Bergdahl investigation complete
From Andy, a link to Reuters reports the the investigation of the circumstances around Bowe Bergdahl’s disappearance from his post and reappearance among the enemy has been completed. But we’re not going to hear about the results before the election;
“The investigating officer has done his work but now that work is moving through the Army system, and at each stop … there will … be questions, requirements for clarification,” [Pentagon spokesman Army Colonel Steve Warren] told reporters. “So it’s working its way through the system as would any other investigation.”
Warren rejected news reports suggesting that results of the investigation were being delayed until after the November elections to avoid re-igniting the controversy surrounding the prisoner swap that led to Bergdahl’s release.
Yeah, if there was a way they could blame Bush, it would already be old news.

I call bullshit. They make it sound like the old days where someone wrote a report and one or two copies worked their way up through the system receiving annotations, recommendations, and clarifications at every stop.

This is the modern era. Everyone that needs to read that report received a .pdf file copy the day it came out. Up to and including (probably) President Obama, or at least one of his top aides.

When that report comes out, I can already tell you that we are NOT going to like what it says.
I wonder if the folks whose journalist sons were beheaded are wondering why their lives held less value than that of a man who walked away from his job and created his own hellish situation?
How come we don’t trade with terrorists when it’s those journalists who are losing their head, but we do when it’s a jerkoff who didn’t do his job?
Now granted I’m sure the report will explain how poor young Bergdahl was disoriented from hiking in the wilderness looking for butterflies and the home of the fairies and is completely innocent in all of this, but if we release 5 high level guys for someone who is at best an idiot and at worst a traitor why can’t we release a few lower level shit bags for some journalists?

Good point, VOV. I’m no fan of the media in general and don’t think it was a good idea for those guys to be there in the first place, but they don’t deserve what’s happened to them. Bergdahl, on the other hand, pretty much seems to suck at life no matter how you slice it, and would be no great loss to humanity.

No way they are going to say he deserted. None. Not in the final report. Obama traded five terrorists for him. It’s in the wash cycle right now. Wait until the double spin cycle works its magic.
Look what happened with Benghazi–NOTHING. They put shit out there, they play with facts, invent some, hammer home some stupid points, mainly for misdirection, and the media and public eventually move on to other matters. And so it will be with Bergdahl.
I can think of only two reasons for delaying the report.
1. It is a whitewash and the klown posse doesn’t want to face the backlash.
2. Bergdahl is a deserter and the President doesn’t want to look like the Taliban duped him into the prisoner exchange.
No matter the reason this president does not want to face up to the fact that he is the incompetent boob that we all know he is. I seriously doubt that they will ever tell the truth on this clusterfuck.
Who gives a flying shit what happens to him, we would be better off if we just forget this guy and let him rot in hell, I think we have better places to spend our money on guys like him, lets start thinking about some of our people that are living in cardboard boxs that could use a helping hand. This old world is sure going to hell, glad I won’t be around to see what the next 5 years are going to be like, I think I’ve seen it all in the pass 88 years.
