Tuesday morning feel good stories
Our first story this morning comes from Austin, Texas;
A few minutes before the shooting, several 911 calls came in reporting a man who had been walking around the neighborhood banging on doors.
When the suspect went to a home on Brantley Bend, he banged on the door and was able to force his way into the front entryway.
“The homeowner was alerted to the previous banging by his wife,” said Senior Police Officer Veneza Bremner. “At which point, he went to the front door and fired his weapon at the suspect, striking him in the front of his body.”
The suspect died at the scene. The husband and wife, along with their three kids, were home at the time of the incident.
“The homeowner feared for his life and his family’s life,” said Bremner.
The second story comes from New Mexico;
Police arrested Erica Duran, 32, on Maez Road after an Agua Fría Street homeowner fired one shot from his gun as she allegedly attempted to burglarize his home, said Lt. Andrea Dobyns of the Santa Fe Police Department. The round hit the ground and no one was injured during the incident, she said.
The homeowner had not been identified as of Sunday afternoon, and Dobyns said she did not know what type of gun he used. According to the police report, at about 11:48 a.m. Sunday, Duran broke a window to the man’s home and then armed herself with a piece of glass, prompting the man to fire.

Good point, “I feared for the life of myself and my family”.
AND
Make sure YOUR side of the story is the only one being told.
See – range time DOES pay off.
Don’t mess with Texas.
B Woodman…”Make sure YOUR side of the story is the only one being told.” A BIG Roger That!!!
Read the full article y’all. Not a feel good story, really, but a justified shooting nonetheless.
Totally agree. This is as bad a nightmare as it gets for the homeowner. The real fault lies with the staff that let an autistic man get out of the facility. I live in the Austin area and the media is really teeing off on him being a CHL instructor with a “high level” of firearms proficiency. In Texas deadly force can be used when someone is trying to get in a home, we don’t have to wait until they are inside. I feel for the homeowner and the dead guys family. Nobody wins in this one.
“Dobyns said she did not know what type of gun he used.”
Does it matter? That question never even popped into my head.
