President Trump details success indicators that did not go as critics predicted

| December 27, 2025 | 91 Comments

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to announce that the tariffs generated great wealth and unprecedented national security. Trump also announced that the trade deficit was cut by 60% and he mentioned the recent 4.3% GDP growth and the lack of inflation. John Jordan, Republican strategist, said that the economic doomsayers have been proven wrong again.

From Newsmax:

Republican strategist John Jordan told Newsmax on Friday night that the economic doomsayers have all been proven wrong by Trump, yet again.

“We were told that the economy, the Trump economy, was going to collapse,” Jordan told “The Record With Greta Van Susteren.”

“These are the same clowns that back in April said we were going to have massive runaway inflation and a recession.”

Jordan argued that those predictions were driven more by political bias than objective analysis.

He compared today’s economic commentators to public health officials in the COVID era, accusing both groups of overstating risks while dismissing evidence that contradicted their narratives.

“Economists in many ways on Wall Street have become the public health officials of 2025: utterly discredited because of their political bias,” he said.

Presidential adviser Dick Morris echoed the debunking of Trump’s critics, including Democrats, who have struggled to move the goalposts as Trump keeps splitting the uprights.

And a merry Christmas to you as well.

You don’t do well with facts, do you commie? Or do you prefer ” terrorist supporter” these days?

SFC D

It’s almost exactly the same as an athletic supporter.

NHSparky

Smells like butthurt bitch in here.

Commissioner Wretched

And in the end, that’s really all the left has – name calling. They lose in every other area, as facts don’t care about feelings. So all that’s left is petulant six-year-old behavior like name calling.

Pathetic.

e.conboy

He IS a pathetic whiner!

So said the fucking brain dead cult fuck clown himself.

On your last day of military service were you escorted to the front gate and had your military ID confiscated? I’ve seen it happen to an officer.

SFC D

That would be awesome to watch! We kicked out a shitbag once, the CO had me tail him to the gate and report his successful departure.

Anonymous

Happened to our Bn S1 at Ft Bliss… got his PAC NCO’s wife pregnant and (unescorted to the gate) stopped by the housing area on the way out and split with the dude’s wife and kids.

Had a BDE CDR (11th SIG) get a DUI. Only obvious punishment was a GOMOR, but his next assignment was Chief of staff, West Point. Exiled. Retired as an O6, probably would’ve made O8. Long-term punishment.

Toxic Deplorable B Woodman

Ok.
A serious question.
If tariffs are generating such great wealth, AND we, the citizens are still paying income taxes, AND PDJT47 is continuing to decimate (reduce by 10%) the FedGov bureaucracy and budget…..where does the national debt stand now, compared to 1-2 years ago?

Last edited 4 days ago by Toxic Deplorable B Woodman
nbcguyACTUAL

The debt still sux but the deficit is ever so slowly decreasing.

David

Thought the national debt was supposed to be paid off by the tariffs?

rgr769

It would probably take over twenty years to pay off the national debt solely from tariff revenue. Step one is to stop increasing the national debt.

e.conboy

Paying for those illegal migrants to enjoy lives better than many Americans.

I can’t think of a single economist out there with a shred of credibility remaining. They uniformly tossed it in the dumpster in January in the name of panic politics.

So I read all 3 articles you cited. One was from Aug and another in September. The final was Dec 19th. In none of them do they refute Trump’s claims with any evidence, just anger that “Trump lies”. Not one of the articles shows why his policies are failing or why the economy is not in a good place. I understand your frustration that Trump was elected again, but if a Democrat President had dropped gas prices by 35 cents on average, inflation down and the economy humming I would give credit. The unfortunate thing is Trump could cure all cancer and you would still be irrational and give no props. Your posts used to get me irritated, but now I just look at you like the 2-headed goat at the freak show: just a sad situation and I feel pity for you.

Fyrfighter

Paid 1.99 a gallon this morning.. Last time I saw that price, wanna guess who the President was???

rgr769

I saw a report than gas at Sam’s Club in Commiefornia is down to $3.56 per gallon, after commonly selling for over $4.25 per gallon for many months. I guess the cuttlefish doesn’t care cuz he doesn’t have a vehicle with a combustion engine, if any.

Same-Same silly-kon valley Costco.

A Proud Infidel®™

Does he even have a pot to piss in? I bet he lives in some pisshole of an apartment. I’ve read that gas prices in CA are are going to be insanely high because of what Newsom has done to the oil companies.

SFC D

There won’t be any oil companies in California very soon.

11B-Mailclerk

Nor many billionaires to pay the taxes. Or millionaires.

Leaving. Mostly.

We are going to wind up having the DoW run that Golden Shitshow after the Leftroids finish ruining it.

Forest Bondurant

Yep. Valero Energy announced it will close it’s refinery in California next April. More plan to follow suit.

A Proud Infidel®™

Yep, Chevron has fled the coop in CA as well, very soon everything in CA is going to be insanely expensive because of fuel costs!

That wealth tax will be found unconstitutional if applied to anyone’s income earned after they permanently change their domiciles to states outside Commiefornia.

If Trump cured cancer, the progs would claim he was ruining the medical industry by putting all those medical professionals out of work.

Yup, I read all three and reached the same conclusion. Hey Lars! Where’s the empirical evidence?

Economists are no more than weathervanes on an old barn. The only difference is they don’t blow with the wind; they blow according to the Democratic Party.

Slow Joe

I have absolutely zero confidence in any of the economists criticizing Trump, not because they criticize Trump, but because they consistently demonstrate they know nothing about economics.

Robert B. Reich is their standard. You might remember Reich as Clinton’s retarded dwarf. The labor secretary in the Clinton administration.

All those leftist economists act like Mises, Hayek, Friedman, Sowell, and Walter E. Williams never existed and never published any works on economics.

CDR D

Ah yes. The Robert REICH…

Tallywhagger

The tariffs spiked right through into grocery prices. Sheesh, tomatoes went up to $2/lb almost instantly because so much of them may have been coming from Mexico. I don’t that, for sure, but Walmart seized the opportunity to lay the increases fast and hard. Same with plain old iceberg lettuce.

I haven’t bought any beef this year. Sure hope that Trump works something out with Argentina. I’d like a steak every once in awhile. Haha, meanwhile, venison has been a good workaround.

Despite those complaints, it is nice to see some of the freeloading nations get a wake up call that America doesn’t work for them, better that they work with us.

Odie

From memory when I used to haul produce, but this time of year a lot of produce i.e. lettuce, tomatoes, avacados, carrots etc come from Mexico. It’s not until spring when above mentioned items start to be shipped again from California. Maybe then the tariffs will drop when taken from American producers and growers based in the US.

As far as meat products are concerned, try to find a local farmer who raises cattle or hogs, and would be willing to sell you half a cow or hog. Ask where you get your venison processed. They may have a recommendation for you.
