Afghanistan; the victory lap
The Washington Times reports that the President, that Obama fellow, plans on taking a victory lap for the end of the war in Afghanistan, despite the lessons that he should have learned from the Bush “Mission Accomplished” thing and his own touting of the not-so-end of the war in Iraq. I guess it’s more of a wishful thinking thing, or that popular “Hope & Change” thing we hear about these days.
The president is traveling Monday to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey, where he’ll join Republican Gov. Chris Christie in thanking troops for their service in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
“Our war in Afghanistan is coming to a responsible end,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address.
But Mr. Obama also said the end of combat in Afghanistan “doesn’t mean the end of challenges to our security.”
It also doesn’t mean that the commitment to the war in Afghanistan has ended either – more than 10,000 troops will remain there. In fact, two of them, Sgt. 1st Class Ramon S. Morris, 37, of New York, New York; and Spc. Wyatt J. Martin, 22, of Mesa, Arizona of the 3rd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas were killed just this weekend in the wave of violence that swept across Afghanistan in the wake of our withdrawing troops.

Yep, and I support and respect the Office of the President of the United States. However I cannot bring myself to support the current occupant of that office. No one has done more to endanger, enfeeble, and impoverish America and her people. No CINC since Carter has been so profoundly incompetent and careless with American security. I am unable to think of a President whose priorities were more out of touch with reality. Dark days.

I really don’t care much for this Obumba fellow, or his hilderbeast spouse. I’d say more but my driveway can’t accommodate all of the Suburbans.
I wish Veterans would follow Hussein around to all his political events and boo him.

Troops behind him looked like they were overdue for a head call.
For an administration so dialed into “diversity” you think they could find at least one prior service to have on the speech writing staff.

Well…DUH!!! Forgive me for not being surprised. All he has done is to embolden them by telling them every move we’ve made before we made it, letting the know for sure he has no balls to fight and kill them all but he’s leaving thousands of troops there for…that I haven’t figured out. Since the hamstrung ROE will only become more binding and we will incur more American losses as the Taliban rushes head long towards Kabul.
