More About That Menace, “Global Warming”

| August 25, 2014

Here’s a few new interesting bits regarding that threat to the planet, “global warming” – courtesy of the folks at whatsupwiththat.com:

Yeah, that “global warming” is truly a menace to society – and humanity. We gotta do something – right away!  OMG, the sky’s about to fall!!  Aieeeeee!!!!!

(I do hope that last paragraph’s sarcasm was obvious.)

Sheesh. What we need do is admit that mankind really doesn’t yet really understand Earth’s climate anywhere near as well as our “climate warming”   propagandists   proponents claim. And we also need to admit we really don’t know if the Earth’s climate is staying about the same, warming, or cooling – and if it’s changing, what’s causing the change.

They are going to realize that we are not suffering from global warming but are slipping into another mini-ice age. I only pray that they don’t realize it too late.

In the early 80’s, it was “Hole in the Ozone layer”
In the early 90’s, it was “Greenhouse Gases”
In the early 2000’s, “Global warming”
In the early 2010’s, “Climate Change”

They will figure out some way to pander to the simple minded public one way or another. And if it is a Mini Ice Age, you can guaran-damn-tee they will use that as a way to push their agenda.

My apologies. :O. Was too young to remember that one. 🙂

You beat me to it, Hondo. I remember well the fear mongerers crying about the coming ice age due to man’s pollution of the environment.

I remember whaen I was just a yard ape in the Seventies when the “Experts” were predicting a coming ice age due to particles from hydrocarbon combustion blocking sunlight, next came the glowbull wormening hoax of the eighties and nineties that is still perpetuated!

When I was a kid in the 60s we were hearing that by the year 2000 we would be over populated, there would be food shortages, massive droughts, air pollution that would require us to wear gas masks, and lots of dandruff.

FW, I pray that it is only a mini Ice age. For all we know we may be heading for a Real Ice Age. The happen every 15,000 years or so and it has been about 15,000 since the last one. I guess I shouldn’t worry too much, John Kerry said that Global Warming is the greatest threat to our national security. Oh that, and conservative voters.

Roger in Republic:

Don’t sweat it. If we do head toward a real ice age, the fedzilla will simply give everyone a full sized SUV and a life time supply of fuel.

That’ll fix it, for sure.

The Other Whitey

I also worry that there may not be anything “mini” about it. I just pray to God that when it happens, a real-life Bandit Six will step up to the plate.

In their 2013-2014 issue, Farmer’s Almanac predicted a cold, nasty winter, with a snowstorm on the weekend that was slated for the Superbowl.

(Not The Old Farmer’s Almanac – different publication.)

This new issue for 2014-2015 forecasts the same thing.

And so far, no one in the meterology or climate science group has explained the change from summer pattern to winter pattern (in summer) in the jetstream.

Sorry, guys, but this episode of the Medieval Warming Period appears to be coming to an end.

Please note that all of the data I’ve found indicate that warming trends are shorter than cooling trends. I’ve found only one exception to that, but it was LONG before modern humans appeared on Earth.

That last warming period ended in the late 1990s, and that warming period started at the end of the last mini ice age.

Far too many of the newer sunspots aren’t flaring, so even with its sunspots at maximum, the sun is going quiet… like it did before the Maunder and Dalton minimums. We know what happened when that happened.

Yes, we’ve had a series of CMEs since 2006 that have been bigger than usual, in addition to the sun NOT flipping its magnetic poles on time. That got on their nerves, because they couldn’t explain it.

Sunspot minimum: 18 months, no sunspots, from October 2008 to March 2010. Pictures are available at the NASA SOHO archives in jpg format.

Well, it’s Mother Nature doing her thing, and we have no control over it. However, we could all be making adjustments… right now.

So much for calling Al Gore Jr., methinks he’s too busy suing Al Sneer-and-jeer for stiffing him a few tens of millions on their purchase of his former TV Network!!

Funny I read this article today; for the green crowd and their machines:

Clean the air by driving that big ole honking F150 Raptor…

Roger in Republic

By cutting our unrestricted use of fossil fuels we have cleaned up the air. Now the air will be too cold to breathe. It sounds like we are going to need all of the greenhouse gases we can generate just to keep warm.

Wait, the government would cook the books, by installing measuring stations, at air ports, at the edge of parking areas for jet airplanes? Put them downtown in the middle of acres of concrete? No, say it isn’t so.
Meanwhile, us folks here in central Michigan will, more than likely, not see a 90° day this summer. Today was supposed to be our only shot at 90, but it rained and cooled everything down, and the clouds stayed around. Currently, it’s 81 and humid.
