Why Am I Not Surprised?

| October 19, 2014

On Friday the World Bank declared that the fight against Ebola is being “lost”. The POTUS appointed an Ebola “czar” with no medical or public health background. And the chief executive for the semi-Communist left-leaning, “Progressive”, multinational, corporate-style NGO and “anti-poverty aid agency” called Oxfam claimed that Ebola “could become the definitive humanitarian disaster of our generation” – while calling for more government resources to be devoted to the crisis, of course.

Nothing unexpected in any of that, really. On the contrary: all was very predictable.

So, what did our illustrious POTUS do yesterday? Yeah, you guessed it: he went golfing with some guy from ESPN.

I wish I could say that’s unexpected or not predicted. But with this POTUS? Um, no – not unexpected, and also very predictable.

I seem to remember at least one other major historical figure famously was accused of engaging in his preferred recreational activities during a major crisis. Even though the accusation may well be false – historical accounts differ on that point – history didn’t treat him all that well. The phrase “fiddle while Rome burns” is today synonymous with both “disconnected, uncaring leadership” and “dereliction of duty”.

Sound like anyone we know?

Am I the only one hoping there’s some kind of military counter-coup to put this guy out of office and pull this spiraling plane up?

What a shitbag; golf, while Ebola spreads?

Farflung Wanderer…Uh oh! Now you’re gonna be on the NSA watch list for key words in a blog! That’s okay, I’m sure they see all my correspondence since I always bash Obama. I could care less.

Seriously though, unless Obama’s caddy keels over puking and shitting himself, saying, “man I knew I shouldn’t have visited family in Africa last week!”, he won’t give Ebola any more thought than he has already. Should that happen though, we would find out for sure how fast the POTUS could do the 100 meter dash! All while his Secret Service detail is dashing the opposite direction. It’ll be every man for himself then. I mean the agents would be thinking, “would I take a bullet for this guy? Yea that’s the job. Do I get infected for him then give it to my family? After all we read the news too and hear his private phone calls. So…NO, he’s on his own with this one. Good luck Mr. President! Keep running Sir!”

Lol, a bunch of my friends and I would consider it a badge of honor if we were to discover we made some government watch list.

We ain’t trying hard enough if we aren’t.

😉

Farflung Wanderer

Well, to be absolutely honest, we probably already are on the list.

I mean, if we post here, someone in the NSA probably is watching.

Farflung Wanderer…And to that I say…GOOD! Maybe one of them will pass along some of the common sense posted here by all to the White House!

MustangCryppie

LOL! Trust me, the only NSA people watching this blog are the ones in the military. Like watash.

Flagwaver

I have no doubt whenever this blog gets flagged for an analyst to review, they start taking bets and/or making the jiffypop.

Nah, you’ve got it all backwards, FFW.

It’s a LOT more permanent and a LOT better if bodaprez gets to go down in history as THE worst US president EVER.

Would you want him to be remembered as the president who was deposed in a coup?

Or would you prefer that he be referred to as ‘pulling an obama’ (meaning worse than Nixon) when someone is a complete screw-up?

Which do you think would last longer, get a lot less sympathy, and be more permanent? Nixon or ‘pulling an obama’?

Farflung Wanderer

Huh. I never thought of it that way, PH-2.

I’m sorta torn. While I like the idea of him being loathed through history, at the same time I feel like I’d rather he’d go down like Hitler in the books than Nixon.

2 more years is 2 more years of damage.

Besides, it’d be a first.

Farflung Wanderer

Just to explain the Hitler/Nixon comment: I’m making a difference between someone tyrannical removed from power over than someone removing themselves from power in shame.

Obama’s bad, but he’s not Hitler-bad.

I hope.

Ex-PH2

Maybe I should have included Carter in my references. He was FAR worse than Nixon.

Hitler was a tyrant. Bodaprez doesn’t have that chutzpah, unless I’m reading him wrong.

We’ve had 6 lo-o-ong years of watching his idiocy unfold, as in his feeble attempts to be a control freak (e.g., last year’s closing the parks and monuments). We have seen it all blow right up in his idiotic face. I don’t think he wishes to be remembered that way, but he will be.

Frankly, with this supreme mess that ebola has become for the current (lack of) administration, I expect to see another tantrum like the illegal immigrant mess tantrum at the southern border (they blame me!!!) live on TV.

Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Actually, he played the lyre harp. And he was behind that fire, anyway, because he wanted a cheap, quick way to demolish the slums of Rome so that he could build his ‘golden palace’. And no, he didn’t give a crap who got hurt by that fire, and of course, it got out of control and destroyed most of the city of Rome.

But you might at Herbert Hoover to that list, because he said everything was just fine, it’s just a recession, and went fishing**. That old stock market collapse was followed shortly by the Great Depression, so he was blamed for the entire thing. But, boy, did he love fishing**.

**literary license!

Nice one.

Make a bumper sticker. Willing to bet it would sell in the 10s of thousands. I’D buy one (if I don’t make them myself first)

Farflung Wanderer

I’m totally going to buy one if that ever becomes a reality.

Just an Old Dog

This it what happens when a “community organizer” gets elected to high office.
The “community” he organized was nothing more than a bunch of whining victims who admired him for stealing money from the people that actualy worked for a living and channeling it to them.
Now he is expected to represent an entire country, and he is failing.

NEW RULE! No person, writer, editor, contributor, Moderator, or commenter may ever again use the words LEADERSHIP or LEADER in connection with the man Obama or his administration in this blog ever again.

That is the last time we should ever see these words used pertaining to this Klown or his Posse of grossly incompetent sycophants.

Carry On.

ABC News reported yesterday that the Dallas hospital where two nurses contracted Ebola is a now a “ghost town.” There is no waiting time in the ER and beds are plentiful. No one, it seems, wants to go there, even folks in dire need of emergency treatment! So, I was wrong. Instead of personnel quitting, as I anticipated, they will be pink-slipped for lack of patients. Meanwhile, the hospital administration is trying to convince everyone that the place is safe. And I mean they are trying very, very hard. And it isn’t working, for some reason. Imagine that.

Ex-PH2

I know this is an inappropriate response to your comment, 2/17 AirCav, but I started laughing quietly when I read it.

Ironic, isn’t it? That the hospital which sent home the infectious patient now can’t get any patients?

I’ve seen a hospital closed down because its ER crew wouldn’t treat a teenager who was shot in an alley 20 feet from the ER door, because he wasn’t shot inside the hospital’s property line boundary.

Karma’s a bitch with very long teeth.

2/17 Air Cav

I find nothing inappropriate in your response. It is truly ironic. I foresee the place going belly up, sold one day, and the building razed. Ten years from now, someone will say to her child, “I used to work there.” And the child will reply, “Where mommy, in that parking lot?”

Pigmy Puncher

Sending that patient home was a major F up. Following CDC protocols created the rest of the problems….

I have been wondering, what is the pay rate for a position like “Ebola Czar”? And where does one apply?

My favorite Ebola memes:

“If you like your ebola, you can keep your ebola.” (from TAH last week)

“Don’t all of those zombie movies start out with some guy in a lab coat telling everyone that everything will be all right?”

Farflung Wanderer

I always they started with a jarring mix of scenes that show how bad mankind has been to the planet, then a few minutes of character exposition, and then…

Here is a link to a blog that has apparently been set up to be a collecting point for ‘all things ebola’.
