind is if aliens attacked…”?

Well, not aliens exactly, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a silver lining to this dark cloud. Imagine a bunch of nations who wouldn’t be caught dead in each other’s company are compelled to cooperate.

Either that or it’ll just fizzle out and fade into the background of eternal assymetric conflict between everyone.

Hondo

Barbaric. Literally.

Rest in peace, Lieutenant.

Pinto Nag

As long as we keep trying to play nice with these assorted vermin, the vermin will keep killing. And multiplying.

Old Trooper

Those dumb bastards have done it now. Jordan doesn’t play by the same rules that we do and they aren’t afraid to unleash a shitstorm of revenge against those animals; starting with hanging that woman terrorist.

missilefire

The motherfuckers…..It’s time to reactivate the ARC LIGHT B-52 strikes and teach this evil a lesson they won’t forget, or won’t live to tell

send Michael Moore in to recon the target area on the ground

rb325th

While ISIS brutally murders innocent civillians, forced conversions to Islam, and instances like this where they brutally execute prisoners as a form of propaganda…we sit by, and “play by the rules”. Screw that, and the worst thing this country did as a whole was to re-elect that impotent and sorry excuse for a CiC. He cannot take off the gloves, since he was born wearing them.

PtolemyinAfghanistan

US: Let’s write a strongly-worded statement condemning this barbaric act and declaring that we stand with Jordan.

Jordan: Unleash hell on ISIS and anyone in custody associated with them.

Flagwaver

It’s a good thing that ISIS aren’t terrorists, according to the White House.

This whole thing is disgusting and these pork-eating sons of motherless pigs need to be purged from this plane of existence.

Ex-PH2

The word ‘viciousness’ was actually used by bodaprez, but that’s all he did.

Instinct

Wow, he used a strong word like that! ISIS must feel really bad about how they acted.

PtolemyinAfghanistan

US: P.S.- Let’s start a hashtag campaign on Twitter, too- #Barbaric #WeStandWithJordan

Richard

I hope that Jordan returns the favor.

Jordan is a stabilizing influence in the Middle East. The Egyptians, Saudis, Syrians, and Iraqis don’t like Jordan because of some stuff from the 48 and 56 wars and the fact that Jordan make a peace treaty with Israel before any of the others. But Jordan still has a lot of Palestinians and they have a border with the west bank, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.

There was a story from the 80s. I recall that this happened in Lebanon. Hezbollah kidnapped a lot of people in the 80s, one of them was a Soviet diplomat. The Soviets kidnapped a Hezbollah member, cut off something important (the part varies but the “cut off” part doesn’t), and delivered the part to Hezbollah. The Soviet citizen was returned and Soviet citizens remained untouched for the next ten years. I don’t know if that story is true, I want it to be true. I think that the moral is clear, “don’t do anything to me that you don’t want to suffer for yourself”. This is how the rules are set.

I think that someone, like Jordan, need to explain the rules to ISIS. Enter the black cage.

Clearly the US is far too prissy to do something as simple and effective as that. After all, we have laws that ISIS can hide behind. See how well that is working out for us?

Richard

responding to myself:

http://articles.philly.com/1986-01-15/news/26052630_1_hostage-crisis-soviet-captives-islamic-liberation-organization

I had some details wrong the the moral stands. That story was published in 1986.

Sparks

Richard…A big Roger That! I only hope we video tape what we do and send it to Al-Jazerra. I hope the Jordanians do the same.

But when our administration finds it difficult to even give a bad name to these murdering bastards and call them what they are or declare we are truly at war with them and intend to kill all of them and their families and neighbors, we will continue to be a laughing, running joke to ISIS and countries like Russia.

Arby

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_Group

Six years later, in October 1985, Alpha Group was dispatched to war-torn Beirut, Lebanon. The Kremlin was informed of the kidnapping of four Soviet diplomats by the militant group, the Islamic Liberation Organization (a radical offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood). It was believed that this was retaliation for the Soviet support of Syrian involvement in the Lebanese Civil War. However, by the time Alpha arrived, one of the hostages had already been killed. Through a network of supporting KGB operatives, members of the task-force identified each of the perpetrators involved in the crisis, and once identified, began to take the relatives of these militants as hostages. Following the standard Soviet policy of no negotiations with terrorists, some of the hostages taken by Alpha Group were dismembered, and their body parts sent to the militants. The warning was clear: more would follow unless the remaining hostages were released immediately. The show of force worked, and for a period of 20 years no Soviet or Russian officials were taken captive, until the 2006 abduction and murder of four Russian embassy staff in Iraq. However, the veracity of this story has been brought into question. Another version says that the release of the Soviet hostages was the result of extensive diplomatic negotiations with the spiritual leader of Hezbollah, Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, who appealed to King Hussein of Jordan, and the leaders of Libya and Iran, to use their influence on the kidnappers.

(Higgins). But all the progs in Hollywood told me that Chris Kyle was a racist for calling those people savages!

Could it be that they were {gasp} wrong?

Richard

If they said it, it must be true.

Assholes.

Ex-PH2

ISIL/IS must want a real war very badly.

They are not human. They are not even animals. They are just things that kill on command, like robots.

2/17 Air Cav

Has the White House/State Department issued a statement yet deploring this despicable and cowardly act? That’s important. It’s especially important that someone say that Islam has been hijacked by these criminals, that most of Islam is repulsed by the many beheadings that preceded this burning, that blah, blah, join with all peace-loving people…blah, blah…solidarity…blah, blah…unity..blah, blah…bring to justice…not sleep…blah, blah, blah.

Ex-PH2

Yes, the word ‘viciousness’ was used once. That is all.

Slick Goodlin

Words from the character Pimpernel Smith seem appropriate for ISIS.

“You will never rule the world… because you are doomed. All of you who have demoralized and corrupted a nation are doomed. Tonight you will take the first step along a dark road from which there is no turning back. You will have to go on and on, from one madness to another, leaving behind you a wilderness of misery and hatred. And still, you will have to go on… because you will find no horizon… and see no dawn… until at last you are lost and destroyed.”

Pinto Nag

We can get to that “lost and destroyed” part anytime now. They’re long overdue, in my opinion.

Guard Bum

It literally hurts my heart to see this. Peace to the LT and his family and the people of Jordan.

OldSoldier54

We are in a war to the knife. Until that moron in the White House understands that, the US will keep half-stepping.

And this kind of barbarism will remain in effect. Alas, I see no change until January, 2017. More’s the pity …

O-4E

Wonder what fat fuck Michael Moore has to say about this

Pinto Nag

His ‘reasoning’ would be that ISIS is the victim of (whatever, fill in the blank), and not the pilot they burned to death.

Richard

I propose a new acronym, That Fat Fuck Michael Moore – TFFMM or f2m2. What say you?

Ex-PH2

I say who give a fuck what that asshole thinks?

If he ever had any decency, it left him a long time ago.

Now would be a good time to help uphold a campaign promise – start emptying Guantanamo.
I’d say 10 of ’em, suitably weighted, in deep water – with a warning that the next ISIS prisoner execution buys 100.

Veritas Omnia Vincit

It’s time to put Harvard chemist Julius Feiser’s product back to work, if the turds in ISIS/IL wish to see what fire actually looks like we can teach them how 1800 degrees changes your nation and your hiding places into fiery pits of death.

It’s not likely to happen though when the president’s staff can’t even ascertain what the ideology behind the islamic state might be….what a pile of jagoffs at 1600 PA Ave these days.

Toasty Coastie
Flagwaver

I say we turn the entire area for 10 miles around where this happened into a plate of glass, then let Jordan come in and chip it apart for commemorative plates.

Ex-PH2

Can’t happen soon enough.

David

agreed – where did it happen? That’s the problem, we know what happened but not precisely where. I suppose in our ignorance we would be tempted to target any largish troop concentrations we could find.

And VoV has an excellent point – they use burning, WE use burning. Flamethrowers, napalm… that’s some evil shit. Sounds about right.

Ex-PH2

Will incendiary bombs be okay?

Veritas Omnia Vincit

Yes you drop those first and the second wave of bombers drops the napalm into the fires started with the incendiaries earlier. The temperature at ground level can get over 1500 degrees in the resulting firestorm…very effective at illustrating what hell might be like for our islamist enemies.

Oderint Dum Metuant

Ex-PH2

VOV, I took Latin and so did you, but not everybody else took conversational Latin.

However, I will add my family’s motto to what you said: Vigila et Ora.

A Proud Infidel®™

I wonder how it would go if they were to firebomb the outer part of the city, and outer ring, and let it slowly burn inward? I would think of it as an intro for those animals, they’re eventually going to be burning for a very long time!

Ex-PH2

Dig a moat around it first. Carpet bomblets will work for that.

Then follow with napalm and plough the roads.

And remember to set their confiscated oil wells on fire, too.

11B-Mailclerk

The armed forces need live fire training areas. I think Islamic State is a good place to do this.

No need to annoy people or critters here in the USA. Just send the training units there, and light ’em up.

Think Fort Irwin NTC, with better special effects and fewer range police calls.

Joe Williams

Thinking of B52s with loads of cluster bombs(is that the that opens up and drops 100s of bomblets all over the area) and seal the border for the SEA. The other dream is many flights ofB52s with loads of nape. Nowhere in the Koran is anything about burning your emenies . This should make the Jordanians outraged and fight harder. RIP in Peace Lt. . Japan has also said to expect retaliation.

Japan.

As I recall, they know something about swords, brutality, and about the value of surprise.

Where is the popcorn? This could get interesting! If next month Abe says “Yes, Japan is a Nuclear power. And Yes, that large glowing crater in the Mideast is proof.” It would not surprise me at all.

Or, if a couple platoons of SDF/Coasties run amok in a few sandy places, swords flashing and heads rolling in the best Jedaigeki fashion, vids posted widely, it would surprise me not at all.

Japan has centuries of martial tradition, corked by a single world-class ass kicking, tempted by a looming neighborhood threat, and resuscitated by a stupendously stupid jackass barbarian move. And no one currently in Washington has the stones or stature to say, “don’t you dare”.

Excerpts from AP follow-up story this morning:

In Raqaa, the Islamic State group’s de facto capital, the militants gleefully played al-Kaseasbeh’s slaying on big-screen televisions, Syrian activists there said.

The head of Sunni Islam’s most respected seat of learning, Egypt’s Al-Azhar Mosque, even said that Islamic State militants deserved the Quran-prescribed punishment of death, crucifixion or the chopping off of their arms.
“Islam prohibits the taking of an innocent life,” Ahmed al-Tayeb, the mosque’s grand sheik, said in a statement.

U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter Jr., a California Republican, said after a meeting with congressional lawmakers and King Abdullah that the Jordanian monarch had been visibly angry and promised swift and certain retaliation against Islamic State group militants.
“They’re starting more sorties tomorrow than they’ve ever had. They’re starting tomorrow,” Hunter told the Washington Examiner in an interview published online Tuesday night.
Hunter added the king also said: “The only problem we’re going to have is running out of fuel and bullets.”

Note: the female suicide bomber Sajida al-Rishawi and another militant were executed shortly after King Abdullah returned home. Here’s the link to the AP story:
