Dakota Meyer trolls ISIS
Chief Tango sends us a link to Scout.com where they quote Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer saying what we’re all thinking;
“Let me say what a lot of us are thinking…If ISIS is using social media to track me, that’s a dream come true in my book. These guys are a bunch of bullies that just prey on the weak,” says Meyer. “I can’t travel over there anymore now that I’m out of the Marine Corps, so having them come to me would help out a lot. ISIS targeting the U.S. military is like a sheep targeting a lion. Hopefully one of these assholes actually shows up. They’ll definitely get more than they want at my place!”
He continues, “Actually, I think this warning should be taken seriously by all military members. I would hate for ISIS to go to anyone else’s home and for me to miss the opportunity to meet and greet them. I’ll take the responsibility to be the liaison for the military. I live in Columbia, Kentucky—oops, is that too much information? Oh well.”
Yeah, I’ve got 8,000 rounds and don’t get to the range as often as I should, so it would be nice if the targets would come here for a change.

I like this Marine a wee bit more than all the others.
Yep … Sounds like he spoke for most of us!
Well, Dakota, if they’re tracking you, you’re quite welcome at my humble abode.
Just let me know how you like your steak, chicken or ribs and potatoes (baked/fried/) and I’ll leave the light on for you.
OK … I am going to say it!
I BET YOU WILL!
He is a very handsome man!
Oh, Master Chief…. (shakes head) you are such a romantic slob.
Meyer for president 2016!!!!!!!!!!
Mattis/Meyer 2016, there I fixed it for you. 🙂
Good call.
I respect this man’s accomplishments immensely. Amazing man and amazing marine.
I saw this, it sounds great but I guess like always I’m the dick here….if you assume the social media will be used to track you to your home then sure spout off like this it sounds great and makes sense.
Is everyone prepared to be shot through a window at a restaurant? Defuse an IED on your car? Does anyone think these guys will just knock on the door or break a window and alert you? How about the photo op you use in the article? What if the two people involved in the picture taking have a third guy in the background who shoots you in the back? The DoD is urging some caution and that’s a wise idea.
The difference between a killer and a robber is simple, the robber has a profit motive and a get in and get out mentality. It makes defending against that easier. A killer isn’t in a hurry, isn’t working to your time frame and might decide to kill your mother your father or your siblings instead of you.
Facebook doesn’t link just you, it connects your family and friends. I think it’s wise to maintain a low profile for the sake of those people you know and love who are not prepared to go full warrior in the blink of an eye.
That’s the message from DoD, it’s wise to be prepared and it’s wise to be cautious.
Sorry if I come off like a dick on this, I just think the warning message is appropriate and should be considered serious if there was enough concern on the part of the FBI/DoD to release it to the wild.
VOV…My admiration and respect for Dakota Meyer are the highest. However I agree with you and the scenarios you posed. The best safety always starts with preparation and awareness. However ISIS types, even those here holding citizenship will not play by any rules. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Keep your heads up and if you use Facebook or other social medias, keep them locked down tight from the public eye.
That and a Concealed Firearm, DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!
A Proud Infidel®™…Roger That!
Dunno, VOV. You’re not being a dick, but you might be missing the point. It’s one thing to pay attention to the FBI/DoD alert; it’s another to roll over for a bunch of jihadists, and let them, through intimidation, ostensibly win by remaining silent.
It seems to me that Meyer is sending a clear signal that silence doesn’t mean acquiescence; it can also mean that a lot of people are really really pissed off. I say good for Meyer.
I also have a minor problem with the robbery/murder analogy. ISIS has an agenda in that it is trying to seize power using murder as a tool. The end game is just robbery in another form. This isn’t to be picky; it’s just pointing out a factor to keep in mind as far as the motivation of the players involved.
Agreed, thank you for the thoughtful response. I don’t disagree with you and I didn’t expect you or anyone else to be intimidated. It’s prudent to be using social media wisely not just because of ISIS, but for the garden variety thieves and turds that exist everywhere.
The ISIS agenda works well against unarmed opponents, much of the nation is unarmed in our large metropolitan areas and those stationed in such areas that can’t have a firearm need to be wise to their specific situation and the consequent limitations due to environment.
I thought that Meyers statement was great where it fits, but it’s not a one size fits all kind of thing. I wish it were.
VoV .. you are not a dick.
Me, I am a dick.
So I will net this out for those playing the TAH board game at home.
They are here, invited, with no srcutiny, for a purpose and with a most certain end … to fundamentaly change our country.
The current administration has facilitated a most dangerous world now … not only bagging on our door, but they free enter without screening … without saying hello or wiping their feet.
So, buy guns and ammo and legally carry and use firearms often in the protection of yourself and others.
It is a mess that was purposefully and knowingly facilitated.
Note: Reference above is not related to border violators. I am talking about serious transnational terrorists, HVE’s, race-baiters and takers, EDP lone wolves and the like.
Bang v Bag
Thanks, I agree with all of you. I am certain you know my feelings on most of this. We should be manufacturing tens of thousands of gallons of Napalm for use in our carpet bombing campaign against ISIS.
I’ve no quarrel with killing them, and I know you are all thinking along similar lines. If some fuck comes to my house they are most likely leaving in a zippered black bag on a gurney….some might end up buried in the sand under the pool liner so no one knows they are missing….
I respect what Dakota Meyers did and what he said about this, there are a great many military people for whom “come and get me” isn’t a great option and it’s important to remember that as well and be cautious on social media.
Maintaining some operational security regarding your social media is just a wise idea for a variety of reasons.
That is the thing about an ambush. It is really effective in the first little bit. So if I have to be one of the first, so be it, through a window or while I am taking a shit. They better make me first though cause if they don’t I wont be calling 911. I would rather die in a pool of my own blood than a puddle of my own piss. I didn’t hide from them over there, I damn sure wont hide from anyone here. Don’t fuck with Walt and stay off his lawn.
Nominate for Secy of Offense…
I second the nomination. Peace through Superior Firepower!!!!
I third the nomination for the guy who will shoot the HVE/ISIS maggot who shows up at a Patriots home looking for martyrdom.
Exactly who on here believes that they (ISIS or affiliates) are going to give you a chance to actually fight them? Bullies don’t fight fair, they hit you when you aren’t looking. They’re coming here to EXECUTE military personnel, not FIGHT them.
The fair is once a year. They might execute me or one of us, fuck em. After that they can not hide from every Dave Hardin left standing or me if I am. Talk is cheap. Watch and see, they bring that shit here biggest fucking mistake they could make. I wont be waiting on POTUS to issue orders.
I agree. It’ll be open season with no bag limit, if they start that sh*t.
VOV,where I live strangers are quickly noticed and watched. We are a small tight group here in this county. All hunters even the Women. Plus I am a old Nam vet and do not use facebook. The Farm and Ranch association might award me $5000.00 for ending a crook’s career. Joe
Understood Joe, my neighbors are good about that as well, but I’m not always home either….I have a facebook account that I update about 3 times a year….so no one is learning shit from my facebook page.
I just want folks to be aware these ISIS turds are not looking to prove their toughness by fighting a guy like Dakota while wearing a uniform…they kill women and children using secrecy to the moment of death in many cases and drift back into the shadows.
ISIS pukes trying to mess with us ME Vets is like chihuahuas messing with wolves!! Mr. Meyers, if you ever come around my AO, let me know in advance so I can be sure that I have enough beer for the both of us and the steaks are marinated and ready for the grill!! (The same applies for the rest of the fine People of TAH)
This is only an issue because our scumfuck “leaders” allow ISIS supporters entrance into the country and won’t go after them when they are very open about their allegiances.
Fucking Hussein’s response to Islamist scum running rampant all over the place? Don’t offend them!
OUT-FUCKING-RAGEOUS.
The objective of terrorism is to terrorize people, to make them fearful in going about their normal lives. When we get to the point where we are studying the landscape before venturing out, where we give our vehicles the once over for explosives, where we alter our routes to wherever it is we often walk or drive, well, just run the black flag up the pole and buy a prayer rug.
Gentlemen and ladies of course. Chill out. We all know that they are not going to come over here because they are terrified of us and know that we are armed to the teeth.
With all the new CCW laws being passed and the gun control idiots losing their asses every time they try to enact a new control, save for a couple of states, the majority of them have loosened them and given all of us an opportunity to exercise our God Given right to defend ourselves from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
These guys are a bunch of cowards and we continue to learn that the only people they seem to be able to find are FBI agents that sell them a bill of goods and a long prison sentence instead of a bomb.
If a couple of them do end up over here they will no doubt not look for us individually choosing to go for the easy kill…
The gun free, free fire zones usually filled with a target rich environment…
So, continue to be vigilant and I wouldn’t worry about it in the least. Period…
the only place my son is unarmed is when he’s on base.
Just saying.
The only place I am unarmed is at work. Plus, I have that rolling advertisement that I’m a Vet on my truck, compliments of the US Army Assoc. So, if they wanna dance, I’ll provide the music.
As i have said before, the neighbor’s hogs have to eat and my lawn needs fertilizer.
So, win-win.
Why do you all think I spend so much time figuring out how to use common objects like dental floss or cooking spray for self-defense? Do you know how much damage you can cause someone by merely throwing 5 pounds of flour in his face?
If those pigshits from the underbelly of the Seven Hells try to pull off some sort of stunt, they will either do it as drive-by shootings or go into a place where people are shopping or big crowds gather. The mall in Nairobi is an example. The Boston Marathon is another.
When I see people who would normally be looking for halal foods in one of the places I shop for groceries that does NOT carry that kind of product, my radar goes on full alert. That’s what you should be looking for – those who are definitely out of place, who seem to be looking around too much, who give you angry looks when they try to jump ahead of you in line.
There is a lot we take for granted. Don’t be complacent. At the same time, don’t over-react.
The most effective weapon is the prepared mind.
And, to riff on Heinlein, “There are no dangerous weapons, only dangerous people.”
Bring it.
You all do realize that people who are being cut from the military are people who were most likely trained in the use of weaponry of various kinds, don’t you?
And they still know how to use those guns and stuff, right?
Does anyone besides me see the irony in this? Do I have to explain it?
Ex, if a incident happens,I will make a run up to you. Do you like rifle or shotgun, pistols(semi automatic or revoler) with ammo for same. The crossbow is only good for about 40 yards and is slow to reload. Just thinking of you. Joe
Joe, you’re referring to the shooting range most hunters set for deer. They don’t like to go beyond 40 yards because it’s unethical to them.
There is a certain amount of bolt drop past 45 yards, but that can be compensated for with practice, and most people practice at the 50 to 70 yard range for better accuracy.
This shooter tested a Great Lakes Durango crossbow in 2006 at 100 yards and says he got better cluster results than he would with a rifle. He includes a picture. He points out that modern technology like a laser target sight makes the weapon more accurate.

In regard to reloads, people generally use a winch or pull-rope.
It’s a very lethal machine, and SpecOps people use them. That’s good enough for me.
