Friday morning feel good stories

| August 1, 2014

Chief Tango sends us our feel good stories for this morning. The first is from Connecticut;

Police said the robber walked into the Quick Food Mart at 305 New Haven Avenue around 11 p.m. Monday and shot an employee in the leg after demanding money

That employee, Jehan Zeb, recounted the harrowing encounter Tuesday night. He’s sporting crutches but expected to be fine.

“I see the pistol and at that time, he came here inside the register area and tell me, ‘Hands up and give me money,” Zeb said.

The robber then fired two rounds, one of which hit him in the leg, he explained.

“And the third time, they target my forehead,” Zeb said. He opened the register, then lunged at the robber and tussled with him for the gun.

Zeb said he wrenched the pistol from the suspect’s grasp and the robber ran off. Only then did he realize blood was filling his shoes.

The next comes from South Carolina;

Captain Travis Tilson said investigators have determined the victim, 41-year-old Bradley Payne, of Walhalla, was standing outside the home threatening the homeowner prior to the shooting.

Tilson said the homeowner retrieved a pistol and yelled for Payne to not enter the home.

Payne then jerked open the screen door and entered the home, Tilson said.

He said the homeowner shot Payne as he entered, striking him in the hip. The homeowner then called 911 and waited for deputies to arrive.

“No criminal charges will be filed against the individual who shot Mr. Payne. South Carolina law is very clear in stating a man’s home is his castle. A homeowner has the right to protect themselves if they fear their life is in imminent danger,” said Sheriff Mike Crenshaw in a release.

And Jeff wanted you to read this one from Indiana;

Police say James Worthington pulled up to a gas station on a bike early Tuesday morning. They say he approached James Shelton as he was pumping gas and demanded money.

Shelton says Worthington pointed a gun at him when he initially denied he had money. Then Shelton told Worthington he had $20 in his truck.

Shelton instead grabbed a club and fought off the would-be robber.

Police say they located Worthington and chased him down after he attempted to flee. Officers say they saw him toss a gun as he ran and it turned out to be a BB gun.

Worthington is charged with attempted robbery, pointing a handgun and resisting law enforcement.

Love it.

Don’t bring a BB gun to a club fight.

“How they catch you man?”
“I was b#&%h-slapped by a dude with a club :(”

I gotta tell you, I watch these little dudes on bikes all the time. When I see a “kid” on a bike with facial hair, my radar lights up.

“In this town I wasn’t expecting this”

A lot of good Connecticut’s anti gun laws did to prevent armed robbery and attempted murder. Those two are going to be even more upset when they realize how they can’t arm themselves legally when they try now.

Yeah, my state does have some issues. The act, 13-3 or SB 1160, has one benefit, to get an ammo certificate, long gun permit or handgun carry permit is relatively the same process. The backlog at the State Police Firearms Licensing Unit had been at least double the all time high. Anyone that thinks they may want to hunt, shoot, purchase, carry is rushing to get theirs.

The good idea fairy courting a-holes that voted yea on that piece of crap law upon the hill didn’t think that little consequence through.

I’m not even going to drive my point home about citizens exercise their rights, especially by refusing to register magazines or so called assault weapons.

I shouldn’t type when I’m this tired. Do iPhones count as heavy machinery?
Oh well. Most of the words are there and in the right order.
