Teti files lawsuit
Earlier this month, we reported that Discovery Channel personality, Joe Teti was ready to file a lawsuit against some of our friends. Military Times reports that the suit has been filed in a North Carolina venue;
The lawsuit also names:
The Special Forces Association and its president, retired Army Col. Jack Tobin.
Retired Special Forces Sgt. Maj. George Davenport, a longtime SFA member who added Teti to his Special Forces Poser Patrol’s Facebook “Wall of Shame.”
Former Marine Scott Hughes, moderator of the Military Phonies website, who was among several calling on Teti to produce his active-duty DD-214 and National Guard NGB-22, both official military documents, listing units, schools, awards and other pertinent details of service.
Monique Haina, who the lawsuit claims has posted “dozens if not hundreds” of false and defamatory statements on Facebook and other websites.All are named for alleged defamation and causing Teti financial losses and emotional suffering.
Tobin and the SFA did not respond to repeated requests for comment. Davenport declined to comment until he could consult with his lawyer. Hawke and Hughes deny Teti’s claims.

In my opinion, I don’t think Teti has a chance and he’s probably sweating the discovery phase. But, like I’ve said before, this should be no surprise to anyone – it took him about a half hour after our first post about him for him to start threatening me with a lawsuit, and I basically gave him a tongue bath. The man can’t take criticism, even in small doses.

Teti needs to placate his legions of sycophants so this lawsuit to me isn’t about the merits, but rather the theory that by filing the lawsuit, Teti can tell his fans that he filed it as a means of discrediting and clouding the fact that he is not a combat veteran. So whenever the issue comes up, he can say, “I filed a lawsuit against those who say otherwise.” By the time the court dismisses this because Teti is a public figure, or Teti drops it after the defendants don’t back down to his chagrin and discovery proves he is not a combat veteran, Teti will claim victory anyway by hiding behind the nebulous “it’s classified which is why the case couldn’t proceed all the way.” My opinion anyway.

Thought I might share what I have already posted on topic elsewhere and Teti’s attorney better get used to hearing it: Joe Teti It seems Joe Teti who appears in a show called Dual Survivor has filed a lawsuit against several people for calling some of his military claims into question. The bantering going on between all of these people has been eating at me. I am not one to sit on the sidelines and say nothing when I see something is wrong. Since I get asked about it, I thought I would post my opinion on the whole thing. First, it appears Teti was a Marine. He did serve with RECON. I do not believe that is being disputed by anyone. It seems to me most of this could have easily been solved by Teti a long time ago. There are several parts of this dispute I can speak directly to. By the time Teti had joined the Marine Corps I had several enlistments under my belt. I was still on active duty long after he finished his only enlistment. I am familiar with some of the units he served in. His attorney states that Teti completed the Special Forces Underwater Operations Course. Several people have done their due diligence and contacted that school only to find out there is no record of him attending. According to his records that I have seen posted online there is no record of that Army course listed. The reality is they are both partially correct. To my knowledge the Marine Corps used the Diving School at Key West and it appears Teti did attend. He then had to complete an additional transition course when he got back to his unit that made you a Combat Diver, it appears Teti did that while in Pearl Habor. The Marine Corps no longer authorizes RECON units to conduct their own Combat Diver training. That change happened after Teti was discharged from the Corps. NDSTC did not include the Combat Diver portion until 1992. At least that is when the Corps began to officially recognize it.… Read more »
Can we say getting verbose boys and girls. Teti put on his resume that he was in Beirut. Let me be very clear, his records show he washed out of his Scuba school in Key West, FL three days after the bombing in Beirut. That was also 1 day after the Landing in Grenada, in case he tries to feed that line of shit to anyone. At that time the Corps had taken by beloved desk away from me. I was back on the gun line with sand in my ass and yes Teti, I was on my way to Beirut. I certainly do not remember his ass being anywhere in the vicinity of Beirut. Please include this addendum with my suggested apology:
“Additionally I made claims that I was in Beirut, Lebanon. I was not. I apologize to any Marine that was and especially to those who’s sacrifice we should all honor.”
If anyone thinks I take joy in writing any of this you are dead wrong. It makes me sick that I have to. Semper Fi.
Ok, people are killing me with this already. Last post I am going to bed. This is my best guess with the records I have seen. He went to scuba school. Did not pass. Some kind of guard duty. Back to a RECON unit and then back to Scuba school which he did pass. He then gets the MOS 8653. He did not pass both schools. Best I can see in these records he is an 0311 Marine that is scuba qualified. Nothing wrong with that. He does not have 8652 which is jump qualified. He is not both jump and scuba qualified which got you the much revered 8654. You are only considered a Force RECON Marine if you are 8654. Plain and simple.
If all of this confusion exists because Teti failed that course the first time out and is ashamed to admit it, then more shame on his ass. He could have cleared all this up with his records and explaining what did happen. How hard is that. To my knowledge the course he claims he went to was not recognized until 1992 by the Corps.
Of course even if my best guess on this is correct, that still leaves the ‘Combat Veteran’ claim and a copy of a resume that is posted online with a claim he was in Beirut.

Yea, I have about that much time. I got started in the mid 90’s after a guy in a shop I worked in, was running around telling bullshit Nam stories about shooting livestock, cutting ears off of enemy troops, kicking ’em out of helo’s and other shit that falls under “battlefield crimes”.

What little I saw of that two man survival show looked like the hippie knew what he was doing and the other guy was acting like a petulant child. Just my opinion, of course.

i helped that guy, i gave him my blessings to go do his thing after he did me wrong, i tried over and over to ask him to leave me be. some folks can’t get their head around it. a guy who lies like that, does alot more wrongs too. i ain’t got any kinda track record of lying, or snivelin’ or doin anyone wrong.
