Michael W. Murphy; phony wounded warrior
From Scotty comes this dude Michael William Murphy who told the local reporter that he had been in Fallujah with the 25th Infantry Division;
Murphy spent five years in the Army, including a tour in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2007-08 with the 25th Infantry Division. He works for a facilities maintenance company now.
According to Scotty, in verbal conversations, he has claimed a Purple Heart and said that he served in 1-25th at Fort Stewart. The only 1-25th is the 1st Stryker Brigade of the 25th Infantry Division which is at Fort Richardson in Alaska, you know, about as far from Fort Stewart that you can get with dry feet.
The 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 25th Division was in Iraq in 2007 and they were operating around Fallujah that year. But, even if it was in Fallujah, young Murphy wouldn’t have been with them.
Category: Phony soldiers
Just another phony 57A.
Well he’s wearing a gortex jacket so that’s good
enough for me.
(I still have my two with the cloth rank on the front tab)
I have 3. Woodland, desert, and ACU. That’s the same as being Ranger, SF, and Sniper, right?
I see you the three Gortex’s and raise you one plastic lima-bean green wet weather top AND bottom. Pretty sure that puts me about two notches below Chuck Norris…
I’ll see your three Goretex’s and raise you two field jackets – DCU and Woodland.
I’ll raise you one Army PT banana suit that’s issued two sizes too small.
Not only do I have the BDU/desert/ACU goretex parkas and the permeable OD rain jacket, I have a genuine OD non-permeable rain jacket from the Vietnam era that traps in your sweat and leaves you a sweaty wet limp noodle by the time you take the jacket off. Owning that Vietnam rain jacket makes me a MAC-SOG operator, I guess (not)…
I miss my Graf Jacket. It wouldn’t fit my fat ass either even if I still had it…but that’s not the point.
I wore the rubber” duck suit in Okinawa during MANY a typhoon evac driving 10K forklifts.
I remember having to stand up every once and a while to let the rain and sweat run down my legs and out the ankles of the suit as I’d be sitting in a puddle and after working an extended shift outside in the tropical wetness, I’d come back to the dorm and take everything off and I’d look like a pasty white red-headed PRUNE.
Good times, good times.
Me, too. However, mine remains hanging in my closet. I don’t feel a need to wear camo gear as a fashion statement.
I still have my original jump boots issued in 1958 (yes, 1958), field jacket and rain gear. Problem is wearing them now only indicates I’m homeless.
Club Manager, is that the M1951 Field Jacket? You know the jacket with sharp enough collars to do a quickie dry shave to be named supernumerary of the 1700 Guard Mount. I still have one complete with white and gold/black tapes.
sn4ke says:
“July 31, 2014 at 9:57 am
I’m too fat now to fit in anything that was issued to me”
I feel ya bro, If I went back in I would have to have my shelter half AND Shower curtain altered….
I actually had to look up “shelter half” to see what the hell you were talking about. Today’s TA-50, they just issue a poncho for that purpose. Poncho + 550 cord + A stick or something = Hooch. Unless/until you’re lucky enough to have GP Mediums or DRASH tents sent to your COP. It probably shows I’m from a younger generation.
Yeah, you can see what a super badass he is, rocking that camo jacket with a rake in his hand. Probably tells people he knows 50 ways to kill somebody with his rake…
Well we’ve seen it before
Now that just makes me think of The Shoveler from Mystery Men. Yes, stupid, but fits right in with that video.
Ewww, that lame-ass movie had Janeane Fugly Garofalo as the female lead. Why the hell would you bring that up?
This needs re-edited for sound using kung-fu movie dialogue and sound effects.
Who needs a space shuttle door gunnar patch when Michael W. Murphy has a combat rake. I’m planning on a joint youtube video with him.
You guys have no appreciation for the amount of training required to display the skillz I do in the Youtube video.

I’m not even counting the multiple trips to the garden section of Lowes/Home Depot and my local gay bar to perfect some of those rear hold moves. I never had time for that during my 58 day US Army career.
sincerely
John “Faker 6” Giduck
WTF did I just watch? Please tell me these idiots paid money for this.
The only raking this asshole deserves is over some coals!!!
See what I did there?!?!
Comedy Gold!! All week, veal, tip waiter……
I think I can provide the hot coals….just sayin’
Only 0817 and I’m fed up with stupid for today.
Well, if he wasn’t inservice for the few years he was gone, I’m guessing that this will come as a shock to his family and friends. I mean, think about it. You sent and received no mail from Iraq? And even if your personal policy was no contact with the folks back home, you were wounded and no one in your family was notified by anyone? If this is true, it’s a crying shame b/c he and his friend are doing the right thing in maintaining the memorial grounds.
Is’nt that an offical “Giduck” model rake? I’ve heard he is expanding his line of killer yard tools.
Nah! Doesn’t have an EoTech sight and a one-point assault sling on it.
Somehow I was led to believe that the shovel was the weapon of choice.
I was in Baghdad 06-08 with 1st Cav, 2/12 Reg…I think there were also elements of the 25th down south in Kalsu…but I couldn’t swear to what brigade they belonged to.
Either way…..this lying twat waffle needs to shut his twinkie hole.
Gonna be an interesting conversation this little spunk bubble has with his family when they ask where he REALLY was during his “deployment”
The 3rd Brigade of the 25th ID was in and around Kirkuk 06-07.
Sprucing up the memorial for Brooks, Murphy said, was about “making sure people don’t forget about him, making sure people stop and look.”
Peter Capano, chief of parks for the city’s Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries Division, said Murphy has done a good job cleaning up litter in some of the city’s public places. He noted Manchester has an adopt-a-site program that has gotten folks involved in planting and painting projects in other parks.
Dude, you were doing good things in your community. Cleaning up the veterans grave sites, cleaning out city parks, donating 30 hours a week to do these wonderful things…..why tell a lie?
Veterans don’t care if you served or not, if you were doing these things in your neighborhood any veteran I know would have gladly bought you some adult beverages and sat with you for an hour or two talking about life….
You do good works, you do them from selflessness, don’t besmirch those good works with lies….
VOV – dead on. We sorta-kinda expect fellow Vets to do things for other Vets, but, at least to me, it sometimes does mean more to see civvies willing to do decent things like this. That shows that they actually appreciate what we do/have done for them. Why jack it up by claiming some false crap?
Now I’m left wondering if the community service he performs is really voluntary, or required by the courts?
Lying liars lie, and when they do, it usually points to other things not discovered yet.
Maybe that gortex is covering up that county orange.
What,in the original story, prompted Scott to dig further I wonder. There were no outlandish claims nor tales of daring do. If someone told me they served for 5 years and had one deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan and didn’t say anything goes else, I probably would have just taken that person at their word
I am guessing:
1-25th at Fort Stewart
Back to the top:
“in verbal conversations, he has claimed a Purple Heart and said that he served in 1-25th at Fort Stewart. The only 1-25th is the 1st Stryker Brigade of the 25th Infantry Division which is at Fort Richardson in Alaska”
Perhaps the Purple Heart claim sparked something or even the 1/25 claim from someone with knowledge of the 1/25th. Something piqued Scotty’s interest and he hit paydirt again…just a shame that Murphy is doing otherwise commendable work.
Well, I know that elements of 1/25 were at Marez in Mosul in 2004/5 – believe they sent a battalion to Fallujah that time frame. They took over from 3/2 in 2004. If I remember correctly they were from Schofield or Lewis – not sure because I wasn’t in the division.
Actually, someone who knows Murphy and was fed up with hearing his bullshit lies sent it to Scotty.
It was an alert sent in that was followed up on. Sometimes, They prove to be true. Other times, They don’t. This one proved to be a legit case of Stolen Valor.
What sucks about this is simply that without the lies this is a nice story of a civilian cleaning up parks and honoring veterans by keeping the grave sites neat….
Another jackass that can’t just be himself…
There are so many of these guys who sully honorable service, or decent acts with a lie about their service.
If I read that story without knowing that he was a lying jackass it’s a heartwarming story…if I read that a civilian wanted to honor his fallen classmate I would be even more impressed that he was doing these good works…
Stupid sons of bitches ruining their lives with lies.
They must have some kind of hole in their soul that they think can be filled with falsehoods…idiots.
Does phony murphy have the balls to claim he was secret squarrel and that 1/25 was just his cover and that his real records are in a safe somewhere at USSOCOM HQs; can’t wait for his next move…
I was just thinking the same thing. You know what’s coming next! “My records are sooper sekrit swirrel and were sealed because NATIONAL SECURITY!”
Analysis:
1. Gortex jacket – CHECK!
2. Camo ball cap – CHECK!
3. Cropped buddy wearing the same – CHECK!
4. Dirt rake covered in pig shit – CHECK!
Results of analysis – LEGIT!
Red Sox fan… ’nuff said
That is World Series Champion Red Sox fan.
now it is complete.
I can forgive almost anything ….but not the fact this little turd is wearing a BOSTON RED SOX cap!!!! Why can’t he wear a Yankees cap instead??
Pretty sure that should be “soon to be former World Series Champion Red Sox” fan.
That’s right.Watch out,here come the Philadel,no,wait,the Kansas Ci,no,that’s not right either,where the hell are they now,Oh Yeah,Oakland.
This human urinal is about a hour or so away. May have to ask a favor from a co worker to check this loser out and have some words with him in Manchester.
C2Show, IMO those words should include: Put down the X-Box controller and slowly back away, put on your big boy pants and make an appointment with a local recruiter and step up to the plate. Looking at his picture he doesn’t appear to have exceeded the age requirements yet.
And he already has 1/2 of a uniform and a bunch of awards to display, so hell yeah – he’s ready.
Tough guy like him probably will not open his door or show up to any meet.
Heh. You called him human!
1 deployment in 5 years?
Immediately red flag.
What a jackoff.
It is my personal shame that I went from OSUT in 02 to 2 BDE 25th ID(L) and only deployed once in fife [sic] years… Not from a lack of trying to get to 3 BDE that was gettin’ it rough in Kirkuk, where 2 BDE had just left after ripping with a less than proactive NG unit.
Not a day goes by that I wish I’d had more than 2 ToDs(28 month total) in 11 years.
It’s damn tough to watch your friends and Brothers be great from afar.
But your point stands, this guy’s a douche for many reasons. If you’re going to embellish you should go all the way!
Yeah, I know I deployed just twice in 10 years myself. Air force though and some jobs at certain locations are non deployable.
We go where we’re ordered, when we’re ordered. Sometimes we’re able to influence the decision and sometimes not. No shame in being on the sidelines or only playing one inning. At least you’re willing…
Shittyassed booger-eating bedwetting pisspants Sparkle Pony Asswipe toilet seat-sniffing snotweasel!!! I’d bet he’s a brony as well!!
That was simply lyrical, Infidel. I bow humbly before your verbal-fu. We truly are not worthy.
😉
Based on that photo alone, I would have thought his name was Corky.
