Daniel Lee Marshall Jr., the fake Ranger, pleads guilty
The Stars & Stripes reports that Daniel Lee Marshall Jr., the fake Ranger who had insinuated himself into the Marcus Luttrell family circle, pleaded guilty to charges that, as a felon, he had a firearm in his possession. Marshall appeared at the Luttrell home when the iconic Navy SEAL was missing during Operation Redwings, but wore out his welcome in 2010 when he stole a weapon;
When sheriff’s deputies and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives searched Daniel Lee Marshall Jr.’s trailer in April, they found several guns, as well as an Army dress uniform with ribbons that he did not earn and a pickup truck with a Purple Heart license plate that he did not deserve.
Sporting a military-style haircut, Marshall, 45, stood before U.S. District Judge Gray Miller.
He admitted to being a felon in possession of a firearm, a crime that carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison. Marshall is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
Police also recovered the Luttrell’s gun at Marshall’s home. He was busted out as a fake Ranger by a group of real Rangers who suspected Marshall’s credentials.

Houston Chronicle from yesterday said “Marshall did serve in the Army, according to authorities, but he did so only briefly and did not deploy overseas. ”

I actually new this guy and he was very good at the shit he told. He went to school with my ex wife. some really sad stuff to know that someone I thought was a friend and brother in the military pulled some crap like this just to impress people. he even had a face book page called ranger dan.
